I'm a new member of Pet Talk and thought I would say hi and put up pictures of my kids, the furry ones anyhow. A friend of mine introduced me to the site and I thought I'd try to get to know people a bit better by posting an introduction. So um, HI, and here they are:

Woohoo there they are ;). Vela is a very good friend of mine, we do transcription for the same company, started about the same time. I told her Pet Talk would enjoy seeing her boxer babies. She's been lurking awhile.

A little about my babies, Cracker is 2-1/2 and I've had him since he was 8 weeks. Ginger is a bit over 5 and I rescued her when she was 2. She is my problem child, has horrid arthritis in both hind legs, has had a mast cell removed from her neck, has to have me pick her butt up to ever get her in the car, is on more supplements than me, and is full of more heart than she is brains but I love her dearly. Cracker is my "soul dog", if that makes sense. We have a very close bond that only others who have that type of thing can understand, which I'm sure is many of you here! While we love all of our pets some have that special connection that can't really be put into words.
For myself, My real name is Shirley but I'm not so overly partial to that :D I'm 33 (almost 34, ahhhh), work from home as a medical transcriptionist, have 3 kids ages 13, 11, and 10, and have been married to the same guy for 15+ years.
I also have a Betta named Vader and a bearded dragon creatively named Dragon. He only has three legs, he was a rescue too hehe.
Well that's about it. Hope to get to know you all better.

Your dogs are beautiful, although I have to say Ginger speaks to me somehow. She looks so sweet, even if she might be a bit dopey. ;) She does sound like she's gone though a lot, poor thing, but, lucky for her, you found her. And, I know Jess understands the soul dog thing, as do many others in here. I know I do. Bruno was mine. I know a little about Kari and Sandra, I have been lurking a while hehe, but I look forward to getting to know more of you and getting to know the others more personally. Jess has lots of good things to say about you. And yes Ginger spoke to me too, I knew I had to help her and I love her dearly, her goofiness is part of her charm. She wasn't a "planned on" dog, but I'm glad we found each other. I just wish she didn't have so many problems and I could do more for her and she could enjoy life more, but we get by. Thankfully little things make her happy=) She is a very special dog.
Nice to see so many loving pet owners, makes me feel better after seeing some of the bad things that happen all too often.
