Sad Update
I realise I've been scarce from PT for a while. Moving and a new job have been contributing factors, as well as a lot of the drama popping up on here. heh... But things have slowed down enough for me to update everyone, since y'all were always so nice about my feline furkids. :)
The past few weeks have been very hard on this family. Soon after we moved in all the cats (with the exception of Dragon and the 3 little ones we were bottle feeding) got very sick. Runny stools, no appetite for food or water. They went down hill so fast! We borrowed money from everyone and their mother to pay for their vet bills, but it did no good. The whitecoats did everything they could, but the only ones who made it were Sebastian and Joey (and the 4 who didn't get sick). We don't know what happened, the vets don't know what happened, and we couldn't afford a necropsy despite wanting answers. I'm afraid Joey has crawled off and died of a broken heart, however, since I have seen nothing of my blue-eyed boy since he came home to find most of his family gone. We have looked everywhere, in cabinets, etc, and have found nothing. Sebastian continues to wander around the house crying, finding very little comfort in the 3 little ones.
I feel like I have lost 5 of my children. Katie, Julius, Hector, Cleo and Joey. I have never felt so helpless. I'd like to thank everyone for all their kind comments when I've posted pics and videos, and I'm sure my furkids appreciate it too.

Oh no! I am so sorry to hear this! Such little sweeties, I just can't help it, but tears are just flowing like water for you and those sweet little dears. You have really went through so much, I wish you had let us known sooner. My heart just goes out to you.

OH MY GOD! THis is awful! I am sitting here crying! How are you coping with loosing so many? I would be totally and completely one big mess and not functional at all! This is to much to grasp. I am so terriably sorry!!!

Thank you all for your kind words. It gets easier with every day, and I'm lucky to have 3 little ones to help ease the pain, as well as my canine companions. Life goes on, and so must I.
I will get some pics of the wee ones to post. They're enough to bring a smile to anyone's face. :)

I'm so sorry to hear of your tragic loss! :(:(
Did the vet say anything about possible Distemper?? Formal name is Panleukopenia. It hits cats, ESPECIALLY kittens very quickly because their immune systems are so fragile and not quite strong enough to fight it off.
The symptoms of Distemper are fever, loss of appetite, diarrhea, lethargy, weakness.

I'm so sorry to hear you lost so many precious ones. It sounds very much like panleuk/distemper as Moosmom mentioned. I've had it hit here a few times, and it's a devastating virus. Symptoms all sound to me like that was the case. I take in so many rescues year after year, that I've decided that better safe than sorry, and I vaccinate all that are old enough to be done. But sometimes vaccines can't be used if the kitties are sick already with URI. I do my best to isolate newcomers and cover cages, and wash between each new group, but there's times when even that doesn't work, and the virus from hell hits. :( RIP all the little ones that are now angels over the Bridge. :(
