Lol. I've know a few kids that could use that.;) Do you watch America's Next Top Model? I love that show. Naima is a beautiful girl. Did you watch it last night? Naima nailed it on the runway didnt she? I really like Tyra Banks. She truly seems to care about all those girls. :)
I sort of watched it last night. I was at work. I taped it and watched it today. I would have been happy if either Naima or Kahlen won but I think Naima is so much better. Naima kicked some butt on the runway!
Little Miss Keenyan thought she had it in the bag didnt she? She was sure shocked when she was sent home.
Chiming in ~ I rooted for Naima all the way through. Though, I would have been happy too if Kahlen won.
We had a snafu up here in Alaska though, can you fill me in?
When they were down to the final 3 and they were getting ready to announce whether it was Kahlen or Keenya. Well, the TV station fritzed out and when they came back on and when they came back Keenya was already gone.
What did they say to her? How did she respond? I bet she was shocked, be she thought she had it all sewed up.
I started a discussion in the general area for everyone.
Boy could we use THAT at the funeral home!!!
I'd like to take that with me when I go shopping. There's only one store in the area that requires parents to be within three feet of their kids at all times.
I'll take two. One for each hand. :D
I know this is just in jest, and I wasn't going to say anything, but if someone posted a dog zapper for a dog, I think we would be getting negative feedback...whether or not is was serious or in jest.
I do have a toddler, and I know they can get unruly at times...but I didn't find this too funny...although, I am aware that it is a joke...i just thought that it would have been a double standard if this was posted about a dog...just my 2 cents...in all seriousness...i am not trying to start issues...b/c i AM NOT like that, but it was something I thought was worth pointing out, anyway.
:o :p  :D
I understand where your coming from christiansmommy...I did think it was funny though...I was especially interested in the "teen setting" hehe
The only reason I posted about needing one at the funeral home is because lately we've had services with lots of totally unruly children. It seems the parents could give two rats patoots what their children are doing, where they are, and how they are behaving. I did not mean to offend anyone, especially you Christiansmommy.
If you could see some of the things people's children do and the way they behave, you'd be shocked, believe me. (Having pillow fights with the pillows from the couches in the lounge, jumping on the couches, taking soot from the fireplace and writing on the mantle, bouncing a tennis ball against the wall). The list goes on.
Are other persons than parents allowed to used it? This should be the most Frequently Asked Question there :)).
Last week we had a child at a visa interview and she was really showing ALL she could do. I understand that children are unruly sometimes, but I really HATE when parents don't do anything, especially when all of this is happening at some official meeting grrrrrr.
And I think a joke should be taken as a joke. We're becoming boringly political correct lately! (soon, we'll start asking for special explanations in the titles of comedies!!! )
No, the kids would be. lolQuote:

They make shock collars for dogs, too bad they don't make them for kids.
You didn't offend me :)Quote:

Vio and Juni~ And BTW, I know that is a joke and should be taken as such, I personally, just didn't find it funny. The only thing I thought about it when I saw it, was that "if" it were commented that dogs should have shock collars, there would be a huge discussion about it, and it might be taken more seriously...bc that seems to be a more sensitive topic here. Anyway, as I said, not offended here, just wanted to bring out that thought that stuck out to me...that's all.;)
BTW~ i can't stand kids out of control, either. But just like we say in the dog world..."It's not bad dogs, it's bad owners"...there the same applies for kids, " It's not bad kids, it's parents who don't know how to raise them"...they certainly don't start out that way, ya know.
Anyway, all just my opinion.
:D
Precisely why I put it in the dog house.
You should see the kids that come to Adoption Days... some of them are good as gold, others, well... we had to put blankets over several cages at the last AD because two kids upset them so much. We stopped an adoption in the middle of it because if they were scaring the cats so much at Petco, imagine the horrors they'd be at home!
I find that people who's children run amok like that are the most insulted when you politely ask them to assert some control over their child's behavior. We should have one at every AD, and each time a kid pulls a cat's tail *zap* 'em and they'll get the message ;)
Wish I had one tonight!
I am doing Concert Security for an All Ages show tonight...Believe it or not though out of 500 screaming, hyper kids in a hot and stuff concert hall, the ONLY time I have a problem is with the ADULTS! Go figure...
lmao!!! :D:D:DQuote:

