Who'd a thunk it!?!?

Well, for those of you that know the history of Kylie and Keegan this is one giant leap for dog/cat kind. :p
When Keegan was a puppy, I about pulled my hair out several times. She was constantly pouncing on Kylie, snapping at her, pawing at her all in play. She still sometimes does it in play, but Kylie bats at her which Keegan doesn't think anything of b/c she is declawed. (FYI - she was declawed when I got her - I didn't do it) I didn't think they would EVER EVER EVER get along!!
When I first gave Kylie a bath awhile ago, Keegan sat outside the bathroom door and whined and whined b/c she could hear her sister crying. The other day, I opened up my bathroom door and there they sat side by side right in front of the door. I wished I had my camera!!!
Now today I walk out of the bathroom door and this is what I find, I had to hurry to get to the camera before one of the moved!!!

this is Keegan's normal spot when I am in the bathroom for any amount of time

neither of them moved hardly anything but their eyes

they just looked as content as can be!!!

look at where Kylie's back paws are.....
as stated before she is declawed, she can use those back ones as weapons when she wants to but she is just resting them

Shais Mom, that is *SOOO* exciting!! I can feel your excitement from here!! I know exactly what you mean. I have the same thing with Malone & Marigold, so when they sleep near each other, it's a momentous occasion! ;)

Oh Boy do I understand the jopy fo seeing your two getting along! Nicki tends to run from Allen... she is ok about Pouncer, but he's never jumped from the stairs onto her back either!

They both look perfectly content laying with each other. I just love the pictures with Kylie's paws up against Keegans muzzle...too CUTE!:D

Aww! Patience does pay off. I left my two this morning in pretty much the same position as your two in those pics. They are almost cuddling! It's only taken a little over a year! Congrats!

2 1/2 years of all that hard work for nothing!! :eek:

Awww how cute!! Isn't it great to see things like that? I'm always amazed when I find Reggie and Nebo laying by eachother...Reggie still growls at him all the time, but apparently they can get along when they are tired. ;)

Staci these are soooo cute! Eventually everything does work out. My dogs and cats coexist peacefully too and it's such a good feeling.

Since Kylie was laying on her back she obviously was not feeling one bit threatened. Take heart - it will only get better from here. I think she was just trying to let Keegan know not to take advantage of her! :p Your two are beeaauutifuuul!! :)

I don't know how I missed this thread before, but the pictures are adorable!!!

I don't remember ever not having both at least one cat and one dog at the same time. Since then whenever a new furkid comes into the house they just feel it's normal for cats and dogs to get along (as if my house is EVER "normal") :rolleyes: Oh yeah, natural enemies - sure ;) Way to go Staci! Patience is a virtue so they say, and you are certainly both :cool:
