I have an idea! I think we should start a thread where we can keep a record of each of our cats. There are a lot of us here, and it would be helpful for us to have some reference of each cat's story.

We got Noah for David's 26th Birthday present from someone where I used to work. I didn't like cats, but agreed to one because they eat spiders and bugs...and my husband is a cat freak. :) David was allowed a cat on my conditions; had to be a short-haired, orange cat and I got to name it.
We went to the house where Noah was born and got to choose between three orange cats. Noah was the only one with green eyes (as opposed to blue) and was pretty laid back. I chose him because he was the only cat who stopped romping with the others to come sit next to me and stare. :)
He was a bratty little kitten...utterly adorable, but felt I was his play toy and he bit and scratched me to the point of sending me into tears. Thanks to his kitten stage, I learned how to train a cat not to bite, scratch or attack people as well as to not to hurt our furnature or carpet.
Noah is my heart kitty. Wieghing in at 20 pounds, my LONG-HAIRED maine coone mix is a doll. He sleeps on my head at night and calls for me when he's not in the same room as I. He sits on the toilet while I take my nightly baths and keeps me company on the couch while we watch TV.
Noah is 2 years and 8 months old and is a little bit of a brat to people other than David or myself and hates Olivia. :( We're working on those things, but other than that, he's perfect! :D

Aparently, my rough and painful start to cats wasn't bad enough to prevent me from resisting the sweet tortie kitten we saw at PetSmart (L.I.F.E. Rescue) one day.
Noel was about three months old when we saw her in a dark port-o-prision while shopping for cat food for Noah. She looked so scared and pathetic, I HAD to have her.
She adjusted really quickly to us and loved her big brother, Noah, right away. She is now 2 1/2.
She is such a good girl. I'd never actually seen a tortie kitty before I had met David, as his parents have a dilute girl named Zeppy. Noel is so sweet and gentle. Always available for a pet, but doesn't demand attention like the boys. Its so sweet when we do seek her out for some extra love, she becomes instant lap kitty. We actually refer to her as our nap kitty because whenever we take a nap, she finds the napper and joins in. :)

My sweet, Basie Bee. AKA: Bratty!!
We rescued Basie while getting cat food at PetSmart...again! He was a tiny ball of blackish brown fluff that would later turn gray, black, gray and black again....with gray armpit fur. ;) He is the infamous color-changing kitty with the sweetest personality ever.
He's my baby and proves it with his kitten squeak. He never developed a full MEOW and squeaks when he communicates with us and his little sister Hermie.
Basie is two and is a bit of a bratty boy. He likes to chase Micah and Olivia when they don't want to be chased. He looks up to his big brother Noah and seems to be his lacky. ;)
He also adores his little sister, Hermie. They are often found cuddling and grooming each other.
Basie's most favorite place in the world is with his meowmie. If I ever felt unwanted, all I have to do is call his name and I'm wrong. He has to be an angel because he makes my heart flutter and gives me more love than I could ever hope for.

A year ago, Livvy and I had a love affair that lasted about two months.
We began volunteering at the Humane Society and I fell in love with her each time I saw her. We visited her every Saturday for at least two months before I found her in the cat room with other cats...acting just fine! That was enough for me. I about cried the day we signed her adoption papers and brought her home.
Oddly, as soon as we got home, she became David's cat! She loves cuddling up to "daddy" as soon as he gets home each night.
She's a sweet 7 1/2 year old girl, but wants to be head cat. Unfortunately, Noah holds the title for Alpha male AND female as he's not allowing that to happen.
Livvy know's she's loved and I hope that's all that matters. She's such a gorgeous thing...I hope we can give her the life she deserves.

My Micah. :) He's 5 years old and is my other heart kitty.
We were at the HS the day after almost dying during his neutering surgery and were the ones to get him out of his cage. He was terrified of people but REALLY wanted to visit with the cats in the cat room. He was tiny and sickly and dirty.
We later found out that his breeder dropped him off, as well as another breeder cat - who did die during her spay - not wanting him anymore. :(
He and I bonded instantly. He follows me everywhere, sleeps behind my back, sits on my lap in the bathroom, plays fetch, and is a huge lover boy. He loves the camera and is a huge goof!
My Micah has Inflammatory Bowel Disease and I do too. I was diagnosed a week or two after he was. I think that is what makes my bond to him so strong.
After many, many vet visits and different treatments, Micah is now free of his IBD symptoms. He eats a mixture of Innova canned, the RAW diet and some Royal Canin crunchies. :)