I have to admit that this was basically my first thought also. I don't know why but the first thing that popped into my head was if I had made a joke about using a ZAPPER on Katie or Tori OR a PRONG collar I would be in deep doo doo here at Pet Talk.Quote:

I know its a joke and I did have a grin when I was looking at it but I couldn't help but think how some people have double standards. :D :p
I think it is just easier to laugh at because a mouthy/snotty adolescent (NOT aimed at any of the younger PTers) seems much less innocent than an animal. Of course, even jokingly I couldn't chuckle at the thought of a toddler or small child being zapped. I guess I picture one of those snotty girls that I went to high school with telling their mom to shut up and getting a zap, then I can laugh :p. In all fairness, there's probably more adults I'd like to zap from time to time :D
I love it. LOL.
I don't think any would be made at you for properly using a prong collar :) There was a very recent thread in Dog General about chokers versus prongs, and alot of people voted prong, including myself :)Quote:

I'd love to have that for the brats (any age!!) that I see in stores or in the roads or what not. If their parents aren't around exerting their right to parenthood, THEY get zapped too.
heeheheehee
EXACTLY. Some people need to get a backbone and teach their children manners.Quote:

Personally, I thought it was hilarious! - but then, I'm not a 'kid person.' I told my husband that I'd found the perfect gift for his aunt; she could really use it.
One problem I see with his family and some on my dad's side of the family is that these kids have too much stuff. I know parents want to give their children the life they never had but do they *really* need a GameCube or a Playstation 3 the second it comes out? Can it not wait until their birthday? Or does your fifth grader need a cellphone? My friend was a student teacher last semester and she taught fifth graders, some of who, yes, had their own (not borrowing mom or dad's) cell phone.
I didn't grow up rich by any stretch of the imagination but I grew up comfortable. There was nothing that I *needed* that I didn't have. There were things that I *wanted* but unless it was Christmas or birthday or some really special event, I saved up my allowance and bought it myself.
Anyway, I'm off the subject and I don't want to offend anyone out there. It's just I've seen these kids backtalk their parents and other relatives and I want to scream! - maybe I'd feel different about the cellphones and such if they were nice, polite children who seemed to deserve them....but like I said, I'm not a kid person, I'm an animal person. I know there are many people that are both...I'm just not one of them.
Neither am I , Lady_Zana. My best friend told me it takes a big person to admit that. I admire you! ;)Quote:

Ah, let the flogging begin. I'm not one either! However, that's not why I put this here. It's tongue in cheek kind of humor. And, this is directed to the people out there that call themselves parents but do nothing of the sort and let their kids run wild in stores, etc. I was at a Pizza Hut for lunch one day and cringed because I saw a pretty big kid party. They were around 9 years of age. I ended up telling the teachers how much I appreciated their great manners, as it was very rare.
I don't have any issue with folks that aren't kid people....I don't like it when people hate kids because like everyone has said its usually the parents fault.
Anyway its a good thing everyone doesn't want kids this planet would get too crowded.
I know there are good parents out there with good kids, but it seems that the most irresponsible, stupid, poor people have more kids at one time than they can raise or take care of properly which means the world is filling up with a bunch of poor dummies that society has to pay for as they grow up on welfare and then when they are in jail. Can we say, mandatory sterilization? The people that should be having kids don't want to or they only have one or two. Go figure. Come on smart people, it's time to outnumber the idiots, start pumping out more kids. ;)Quote:

Don't forget insanity is hereditary, you get it from your kids;)

I'm living proof of that, my mom is CRAZY. ;)
Well you already know how I feel about children. That being said I thought this was hilarious. I know quite a few children who really need something like this to adjust their rotten little attitudes, because their parents were too laxidasical to bother to discipline them and set guidelines. So they just run riot. BLEH
Namely, a few of the ones that use the pool every day and SCREECH as though they're being tortured, just for the heck of it. Oh dog, that is SOOOOO annoying. *gnashing teeth and growling under her breath*
Or perhaps the group of teenage hellions who like to congregate at the bench just outside of our condo unit, smoke pot, insult each others genital size, and throw bicycles at each other.
Or perhaps the ones that demolished the wooden fence just down the way, or the ones that sprayed graffiti all over the nice wooden footbridge...

Thank the goddess I had the sense to get snipped. :p
That's the problem, people with sense don't have kids. :rolleyes:Quote:
