lucy is in Emrg hospital,, prayers please

Lucy is at the emerg hospital right now,,, she suddenly got very puffy in the eyes and face,, bumps all over her,,, I am so scared!!!!!
\Please pray for her!!!! I am waiting at home while hubby drove her there

Sounds like she is having an allergic reaction to something. Hopefully some meds and she'll be just fine! Thoughts and prayers to her!

allergic reaction or a spider/snake bite??? ive seen that several times where the dogs get swollen in the face from spider/snake bites...

Oh my Lorraine I'm so sorry to hear this. :( It does sound like an alergic reaction to something, maybe what she's been on for problem. Prayers and thought's with you, it has to be so hard waiting to hear from your husband. I know I would go crazy. Let me know as soon as you hear anything ok. I sent you an email last night asking how Lucy was doing, did you get it?

Lucy was in pretty bad shape upon arrival at the emerg but the vets gave her two shots right away,,, one of Benadryll and an antibiotic..... It appears to be indeed an allergic reaction but to what,, we arent entirely sure.... she had 1 bone marrow cookie and that all before she had this happen... so its either that or the theory of an insect bite of some kind..... but its cold as heck here,, snow on the ground and she wasnt out further then the top step this morning,,,, there are no spiders about.... or bugs????

Her ears are VERY thick and VERY sore to touch... right now,, she is on the couch looking out the front window watching the ice pellets fall.....if she isnt any better by @6 pm our time,, we have some more benadryll to give her...

thanks for the prayers and thoughts of concern,,,,, she sees our vet on tuesday now instead of tomorrow as there wont be any surgery tomorrow after this,,,,

With it being cold out side spiders do come in thats how Merlin got his. It had to be I found a huge web and younins in the basement after I got Him well. I think they came up around the pipes.

An allergic reaction is what first came to my mind. Otis had an allergic reaction to his Rabies Vaccination last year. :(

WEll this morning,, her poor ears are still swollen and she is very sleepy from the benadryll we have had to give her last night and this morning,,, I called my reg Vet and they want to give until noon today,, if her ears arent improved,, she will have to go in for some more drastic treatment of some kind.... she is in pain for sure as if you try to feel her ears,, no matter how gentle I am,, she pulls away and squirms,, almost making a face at me,,,, she is sleeping on the couch all curled up in a blanket for the time being,,,, Man,,, its been so stressful,, between Lucy and this storm that hit us over the weekend,,, its been hell on wheels!!!! We have over 100.000 ppl without power,,,, school closures,,, and its snowing again! At least we havent lost power..... so far!

things will be better as soon as my Lucy is better,,, nothing is right unless she is! You know what I mean? thanks for the thoughts and inquiries about her,,, I am a very stressed out mommy here!!!!!

Lucy still has a slightly swollen ear but she is better,,, the vet said she is concerned that the type of tumor that the thing might be,,, when its aggravated,, it can release enuff chemical (Cant recall the right word she used) to cause her to react badly,, much like the allergic type reaction she had expeirenced.. so in the end,, we really have to opt for surgery.... DAMN! and right before Xmas too,,, dont the timing just bite eh?? LOL,,, No time is a good time for surgery tho,, but if she needs it,,, She will get it. for now,, she will have more benedryll until her ear is better.