After the five, David said, "No more cats!!!" Guess who HAD TO HAVE HERMIE??? ;)
Hermie is now almost 8 months old. We adopted Hermie from the woman I help with TNR. She was found in a wood pile with another tabby close to where we live. David had to have her after she licked his chin the first time he picked her up. I think it helped that Carol and I squealed when she did that. ;)
Hermie is a typical girl kitty and is just a little dear. I love her as an addition to our home.
She's pretty laid back, but is still afraid of loud noises and when people initially come over. She's making progress though. :) Her favorite past times include laying in the sun and snuggling with her big brother Basil. Her first few months here, she used to suckle off him. :)
She always, always sleeps with us at night. Behind my back with Micah or between David and I. She really likes her Daddy...but is still a mommy's girl. ;)

Bassett:
Miss Catitude herself. I got Bassett as a way too young kitten, outside a grocery store in Sisters, Oregon, where my parents live. She was the last one in the box.. very tiny, and oh so cute. I batted my eyelashes at my Dad and he said yes ;)
The first thing she did when we brought her home? Play with poops in the litter box, climb a ankle length coat to the top shelf in the closet, and pee in a basket of clean laundry. She also bit Nathan. HARD. Like I said, Miss Cattitude...
The bond between Bassett and I is hard to describe. It's like she knows what I'm thinking before I do. She is very devoted to me, likes Nathan, and tolerates everyone else - if she must.
Last year her heath struggles almost did me and her in. We suffered through months of vet visits, ultrasounds and xrays. Finally, through the blessing of PTers, we got her surgery. It was very invasive, and very serious. They went in, opened her chest cavity, and did three procedures - ligated (closed off) her thoracic duct, moved her omentum (fatty tissue) into her chest cavity to ack as a wick, and removed her pericardium (sack around the heart). She never lost her "tude" though - she bit a vet tech and was given a huge "CAUTION" sign to post on her cage.. HEHE :o But Auntie Vickie (Slick) can attest to Bassett's sweetness - Auntie got several headbumpies and even a soft purr during her visit to see Bassett at the hospital.
Now, Bassett is better than ever. She's back to her normal, hissy self, playing and eating up a storm. I can't imagine what I would have done if I lost her :)

Phoebe is five months old and a part of a litter David and I rescued while doing TNR.
Three of the four kittens have eyelid agenia (spelling?) and require surgery. We treat them four times a day with Artificial Tears and Terrymician (spelling?) cream.
Phoebe is a polydactyl, gray and white lover girl. She is MY KITTY and I hope she always will be. She was the one that I was afraid to touch because she kepting hissing after we first trapped her and her siblings. She was also the only one to refuse to eat on her own. I had to hand feed her KMR and kitten wet food by putting in on my fingers and my leg so she could bite/lick it off.
Phoebe is, along with Basil and Micah, my constant companion. She sleeps under the covers and only is happy if she's a close as possible and cuddling with me. She uses her extra toes to curl her paw around my arm or fingers so we can hold hands and cuddle. She is, by far, the sweetest thing I've ever met. :) When I call her, she'll flop on the floor, show me her belly and pur! CUTIE!! :D

After my grandmother died, I noticed that Bassett was lonely during the day while I was at school, and the house in general just seemed sad. I started thinking about getting Bassett a playmate, and started calling around to shelters, looking for a young cat (Bassett is the queen, and wouldn't tolerate an adult kitty!)
I came across this sweet calico, then named "Gracie" at Petcetera adoptions. She didn't like to be held, but when she saw me she came up to the cage and stuck her paw out, trying to touch me. She also make all sorts of cutie-pie noises.. and her bright pink nose won me over. I took her home.
I wondered, as we put her in the car, if she would adjust to an indoor life. She had been a stray, and since she didn't like to be held, I was concerned. On the way home, she climbed out of her carrier, into my lap, and turned on the loudest motor I've ever heard. She looked up at me and gave me eye kisses, as if to say "thank you." I knew then, things would be perfect.
At first, she and Bassett were inseperable, but as Bassett's health began to fade, and Nutmeg showed up, Tilly and Bassett no longer get along. They hiss for communication, but lately they have started laying in close proximity again. I still have hope ;)

Sampson is Phoebe's bigger brother. :)
I thought Phoebe was sweet? I guess I forgot about Sampson!! He is the most loving kitten the world has ever seen. He is only happy if he can purr and knead all day long. He is so precious that while he's examined all the time for his eyes, he still purrs and kneads the air!
He and his daddy have what David calls "make out sessions" as many times as David has time for. Sampson will physically wrap his paws around our necks and hug us. He can't get enough love...its the sweetest thing. :)
Strangely, while he loves me too, he truly is David's cat. Its wierd because usually the girls bond with men and males bond with women. Anyhow, he shares that lovin' with me, so I still feel blessed to have him in our home....hopefully forever. :)

