Oh My Yes - I'd like an update too - last time I saw Hope she was looking really good - she's gotta be gorgeous now!!!!
Julie, I too have wondered about Hope, and the others. I know your life is busy with all of your rescue work, plus just everyday responsibilities. Just wanted you to know we are all thinking about you and Hope and the others. "Hope" you can update us soon.
Logan :)
Also thinking about you and Hope! :)
Sandra you are so thoughtful,
I did not remember.
I too will be waiting for an update.
Me too!
Hey Everybody!! I haven't forgotten any of you! All is going well just EXTREMELY busy!!! Hope is doing well and is now on the "chunky"side. Now that is "unbelieveable"!! She is having so much fun exploring everything and loves to go for rides in the car and look out the window. She is a true joy and every day that I have her is a miracle! Sugar has improved and is now eating well and not so shy. She follows me everywhere from the time I get home until I go to bed and when I wake up she is right there. I had her at the vet and he says she is in pretty good health and figures she is at least 10 years old. I will have to watch her closely for new lumps that could be a sign of the cancer returning. So everyday I check her and Hope for new lumps and bumps. They think it is a game! Rescue work continues to be busy and is rather slow for adoptions right now so we have alot of animals. Hopefully things will pick up soon. I am working on a new project right now that would help at risk teens by having them help take care of shelter animals. A couple of friends of mine are refurbishing a warehouse with the back of the warehouse being for the animals and the front of the warehouse for the kids. We will be doing several projects to incorporate the kids and animals. If all goes well it will be a great for the community and most of all great for the kids and animals. I hope it will stop the circle of violence between kids and animals. As you all know, it starts with abusing animals and then goes to spouses. significant others and children. So never a dull moment and more than enough to do. But the greatest thing is I love it!! There are many people out there with the same goals and hopefully more people will get involved to help the animals and children. Hope all of you are well. I have not had much time to read up on other topics. Be sure and look up all of my dogs at:

Talk to all of you soon!!!

Hope is such a ham and loves the camera!!!
Kfamr- Tripod, Turbo and Medusa are all pit bulls and are big babies!! Tripod loves laying on her lion bed ( not that she's spoiled or anything!) They are quite a crew and make everyday worth living. Again, thanks to all of you for all of your support of the past several months and Hope sends a slurpy kiss!!
:)
Julie, Thanks for the update. Hope is an absolutely georgeous, transformed miralce. It was great to watch the transformation via the cyber channel of Pet Talk! Good Luck on your new project!
Oh yeah!!!! I'm sooo glad everyone is doing well. Hope is just too darn cute. Thanks for sharing with us!! Keep in touch.
Hi Everybody!
Haven't talked to all of you in a while and I wanted to let you know how Hope was doing. She went in for her 6 month check up after her eye surgery and she is still doing exceptionally well!! Her eye doctor is still amazed at how well she has done. She has become the best dog and has a very funny personality! And get this!!! Hope has to go on a diet! She now weighs 70 pounds!! That is 43 more pounds than when we found her. She is a little chunky but not really overweight and she looks fabulous! We have to keep her weight under control becuase of her diabetes. Eventhough she is 12 years old I hope I have her for a long time. I will have to catch up on all of the "pet talk". The rescue business is always busy and especially recently due to the fire in one of our close communities. I think of all of you often and again very much appreciate all of your support with Hope. Talk to you soon! :D :D
Well, you just made my night, Julie!!! That girl looks wonderful!!! And 70 pounds????? Hardly sounds like the same girl we saw months ago......when we were all afraid to even look at the picture!! Hope has spring "Hope eternal". Thank you so much for keeping up with us, so we can know how all of you are doing. :)
And hug that precious girl for us, please!!!! :)
Logan
Wow, 70 lbs! She looks great, absolutely adorable.
Oh Julie!!! She looks SO good!! She sure doesn't look like she's 12. Hope is beautiful and so are you for taking such good care of her. How is the project with the kids going?? I would be interested in how it's working to see if we couldn't try something like that here. Any news on your other babies? Give them all hugs from the Kendalls. By the way...Mike and I took in an abused pit that had been starved and used as a bait dog and he's doing beautifully too...I can't wait for the day that Dr. B. tells us he needs to watch his weight. Keep in touch!!!
Mugsy took the words right out of my mouth! Hope does look GREAT and not a day over 7! I pray you have many years with her! She is a true MIRACLE!! :D :D :DQuote:

