I applied for an internship in New York City for dog behavior and got accepted!!! I will be going in early October for 6 weeks :D I can't wait! I'm just going to miss my babies SOOOOOOOOO MUCH. I already cry just thinking that I'm gonna have to sleep without them for 6 whole weeks.
You'll be in my part of the country! There are lots of nice dogs in the city to keep you company but 6 weeks is a long time to be away :(. Congrats on the internship!

Before you know it your six weeks will be up and you will be home with your babies.......... OH HOW MUCH FUN YOU ARE GONNA HAVE WHILE YOU ARE THERE THOUGH!! :)

6 weeks is a long time to be away but you will have fun and it WILL fly by quickly. Think of all those SLURPY kisses and Cuddles you'll get when you get home.

Yay Aly!!! Congrats, that's a wonderful opportunity!!! I am sorry you can't bring your furkids with you but I know they will be in good hands where they are going to stay. Are they going to be staying with your mom? I don't know if you have been to NYC, but in my opinion, it's the very best city anywhere! I was there last spring (thank goodness I was able to see it before the WTC was attacked) and it was incredibly beautiful. And in Central Park there's more then enough dogs being walked to help you get your puppy-dog fix :)
I am so excited for you, Aly. I know that 6 weeks sounds like a long time, but it'll fly by and you'll be back with your furfamily in no time :)

Hey - you'll be up closer to us - we're less than 6 hours drive from NYC! But you'll be IN Thelmalu's neck of the woods!

I know you will be miserable without your kids, but imagine how happy you all will be to get together again and you'll be able to put all of that new knowledge right to work!! :D

Aly, last night on Animal Precinct, they showed us the ASPCA headquarters and they were doing some behaviorial tests on some dogs that they convinced a man to turn in. I thought of you as soon as I saw it! Did you see the show?
Either way, it's so fascinating and I'm sure you will learn so much! I can't wait! I'm like obsessed with animal behavior(particularily dogs, for obvious reasons!) and I love learning about it. Between you, Sandra, Carrie, Candy, Logan...etc. this will be the PREMIER place on the web to get answers!!! Maybe we should write a book....The World of Pet Talk. Or start a company doing....something!!:p We could change the world!!!!! ;)
Rats, I was hoping you would relocate in my neck of the woods!
Please tell us more about the program that you are going to do. Who runs it and what do you think the training will lead to... a job or is this just for your own personal development? Whoever these people are, they should know just how lucky they are to get the very best in their program.

You'll miss the kids and they will miss you but,between the classes and seeing the sites in the city,the six weeks will go faster than you can imagine. You'll have a great time. :cool:
