A year ago tomorrow...

A sweet girl of mine was born.

It was a shortened day of school, March 7th, 2003. My father and I went on a promised trip to the Humane Society.
There we met a litter of gorgeous 8 week old Lab mix puppies. The smallest, tiniest, skinniest, and most active of them all caught our eyes and our heart. We soon were filling out the papers to adopt her into our family. My first "puppy".

So what does that have to do with now? Well -- some of you know already, but it's our sweet girl's birthday tomorrow.
She's turning 1 year old, and it seems like just yesterday I was able to cuddle her in my hands. I still do that of course, but all of my strength is involved in that process now. :p Although Simba is my dream come true dog, she follows closely up there with him. She's an amazing dog, she has been from the start. I can remember every second of that day we got her, I can remember every detail on the ride home. When I think of them, it's like I’m re-living them all over.

She has her times, but overall she is just the most wonderful puppy I’ve ever met. I'm not just saying that because she's mine either.
I remember all of the compliments she got when we took her trick-or-treating on Halloween. No one could believe she was only a puppy.

She's my little baby girl, and as my dad said today when we were talking, we wouldn't trade her for ANYTHING. My dad really never wanted a puppy, but he says he doesn't regret getting her one bit.

I can't believe she's already one. It makes me so sad looking at all of these pictures.

-Nala's first vet trip, she weighed 13.13 lbs, and about a month later she weighed 20 something. Now I believe she weighs 50+ lbs.

Those are just a few of her threads with pictures. I will be posting some more of her tomorrow when she opens her gifts and we'll probably be going to the dog park.

You are so lucky that you found Nala, I can tell that she was a perfect addition to your family. Nala is just so adorable! Happy first birthday, Nala! I am sure you will have a great day, and I can't wait to see the pictures!
