My poor girl..

Daisy had to go to the vet today. :(

We noticed for the past couple of days that Daisy had a scab about the size of a quarter on the top of her head. Well, last night it looked worse (it was raw, fleshy, and bleeding a bit), so my mom brought her in today to get it checked out.

They shaved the top of her head to clean it, and gave her a shot of antibiotics (along with that dreaded cone..) They also gave us two different types of pills (antibiotics) to give to her two times a day (so, she takes four pills a day in all) and some cream to rub on the wound.

It looks much better already. I have NO idea what could've caused it, and according to my mom, the vet really doesn't either.

I hope she feels better soon. She's been looking pitiful all day. :(

Maybe she just bumped it, or molly and her were playing too ruff one day.... Im sure it's nothing to worry about.

Oh no! Poor little Daisy girl! :(. I'm glad to hear it's looking better already though. Why would she have to wear a cone though, I wouldn't think she could bother it on top of her head, unless she rubbed it on things I suppose. Hopefully she won't have to wear it much, I know how much that upsets my two to have to wear a cone. Poor little girl! Give her a gentle hug and kiss from me please? And Tommy spends slurpy kisses and get well wags for his girl ;)

Julie, didn't the vet tell you that it could have been a hot spot? From the look of it and the medications he gave you, that's what it looks like. They are nothing serious and improve quickly.

I hope she starts feeling better soon.

Alicia - DOH! Now that I look at it, it does look like a hot spot. :o I just got off the phone with my mom, and she said that the vet did mention that it might be a hot spot, but he wasn't exactly sure (I wasn't there when she was taken to the vet, I was at school).

Are you feeling any better yet, Daisy. Dusty gets those nasty hot spots sometimes too and that's what his look like. At least it's not oozing like they sometimes do.