Nutmeg:
Nutmeg is the first cat that ever chose ME. I went into a pet supply store to look for treats on a break between classes. The store doesn't sell animals, so you can imagine how suprised I was when I heard a tiny voice squeaking "MEW! MEW!" I turned around to see a cage full of kittens up for adoption through a kitten rescue program. The only tortie was climbing the side of the cage trying to get out. I went and talked to her, and she started licking my fingers. Knowing it wasn't smart of me, I asked if I could hold her.
When the clerk let her out, she went running to the back room because that's where they were allowed play time. I picked her up and said "Don't run away! I just want to see you" and she started to purr and settled right down. Tears came to my eyes. I KNEW I had to have this kitten. I could feel it in every part of me. She was the sweetest thing I had ever met.. so loving even though so young. I told the clerk, "I have to go to class, and I have to talk to my landlord. But I want this kitten, and I'll be back this afternoon with the word." They put my name on her and I left.
I was so distracted in class, I could hardly contain myself. I even had a running list of possible names down the side of my notes. When I got out of class - great news! My landlord said yes and Nutmeg was coming home with me.
She fit in right away. Tilly had a playmate and Bassett was finally left in peace. She is the cuddliest, sweetest, most loving kitty I've EVER known, and I love her to peices.

Storm:
After being without an animal in my life for many years, I finally decided that it was time for me to get a cat because I've always been a big cat lover. I thought I wanted a kitten but it was January and there weren't any kittens around. I decided to go to my local Humane Society to look at their cats. First I looked at all of the cats inside the main building. None of them appealed to me because I was looking for a loving, friendly, affectionate cat.
The lady said that they had another area in a building outside where they kept the strays. I began looking at them and a large black cat caught my eye. I held him and he was very friendly and purring. We were going to go look up his paper work and as I passed the cages a grey paw stuck out at me. There was a very handsome grey cat with gorgeous light green eyes. I stopped and asked if I could hold him. He was very friendly and purring very loudly. I decided right then that this was the cat for me.
They had already named him Storm and I liked it so I kept it because it suited him well. One more interesting fact was that his cage number matched my order to be called number so it really seemed like it was meant to be. I found out that they had accidently put him out with the strays because his former owner had abandoned him. A few days later he developed a nasty URI and had both external and internal parasites. Luckily everything could be treated. While I was nursing him back to health, we formed a very strong bond. He's my heart kitty.
Storm gives me unconditional love,makes me laugh, helps relieve my stress, and is a very caring cat. He knows when I don't feel well or if I've had a bad day. He's the alpha cat and has 3 other brothers. He gets along with all of them except for Cirrus. I sometimes call him my grey doggie because he's a very social cat and he likes to follow me around. He weighs about 14lbs and looks like a Maine Coon mix. He just turned 8 years old and I've had him for 7 years now. I love him very much and I'm very glad that he picked me to be his new meowmie.

Both Jason and I wanted pets, and couldn't live without them. As soon as we were settled in together we went to the SPCA. That's where we found Marshmallow. I had never seen a Persian in PERSON before. I thought she was beautiful. I had my eye on her when we entered the room. She wasn't demanding... (there was one there that WAS, and it really turned me off) she was sweet tempered and calm. We went in imagining we'd come home with a kitten, but Marsha stole my heart.
A month or so later I couldn't STAND just having one cat, so I put on the pouty face for Jason and we went out that day. This time I let Jason decide on which one would come home with us. Marsha went with us for the decision. Jason liked three adolescent males, so we brought each in to the personal encounter room. Pickles was the only one that didn't his at Marsha, so he went home with us. Unfortunately, he was sick when we got him, so not up to par. He turned into a TOTALLY different kitty once we got him well, but I now wouldn't trade him for the world! (even if he did eat my Betta...)

This thread is great. Here are my stories.
Just after getting married in 1993 I asked my husband if I could have a cat. I love animals and could not imagine my new house without a cat. So he said yes and then I pushed it and asked for 2...he said yes again. Tigger and her brother Tony were my very first 2 kitties. I got them from a lady who worked at my local bank. Tigger is actually the runt of the litter and still only weighs in at 7 pounds. She is a very quiet kitty and usually keeps to herself, she is not a lap cat unless it is on her terms (and that is very seldom). At night she loves to sleep right between her mommy and daddy and will actually push you out of bed when she wants more room. Tigger will be 11 years old this April and her daddy and I love her to death. She is so spoiled and loved. I think she is the prettiest of my girls but I'm partial to her tiger stripes. Tigger's story is the most boring as she was not a rescue like the rest of mine.

