Seriously, though - I have a bad neck and back, and when my neck is really killing me, I will often lie with my head hanging part off the bed - it's kinda like 'home traction' when I can't get into my chiropracter right away - maybe that position is soothing to her in some way?

Actually there is room on the big bed for both of them. What about taking up the little bed to see if they might be willing to cuddle up together on the big one.

LauraT7, no, they both love the big bed more so than the small bed. It's just like you said- the Peke is alpha by far. My Grey is SO submissive, it's borderline spook. Sometimes, if the couch isn't taken, she'll climb on there and spread across the whole thing. As for cuddling, the Peke isn't a cuddler, let's just say;) :o
