Has anyone thought any more of this?
We briefly discussed it Saturday but we weren't sure what would work with everyone.

There are still a few Ohio Pet Talkers who have never :( attended a
"Gathurin at Findlay" - You're missin a LOTTA *Phunn Times*!!

We usually hold the Gathurins on SUNDAYs -
but we're open to a Saturday *IF* that would be better for more folks.

Let's get started by listing days or weekends that WON'T work for you -
HOPEfully we'll wind up with a couple days that EVERYone who
wants to come can pick from.

Keep in mind we're dealing with OHIO Weather ~
I've shoveled :eek: SNOW on Halloween;
and mowed the grass over Christmas! :rolleyes:

I have softball games on the 3rd and the 10th, with a rain date of the 17th. (none have been rained out so far!) We are not doing the haunted house, so that is not a problem...

There is always the chance of working weekends in October becuase it is end of the month at work, but so far we are doing okay. Factoring Staci's work, I'm thinking maybe the weekend of of the 23-24?

October 9th & 10th are bad for me but any other weekend should work.

I think that the last weekend would work for me.

I will be doing the haunted house thing, but that will be in the evening. Don't have anything planned for any weekends so far.

Just about any Sunday would work for me.

I have a wedding and two clam bakes on Saturdays in Oct :rolleyes:

So saturday's would be bad for me :(

I would want to come, but the thing is, my parents. My parents say "Do you even know these people?" kind of thing. I guess their unsure, and everything. I would love to come, because I know Elvis would have the time of his life.

I'm thinking just about any Sunday would be good for us:)

Either weekend I think will work for me. I have to work 3rd shift on the 31st so I won't be able to stay late.

Personally, I would be leaning toward the first of those weekends, the 24th. There is just too much chance I may be working the 30-31, andif not I'd sortalike to do something Halloween-y

Sounds like the 23/24 is a weekend that no one has a "problem" with...

I have been thinking - since I don't want to make Chili this year as the ^&*( I made last year made ME sick, how about a crock pot of Veggie Soup?

TIME??

The "Locals" (Diana & Carrie) have been know to arrive
as early as 10:00 AM...

Cinder & Smoke try to arrive around 11:00 AM...

The "Gang" starts showin up by Noon...

"Full Howze" by about 1:00 PM.

You're not :eek: "Late" till about 4:00 PM...

And we're all "supposed" to be out by *Dark* ~
when the Park oficially "closes".

I haven't read the message boards for a while now, but was told about this post by another memeber...

I live in SE Ohio (about 2hrs from Findlay I think).... and would be interested in hearing more about this...

There are no dog parks close by (that I am aware of) but I'm sure I have a Collie or two that would love to go and run and play with other dogs..

Prolly the best thing to do is start at Page 1 on one of the Threads
we've posted for Previous Findlay Gathurins...

We start "planning" sometimes months before;
work on the "menue" a couple weeks before;
pass out travel guides;
arrange car pools; etc.

The Big Day arrives amid much Hoop-La;
and then we post Pix & Tailz for a week or two AFTER the Bash! :D

I guess that means I'm bringing potato salad - and probably some brownies! (I was wondering what I would bring when it turned colder - guess that problem is solved.)

I'll probably bring a pasta salad and some kind of dessert. I'd love to make a hot dish but I don't think it will keep well for the long car ride. I think I'll pick up some hot dogs and buns also.

I can't go - I promised to sing at a church function that morning and again at 4:00 that afternoon. The trip from south of Columbus to Findlay would make it impossible for me to go - unless I brought my boys to church with me - and I don't think that would go over too well....
