MAXIMUS' worst problem..........

MAXIMUS has brought it upon himself to keep the yard free of.......yes, you guessed it........squirrels :mad: Talk about issues. Most of the time there are four that just give him the mean fur(hackles?). There have been six at the most. Sometimes, when the glass door is closed. They will sit on the patio, and heckle at him, knowing he can't get out until someone opens the door.

I don't think MAXIMUS knows what it's supposed to be.
I keep calling it a squirrel. Maybe, he'll figure it out.

Ha ha ha, yeah Finn goes crazy with squirrels. My dad keeps one of those ears of corn high up in the tree right outside our front door, and, there are always squirrels out there. It drives Finn ape. ;) But, it's funny, the squirrels frolic around, knowing he can't get to them through the door.

Oh Maximus, Ginger totally agrees with you. When those squirrels run halfway up a tree, then turn around and hang upside down and yell (chatter) at you, she wants to get them too. You go Maximus.

Barb, I bought a grey squeaky squirrel for Ginger for Christmas, let me tell you, she knew what it was. :) It is actually still here and in one piece (she usually doesn't pull her toys apart) but only one squeaky still works (the one in the tail). She loves it, and plays with it almost every morning.

I have one for my 3 and they love it. :) I usually keep it up so the squirells don't get lost, but when I take it out they got nutso! :p :D

Gracie loves to chase the squirrels too but now that the trees are gone and the pool is in..she chases them along the fence..they just stare down at her while she barks

Where did you get that? He used to have a stuffed bird cage full of birds. I found it at Target in the baby dept. I haven't seen it since we moved. I'm gonna look in those two "extra" bags.

When we lived in the city, we had tons of squirrels around. They loved to tease the dogs........but Star turns out to be an excellent hunter!-- She got at least a dozen of them, which makes me wonder WHY they would keep coming into the yard...?:eek:

Maximus looks like a dedicated defender of his yard from the
dreaded squirrel invasions.:D Maggie does her best to scare them off from the electric wires out back.LOL :D Great pictures.:)

My bridge girl Muffin used to be the same way. and she would chase birds around too. LOL

Maggie chases them too. She has gotten close to getting one before but I really don't know what she would do if she caught one as the squirrel is her size, LOL. I bought her a squirrel toy as well but I don't think she knows what it is either. Sadie however likes to pull the hair off it's tail. :) That toy that Kay posted is so cool. I am gonna have to look into getting one for my 2. Maximus maybe we can get you and some other PT dogs together for a squirrel hunt....Maybe a group effort could tackle the squirrel problem, LOL.

OOUU, OOUU, Hannah wants to be part of the group. Maybe we could call it The Squirrel Brigade. Around here we have Evil Squirrel and he torments Hannah no end. When she stands in a certain spot in the kitchen and looks up out the kitchen window, she can see him in the branches of the trees beside the house. It makes her so :mad: that he would dare to come so close to her abode. There have been many chases but so far, Evil Squirrel has evaded her iron jaws :p

Until the day comes when she catches up with Evil Squirrel, she just has to take out her frustrations on Hurl-A-Squirrel.

Maximus, Lady shares your frustration with the little things, they just DON'T PLAY FAIR!!!

She starts chasing the red squirrel that has taken over one of the bird houses in our yard, and it runs up the tree and hides. Doesn't it just understand all Lady wants to do is play? After she trees it, she'll sit there just waiting for it to come out.

We had a St Bernard when I was growing up (Freckles was a good mutt) who actually caught a squirrel one day, flipped it up into the air, and the squirrel ran away. She looked absolutely despondent that her playmate didn't want to play anymore.

Oh.... those nasty squirrels are bothering you!

Maximus, Jesse is FULLY understanding. those dang squirrels, they sit there until Jesse is almost on them, then, ZOOP, they are gone! How all the dogs in here give a big AWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Translation: DANG SQUIRRELS, STAY OUTA OUR YARD!!

Snowy loves chasing squirrell too. I'm glad the squirrels are a lot faster than her though so I don't have to worry. There have been occassions when some dogs get the squirrells :(
