:) I like the Black the best.. They have the prettiest coats & seem to be much smarter..
i'm not a fan of labs very much, but i love the darker color yellow lab
I wouldn't say smarter!!! Kylie is a lab, with an intellegence equal to a box of rocks!Quote:

I have voted chocolate because they are rare (at least here) as compared to the other colors, but I love them all! Can I vote again for the black and yellow?! ;)
I like yellows and silvers
I was never a fan, really, of labs. But, I always liked, of the three main colors...chocolate. How I ended up with a yellow lab is beyond me. Ha, you just can't choose who you fall in love with. :) I wouldn't trade my old yeller for anything!
Hehe...you haven't met Jack then...He is a black lab mix and he isn't the brightest thing. He is very trick oriented and a quick learner of things but he seriously lacks common sense! I love my goofball! I have always been a fan of the yellows and blacks though.Quote:

I don't love them but color doesn't matter to me as LONG as it is the chunky, stocky show type.
I'm not really a Lab sort of person but my favourite out of the 3 colours is a deep chocolate. Although, I must say that PT's very own Finn and Riley are 2 of the most beautiful Labs I've ever seen. I'm not sure what it is about them....
All labs are simply beautiful creatures, but i had to vote for Chocolate, was watching our wonder dogs this weekend on the Telly and fell in love with the chocolate lab performing. :)
Malone & Emerson want to change your mind!! I love all three colors, but since I could only vote for one, I picked yellow! I loooove labs! :cool:Quote:

Nothin' beats a yeller labbie! Only 1.5 more months until I am able to get one...been waiting 17.5 years!!!!!!! WOO HOO!
Aw, thank you so much! :) And, I agree with you about both labs you mentioned, there really is just something about them. ;) Same with Malone and Emerson, and, they have the coolest names!Quote:

but id pick guess yellow
That's really sweet! I think he's one of the most handsome I've ever seen, too...of course, I'm biased. But, I really do prefer the leaner, more rangier looking labs...as opposed to the ones that are shown. It's all just personal preference. Like I said earlier, I didn't ever want a lab. then, I met Finn. Can't control fate. :DQuote:

Yellow!!!!
I'm not very fond of labs either, but I am kind of partial to yellow labs. They're very pretty. Working at a boarding kennel-all you see is labs all day, and each color has a distinct personality. Yellows tend to be more reserved and calm, but if you get them going they'll play all day. Blacks are one extreme or other-either very reserved or extremely hyper. And chocolates are just the craziest dang things I've ever met. :p There are exceptions, but everyone at the kennel agreed that that's the way the colors go.
I love black labs best!! :D
I don't know why, but this thread makes me so incredibly sad. Why are so many people not fond of labs? What makes people not like them so much? Have you really taken the time to get to know one before you just write them off??
I know I shouldn't take it personally 'cause it's not aimed at me, but its really hard not to. :( This has been nagging at me, and I can't let it go, so please tell me why you don't like labs so much.
 :(
For me, it's not that I totally don't like Labs, they're just not really my type of dog. I think they're wonderful to visit and see pictures of but I wouldn't want to own one. I like the more intense breeds such as Tollers, Border Collies, Aussies etc. I aploogize if I might have made you feel that way....Quote:

But, I've know some dopey german shepherds, too, and, they're one of the smartest breeds. Some people like a dog that is more independent and challenging, labs are for the most part very eager to please, easy going and love everyone, and, everything. Which isn't a bad thing, of course, but, for some, maybe they like more of a challenge. I know I had a friend that saw Finn and had never seen a lab like him. She'd always seen the ones on TV at the shows, and didn't like the way they looked. But, I don't even like the ones on the show circuit, I like the leaner type you see in the field more often than not. So, there may be some that just don't like the look of the ones they've seen...but, as was already discussed in this thread, show or field is a debate that will always exist. Some love the show labs (or show border collies, show huskies...) more than the ones you see that aren't being shown. Anyway...it's just simply a matter of preference. Labs aren't going to be for everyone, and, that's all right. For me, anyway, I'm fine with it, depending on the reason. I ran into a lady once that called all labs stupid, and, that's why she'd never have one. I told her she was stereotyping based on a couple of labs she'd known and that she was actually being the unintelligent one in her assessment. When the judgment of a breed is simply based on one or two dogs from personal experience, that's when it bugs me a little. Just like if you've run into a couple of "mean" pit bulls, it's not fair to the breed to judge them based on those two bad apples. People do it all the time, and, instead of doing research and thinking on their own, and, not branching out, they just close down. And, in that case, you definitely shouldn't take it personally, because they're the ones with the issues. ;) Sorry I talk too much.
I like all of them, but if I had to choose I think I would choose the chocolate.
Labradors are just my kind of dog, i like a training challenge and dogs that are bred for completly different reasongs (Border Collies). Also because of overbreeding agression/ health issues are alot more common in Labradors these days. I have only met one field/ working Lab and she was an awsome sporting dog agile fast and smart, but they are very rare around our way :(.Quote:

Each to their own.
Chocolate's were my favorite, until I started to train my aunts dog Alex. No she's not a purebred (she is part dalmatian) and I have fallen in love with blackies ever since!
Steph, Jesse, and Splinter
I love labs and at one time I would have said chocolate but now I'm more partial to yellow. Oh heck, can I just have one of each?!;)

Black and dark yellow.
I have a light yellow though ;)
It's rare there? WOW, here, that seems to be the only color I see!Quote:
