She's beautiful! Hi, Mavis! :)
Hi Mavis! You're CUTE!
Awwwww! Mavis sure is adorable.:D
Hi Mavis!! What a pretty girl you are! Love that foot!
Rose,
She is precious!! I love those blue eyes!! I'm a sucker for meezers!
Isn't she lovely!?
So, how do baby meezers become rescue cats? They don't seem to be your average "stray".
Hello Mavis! Where did you come from, sweetie?
I guess the Meezer gene can come out at any time.Quote:

Her littermates were all tabbies.
They were all in the shelter and the others started to sneeze, and they were put down. :(
She was not sneezing and Siamese Rescue stepped in.
She was not saved because she is a Meezer, but rather because she wasn't sneezing. Now she is sneezing.
I really don't understand. I know it takes a lot of 'mom' power to get a kitten through a URI (if she ever does get it) but why is a sneeze a death sentence?
So sad, for those who were lost, poor little tabbies.
WE NEED MORE PEOPLE WILLING TO FOSTER.
Please help.

I did not know that about the "meezer" gene. Interesting!
SHE'S GORGEOUS!! MAVIS IS SURE TO FIND A HOME FAST:D :D
JEN, GO FOR IT!! I TRIED BUT WAS RULED OUT BECAUSE I CAN'T DRIVE...
ROSE, I DON'T GET THE DEATH SENTENCE FOR URI:confused: :( I KNOW IT HAPPENS THOUGH:rolleyes:
WHEN MY NOW HUGE TUX DOM CAME HE'D A TERRIBLE URI. NOW HE'S THE BIGGEST OF ALL MY KITTYS!!
Well at the shelter they came from, they put the kittens down if they start sneezing. :(
Here at PT I have learned that in many shelters a sneeze is a death sentence:( Look at Little Orphan Annie rescued by Soapets.
I am so glad Mavis was saved and I am sure you can get her over her sneeze just like Soapets did.
If I was close.......... I would like to get to know a meezer purrsonality from close:)
Mavis is adorable! Lookit those baby blues.
Sublime !
Wow - beautiful!
hello Mavis you pretty blue eyed baby girl. I think you are quite a heart stealer. And quite a lucky girl too by the sounds of it thankfully you didn't get that death sentence sneeze while in the shelters care and that the meezer resue go to you in time.
Well,
Beauty is only fur deep.
She's getting tons of inquiries, but not appropriate ones.
Now, we are starting to have behavior problems with her!
I can't believe it, in a kitten so young.
She has been biting and striking and it goes beyond play.
Her posture and her eyes are very weird.
Here's what's happened today:
Her and Daddy had some 'good time' in the massage chair. Later, I went in
there and she was SO sweet. Climbing up on me, sitting on my lap. Playing
with my buttons. So, I decided just to drowse off, for a few minutes.
Then she started in on my hand, which was curled under and not threatening.
Eventually she 'worked herself up' and was standing on me, ears 'bolt
upright', OPEN MOUTH, eyes dilated, figuring out where to strike me. She'd
go right at my chest, or arm, or sweater.
I wanted to figure out if she'd jump right at my face or not. She didn't
dare do it.
She didn't let up with this behavior , so I left.
I don't have a cat here that would be really suitable for her to work out her energy on. I've got all sensitive types, and the other foster kitten is doing so well, socially. Still on the shy side, I don't want to 'mess her up,'
We have a definite 'wild child' on our hands.
Not sure how to proceed....
Sounds like she needs someone (a cat) to wallop her good! Do you know of any other foster homes near you that would have a "sparring partner" for her? Someone to teach her finesse in dealing with people?
That's what I was thinking, but only Mr. Jones would not be too 'sensitive' for her. He doesn't want to spar, he want's everyone to leave him alone.
Mr. Jones doesn't really go upstairs much, I'd have to bring Mavis down, and she doesn't know the territory yet. (not that that would bother her much)
Snowy, Bella and of course Malfi (my medical) boy are not good candidates.
I suppose in some meezer genes there is some serious rambunctiousness and pretty Mavis seems to have a part of those. Maybe a meeting with Mr Jones would not be to bad to learn a little more social skills among cats;)
Well, this morning, Caramella (the other, slightly larger, shyer, foster girl)
was wanting to see in Mavis' beddroom, so I opened the door. Out Mavis runs.
Mavis bristled, and was just inches from Caramella. Mella proceeded to hit Mavis on the head repeatedly. It didn't deter Mavis.
So they raced and chased around the foyer, and postured and smacked eachother. And Mella even would persue Mavis, eventually the glimpses I caught were of Mavis always chasing Mella. So, I ended the play session.
I think it was a good step.:)
I didn't think Mella would hold up so well, as she still has minor issues with the 'big cats'.
Hopeful.
Mavis is adopted!
She will be an only girl with a mama who stays home to work. I don't know how much work she will ever get done, especially since she used the word 'paints'
:D
Rosethe , mii de pupici pentru tine prietena draga si scumpa;)
Good luck in your new home, Mavis! I'm sure you will be spoiled rotten! :D
Congratulations! can't wait to see your NEXT foster ;)
he os so cute!
I'd love to work at home with someone like Mavis:D
