You're all invited to Kia's Birthday Party! Saturday, June 26th

On Saturday, June 26th, I will be hosting Kia's 6th birthday party at Orion Oaks Bark Park in Lake Orion, MI.

Anyone and everyone is invited, even if you don't have a dog. :)

The Mundane Info:

Where: Orion Oaks Bark Park
When: Saturday, June 26th
Time: Roughly 1:00 p.m.

The Bark Park entrance is located on Joslyn Rd. (exit 83 off of I-75) between Waldon Rd. and Clarkston Rd.

A day or annual permit is needed to PARK in the Bark Park lot, but no permit is needed for the dogs. Day permits are sold at the Main Entrance to Orion Oaks Park on Clarkston Rd., between Baldwin and Joyslyn Rd.

I'm not sure if the 'guard' to the Bark Park lot sells day passes or not. I'll ask him next time we go.

Having a permit will not guarentee a spot in the lot. It is small and can fill up quickly, especially on nice days.

Canterbury Village is less than a mile south of the Bark Park. Andy and I have parked there and walked to the Bark Park. It's a nice walk. There is also a school parking lot just Northeast of the Bark Park entrance. I've parked there before too. We've recently been told that anyone parking in the school lot will be ticketed, but we've had no problems.

So, for those that don't want to risk that, I have no problems shuttling those that want to park at Canterbury to the Bark Park and back, if you don't want to walk.

Now to the Fun Stuff:
Orion Oaks' Bark Park offers seven fenced acres with lake access for dogs to swim, wide-open spaces, woods and fields; drinking water is available on site.

I will be providing refreshments again. :) If I can get a decent headcount, I'll have Frosty Paws for the pups.

All in all, just come on out and have a good time. :D

I would LOVE TO COME but am not sure if I can, I have to work 3rd shift that nite......... I might just go without sleep. Maybe I can ride along with Diana or Amy (if they can go)..... if I can get back at a decent hour.

Got a very "curt" :eek: email from Andy's mom stating that his cousins Graduation Party is that Sunday.

This sounds like so much fun! I wish I could go. I'm trying to figure out how far away it is. It sounds like a wonderful park.

Unfortunately, it's way too far for me :( I would love to go to one of the big meetings. Maybe I can plan for Ohio for next year. I would be willing to drive Duke up there.

Hey Staci! I PM'd you my number. It's $10 a day to park in the Bark Park parking lot. The guy at the gate sells the tickets. Or you can park across the road for free at the Elementary school.

The school is on the right hand side and slightly past the dog park entrace, which is on the left. :)

Here's some I-75 roadwork info.... I saw a sign while on I-696 that said I-75 SOUTHBOUND between 8 Mile Rd. and Davison was closed. :eek: hmmmm..

So I jumped on M-DOT and I can't find anything about the whole freeway being closed (as the sign said). Just lane closures here and there for shoulder work.

I'm disappointed we didn't get to come, esp. since it has been so long since we have seen Graham and Kersey and Leslie!!!
