Ok, I was mowing my lawn and saw these 2 rocks, no big deal right? WRONG. Loo at these CUTE rocks!!

Update at 6:00pm - They Are Home In There Nest

Update at 2:08 AM - Baby 2 or Cargan, as I now call him is back. I found him almost frozen to death on the ground. He was barly breathing and I thought he was dead. I put him inside under a warming lamp (no light, just heat) and he seems to be doing better. He is breathing well again and he is nice and warm. I'm worried if I put him up there in the nest he will kicked out again and freeze or be eaten, hmm. I am going to be calling a rehabilitator tomrrow and hopefully they can take him. I was hopeing to never see him again. :(

Update 9:33 Am- Cargan has passed on. I'm hopeing and praying the other little one stays where it is!

Just a guess but I think they look like Robins.

you have held then with your bare hands already so putting them back in the nest may not be a good idea... but that is just a guess. wouldent the parents reject them because of the human scent on the babys? not sure but I THINK that is what I remeber reading at some point

No, they won't reject them. Be careful when you put them back, Ash; some birds are very territorial and will attack you. Then stay inside for a good while to make the parents feel comfrotable again. They should resume their care. :)

Glad you missed hitting the "rocks"! They do look like robins to me. Put them back but keep a close eye. Depending on the bird, they might throw them out of the nest. They look awfully healthy so I doubt they were "throw aways" to begin with. Where was the nest, in a tree or on the ground?

OMG! Poor babies! They're so cute. They *look* like baby robins to me, but I really have no idea what they are for sure.

From what I've heard, birds rejecting their young if humans touch them is a myth. They won't reject their babies if you put them back.

Babies are happy in there nest again! My dad came home and he got a latter and put them back!!

We will watch them to make sure it is all ok.

EDIT: Hooray! I see I posted right as you were. I'm glad the babies are back in the nest.

I was doing research when we had our baby birds. Touching them doesn't matter because it said they had a very poor sense of smell. If you can get them back in the nest, that is what is suggested. They're so cute. We miss ours. I have empty nest syndrome.

DDM - I did put them back. Yea, I've known that was a myth for awile. :)

:D I saw one BIG momma butt out there tonight sitting on the nest!! So mommie is VERY happy to have her babies back :D

DUH! Stupid me! I forgot she and Aly posted a link! lol Yea, a local vet will give me some names also so I plan on calling him as soon as the open. Maybe if the rehab. guy can't take him maybe they will take him for a lil while....
