Killian's designated 10th birthday!!!

Today Killian is 10 years old!!! :D We have given him this date (he is a rescue, so we don't know for sure exactly, but it's close) because he came to us with the Irish name of Killian and he sure does LOVE Corned Beef!!!! Who ever would have thought that Killian would live this long withstanding three years of liver disease and autoimmune disease.

Hugs and big kisses to my lover-boy, Killi!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am soooo glad we rescued him on Sept. 15, 1996 when he was 2 1/2 and on death row!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He has been doing pretty well, considering... His autoimmune disease is causing some flare-ups here and there. He no longer has an undercoat at all. His skin is a bit flabby, too. However, he is in good spirits and still loves to give kisses, go for rides and short walks!! His liver is still working, so I am very grateful. Not too sure at what level though, the last test said it was getting worse, but of course we know that is what is going to happen. He is still feeling fine and loving life!!!

Cinder and Smoke, Killi (and Shiloh) have just finished their Corned Beef and potatoes (NO cabbage....LOL). They loved it!!

Killi sends slurps and wags to everyone for their well wishes. We'll see if I can get a picture up (if I can find the latest ones that my daughter took!).

My thoughts exactly. Our dear Killian has overcome more obstacles than we could ever have hoped for, but he did it and his mom was right there in his corner, helping him fight the good fight. I don't know whose will is the stronger, but these two make quite a team. Corned beef sounds like an ideal birthday treat.

And Sandra, count me in with a bottle of that Killian's Red to toast to the Birfday Boy. [clink, clink]