That's excellent news! And I'm amazed at the picture, she does look like a different dog. Hope is truly our miracle girl!
Some of the newbies might not remember the story of "Hope." All I can say is that her tale is nothing short of a miracle! Julie, you are truly an angel. And please give Hope lots of hugs and kisses from her ecstatic, extended fur and human family!:)
Dogresq,
Hello. Just wanted to drop a line to see how you and
all your Pups are ? How is Hope doing? I would guess
that you & your Rescue group are very busy now with
the raging fires in your part of the country. I hope you
and all your furkids are O.K. All the Best from Liz & Buddy.
Hi Everyone!
It has been a tough month with the fires and transporting animals to get them to safety. The fires have been so devastating and the loss of animal life horrific. Please say a prayer for all of the animals, domestic and wild, that have been lost in this terrible tragedy.
Two weeks ago Monday I lost my friend of nearly 16 years, Medusa, to heart failure. I rushed her to the vet but she died in my arms before we could get there. Medusa was my first rescue and I rescued her from a junk yard when she was about a year old. She was the dirty, scruffy and was pretty wild but she turned out to be my best friend. She grew up with my children and they too are devastated. She was so tolerant of all the rescue animals I brought home and just gave me the look of "here she comes with another one". She loved to lay in the sun and sit on her chair. Sleeping on the bed was always a must. She loved everybody and loved nothing more than to be with her family. My heart is broken but I am very thankful I had her as long as I did and she will always be with me.
Hope continues to do very well and she has lost maybe a pound! She is really enjoying the nice weather and actually being able to see all the beautiful tress, flowers and animals. She keeps me going and is my strength a lot of the time. I look at her everyday and I know I must continue to do rescue work no matter how hard and heartbreaking it can be. She is with me for a very special reason and so I go on.
All of my other animals are doing fine and make my life worthwhile. Hope all of your furry friends are well too.
Thanks for checking in with me. Time seems to get away from me easily. Oh, by the way, I'm going to be a grandmother in August! Take care everyone!
Julie, I'm so sorry about Medusa. You gave her a good life I'm sure. I know how you feel. We lost 2 in one day in May and it was devastating and we hadn't had them all that long, so I can just imagine your pain. Please accept my sympathy.
I'm so glad Hope is doing well as well as all your other babies. Please don't be a stranger, and keep up all the good work you do for the animals...you truly are an angel and my heroine.
Hugs to Hope and the others and you will be in my prayers to help all that you can in those terrible fires.
Molly
Poor you .... Medusa looks so loving into that camera !! I understand why you loved that dog so much ! Take care !!!!!!!
Hope looks so good now !! Happy she is doing so great !!
Julie,
So very sorry to hear about Medusa. You gave her a
good life, and she gave you her heart to keep forever.
I'm sure she's enjoying her Special place at Rainbow
Bridge, and looks down on you & the gang right now.
Yes, I have been praying for all the animals & people
affected by the horrible fires out west.Strange, but usually
the first thing I think of when a hear of widespread forest
fires is the animals who live there.:( They have nowhere
to run & hide. Thank you for all your good work & also
would like to pass on a Congrats on becoming a Grandma
this August.:D Thanks for checking in & for the update on
you & the furkids. All The Best to you & yours!!!Liz & Buddy.
Oh my, oh my, that picture of Medusa got to me as well. Something about the ones that have loved so long. You know it may be their time but you just don't want to see them go and you will miss her so much. I've have two that have been at the bridge, one for almost 7 years and one for 3.5. I just had a wonderful dream about them last week where I got to hold them in my arms in the dream, and I could feel their very size and shape and weight and texture of their fur. It was an amazing dream. I hope one day Medusa will be able to *visit you* as well.
Hi Julie. Oh, your Medusa was such a beautiful, sweet doggie. Like Rachel, her photo touched me so. I am so very sorry to hear of her passing:( But I know that her life with you here on this earth was a very happy one; one that was filled with great love. Please accept my heartfelt sympathies for your loss. And hugs for dear, sweet Hope, our miracle dog! It was so good to hear that she is doing so well!! She truly is amazing!:)
Wow, that dog if beautiful. Congratulations on having such a wonderful pet.
Today is a most glorious day as it is Hope's "first" birthday! It was one year ago today that she was found and no one thought she would make it and look at her now! We celebrated with sugar free peanut butter, liver and cheese cookies and lots of tears of joy. Miracles do happen and we have to continue to have faith. Thanks to all of you for helping me and being with me on this wonderful journey!
For those of you who hadn't seen Hope when we got her 1 year ago, here is what she looked like. :( :(
I can't believe its been a year! I hope she had just the greatest birthday. She had a real sad story when she was rescued - but not real sure of the details anymore. She was found starving by the mountains and was blind right?
You have done wonderful with her and she looks so good!
Oh, Julie. That does my heart good, first thing in the morning, to see this precious girl, after all she has been through, looking so healthy and content in her little bed!!! Happy Anniversary, precious Hope. What a wonderful year you have had!!! :D
I still can't believe the terrible condition she was in, just one year ago, and then to look at her now. Julie, you are an angel. Thanks so much for letting us celebrate with you all! :D
bless your heart, I forgot how she looked.
Miracles do happen because of people like you. :)
Happy 1 year birthday-anniversary Hope.
What a great way to wake up in the morning!! Thanks Julie for sharing. You are truly a miracle worker and one of my heroines!! I appreciate you letting us participate in Hope's first "birthday" celebration albeit through the computer. Please give her a big hug and kiss from the Kendalls!! I'm sure your love and devotion is given back hundreds of times over. Hope girl, I sure hope you enjoyed your peanut butter and liver and cheese snacks!!
