-
What a cutie pie! Oh you are going to have so much fun with him. My roomate has a chihuahua, they are characters. You are also really pretty. :)
-
Kirby is very cute!!
Don't worry about those posts with the rude things said about you....they were posting crap like that all over the forum....just a troll wanting to cause trouble.

Oh my gosh, Kirby looks like such a cutie!!! I cannot wait til you are able to bring him home with you. I am a chihuahua owner too and they are so fun!!! Congratulations on the new addition!!
-
Thanks i love chihuahua very much and have always wanted one, so i thought hell i got a job, i'm movin out soon why not get one. so i found a breeder close to my home on breeders.net and thats how i met sherry and i got to pick out my baby. i still need $217 for him since he is $400 but i have some money saved and i still need aleast another $100 for stuff like bowels, and collars i priced all it at petco.com plus i decided i'm goin to litter train him and i dont think i'm goin to get him fix unless..he has markin or other problems. and another 80 bucks for vet and shots.

I'd really reconsider this if you dont plan on showing him --- neutering him will give him a healthier and longer life! Chihuahuas are very prone to aggression, and neutering will help alot, not to mention it will make him alot less sexually frustrated. He won't try to run away to look for females, and he will have virtually no chance of testicular or prostate cancer. It's really alot better for him. Unless you are interested in showing or reputable breeding, I'd really consider neutering him.
-
i have been thinking about showing that has crossed my mind alot and i'm not sure that i could afford the opperation also. The breeders male who is Kirbys dad is the best Chihuahua i have every met, he is friendly and loves to give kisses. I just want my Chihuahua to be like him and i have read the book "Chihuahua's are for dummies" inside and out
-
If you can't afford to neuter, you really can't afford to show. Maybe contact a low-cost spay/neuter clinic, or see if you have a Canine Connections near you that will sponsor Kirby and pay for him to get fixed? My dog is a showdog, and the entries are usually reasonable, but the costs really do add up. Entering two shows can be the same price as neutering. Neutering really is cheaper in the long run and you can avoid some health and behavioural problems, not to mention "accidents" that can get you in alot of trouble and kill animals that need homes in shelters. Maybe talk to the breeder and see if you can have Kirby on a co-ownership -- that way she may be willing to pay the entry fees to allow Kirby into shows. :) I just hate to see a dog go unaltered for money reasons. :(
-
I Was Just Thinking That, It Adds Up For 2 Days At A Show Just For The Entries Were 60 And Thats How Much It Cost To Get Her Spayed And It Would Be Lower For You Because She Is A Smaller Breed.
-
well i cant do a co-ownership since i'm leavin the state in 3 months for good and not returning...ever again. well i see what i can do, i was thinkin of breeding also. but i guess i will see where the wind takes me, maybe my grandma can chip in some money to get him fixed.
But i did ask the breeder what she thinks and she thinks that getting him fixed isnt a big deal and that it would better for him not to be. But she said gettin him fixed has its good points, but she still thinks leavin him unfixed is fine.
-
Co-ownership outside of the state is no problem. Visa's mother lives here in BC and she is co-owned with another breeder down in the states.
Remember that breeding will cost you thousands of dollars -- it's definatly not something that you can afford if you can't afford a $50 operation!
-
oh its just 50 bucks wow, i thought it was more. my collie got sprayed it was 200 bucks. so i thought it would be around there or something.
-
The price of neutering varies, depending on where you go. I agree that you should check out a low cost spay/neuter clinic. Around here, they only charge $45 for a neuter. I think that the best thing would be to get him neutered :)
-
Ya maybe it is a good idea, thanks guys for swaying me i see now that maybe gettin kirby fixed even if he isnt broken lol. I will do it after i leave and i'm in ohio. since about feb he should be about 5 months good time as any i think.
-
yeah zoey is a large breed (flat-coated retriever) hers was only 60 and i didn't get her fixed at a low prise clinic, plus if you have a male, my male before we got him fixed we were having behavior problems and he ended up running away 2 times!!! untill we got him fixed and he hasn't ran away since ;) I hope we conviced you
-
Kirby is sooo cute! Congrats! I definitely think you should get him neutered, I had an unneutered dog and he had alot of behavior problems.
-
thanks he is a cutie oh i'm so exicted to go to petco and buy stuff for him, i feel like a pregant lady so exicted to have her baby and spoil it with stuff i know how it is my friend is pregnant lol. but anway i'm leass than 200 dollars to paying him off. then i need to save for his bowels, toys, etc. and i will do that the weekend before i get him. but ya, i think i will get him fixed after hearing what you guys have to say its seems like a good idea. since when i move i will be movin close to dobermen pinchers and i dont need Kirby running away and gettin in their way.
-
oh i wish the breeder would email me, she hasnt sent me anything since tuesday...
-
Kirby is just adorable! He is so tiny, have to watch about stepping that little fellow, LOL!
I would suggest neutering him though, it would be for his own good. Keep him from marking his territory and such. I have two chihuahuas, and I really love having them around. I waited too long to have old gaucho neutered and now the vet won't do him becaused he is afraid he is too old and will die during surgery, so he will mark his territory. I am still thinking about taking a chance and having it done anyway. Please don't make the same mistake I did.
Have fun with your little Kirby!
Willie :)

Congrats! He's going to be a heart breaker I'm sure!
I can't wait till you get to have him home with you!

I'm very pleased you decided to be a responsable dog owner, and neuter Kirby when he becomes of age :), good job!.. he'll be forever gratefull ;).

hates bad ppl...oh they should get put on a island away from everyone else.
I really hope these 4weeks go fast i really want him, and im so close to having enough to pay for him just need $171.31 and he is paid for. and then i have to get some money for toys and bowels and all the good junk from petco. as i was goin my math i should have $178 around there to spend at petco. i'm goin to do that the weekend before he comes home, oh i cant wait. yep i should have the money to get him fixed and i will be going through alot of pics since he is goin to be my spoiled lil' boy. i just hope my collie doesnt get to jealous.
well i kinda have a slight problem and dont know how to face it. I have a rough blue merle collie sleep in my bedroom, her bed, toys and one bowel is in my room and she sleeps in there. Well when i get Kirby all his stuff will be in my room and they said try not to get his stuff and her stuff confused (chihuahua's for dummies book) so he doesnt think everything belongs to him. so should i kick her out, i dont really want to but she is the familys dog even if i take care of her and she loves me most. so confused, i dont want her to think i hate her, but i dont want her to hurt Kirby or something if she stepped on him. she is really friendly with other dogs and cats, but she hasnt had one that was around all the time and takin up her masters time. .....what to do?

Honestly, separate toys for each dog in my house has never worked. They always end up stealing eachother's but it's never been a problem since, to a dog a toy is just a toy and they all pretty much do they same thing. As far as the Jealousy of your Collie, try your best to give them both equal amounts of attention. I wouldn't make your Collie leave your bedroom, as that's the place she's used to and likes to be. It just wouldn't be fair. My mom kept out passed Rottweiler and Tia in the same room when she was a young puppy and they were just fine together, my Rottie seemed to know that Tia (at the time was maybe 2 pounds) was tiny and she couldn't play roughly with her or anything. Some people's opinions will differ on this but that's how I feel, hopefully what I said all made sense....

thanks maybe i will keep sohpie in my room

OHHHH what a cutie OHHHHHHHH PUPPY BREATH i love that stuff :D :D