Smokey...
I rescued Smokey from a friend that I worked with. She was taking out her trash one day and these 2 boys asked her if that was her cat in the trash can. She said NO, and what cat are you talking about, so they showed her this small bundle of fur that was in the bottom of the trash can. It seems that someone no longer wanted him, so they threw him away. When I got Smokey he only weighed in at 3 lbs, and I really thought he was about 6 weeks old. It turns out that he was 6 months old, he was just so malnourished. The day I took Smokey home my hubby and I stopped at Subway to get some lunch and while we were eating the phone rang, Smokey jumped up on the table and ran off with one of my meatballs from the sub. Needless to say, Smokeys theme song is "On Top of Old Smokey", he loves to have it sung to him and sometimes, if I'm lucky he "sings" with me. Smokey will be 10 years old in April of this year and he weighs in at 15.5 pounds, a real big difference from 3 pounds when rescued. Smokey has a very special temperment, you can do anything to this cat and he is never bothered by it. He has been dressed for Christmas and held like a baby doll.
Smokey has had severe medical problems. He is predisposed to urinary crystals. I tried many different foods and medications but nothing seemed to work, so we ended up having surgery to widen his urethera.....thus making Smokey the boy into Smokey the girl. ;)

Tucker
Tucker showed up in my front hedges on a very cold winter night in 1996. I provided shelter, food and warmth for her but she took off down the road on Christmas Day 1996, so all in all I only had her for about 3 weeks. On April 26, 1997 she came walking back up the driveway and has been with me ever since. I have absolutely no idea where she went for those 4 months but where ever it was, she obviously did not like it and decided I provided for her better. She is approximately 17 years old and was obviously abused by whoever had her before me as she has a scar the size of a quarter on the back of her neck where it looks like someone tried to burn her. She is very, very fiesty for her age and is a very grumpy old lady, but I guess if you were that old you might tend to be grumpy too. For an old woman who has been on the streets for probally most of her life, she has the softest, most plush fur of any kitty I know. I hope to have many, many more years with her.
P.S. She is a big Daddy's girl. She sleeps on his chair and ottoman, and loves to be with her daddy.

Mystic and Abner
I will put Mystic and Abner together.
Mystic showed up at my back door in March of 2000. She was rather large in the belly and I really thought she was pregnant. It turns out that she is just large in the belly. My hubby said that the 3 kitties that we had already were ENOUGH!!!! I was told I was not to keep this one.....well I had recently had surgery on my hand and I decided to let Mystic come into the house for a little while. She followed me upstairs and fell asleep on the black velux blanket. When my hubby came home, she blended right in and did not notice her until morning. Needless to say, after that night she was a part of the family. He daddy calls her Flubby Wubbie, because of her big tummy. She loves her daddy the most. She sleeps on his side of the bed, keeping his feet warm on a cold winters night. Mystic has a wierd fettish, she loves her daddys underwear, as soon as he takes them off (or even if they are clean) she will take the underwear (as you can see in the picture) and growl at them, drool all over them and then fall asleep in them.

Abner, also known as Abbey is the baby of the family....and he is my soul kitty. Abner followed a dog to my house when he was about 3 months old. From the moment I laid eyes on him I knew I had to keep him. The bond I have with Abbey is hard to put into words.....just he is my everything. He makes me laugh, he makes me cry (especially when I'm calling for him to come home and he doesn't), he sleeps by my side every night, he gives me attitude with his little yips and yaps. He is just my everything.
Abbey is the alpha cat in the family and he lets everyone know it. Abbey loves to take a shower, go outside under the bird feeders when it is raining and then come in with muddy feet and run upstairs to the bathroom to be "Buffed" (dried off).
My RB Tony was my first soul kitty and I truely beleive that God sent Abbey to be my other soul kity.

He was the first of my two boys. Growing up, I always had a cat, one even slept in my crib with me. I always considered myself a cat person. When my mom remarried, my step-dad HATED cats and his mother FEARED them, so our new home did not include any pets.
I the day husband proposed, we went to my Aunt's house to announce the engagement and there were two little orange kittens - it was a litter or 5 but two were stillborn and one female died a few days later. When we visited my Aunt again, we came home with Allen.
We brought him home and had to hide him becuse our dacshund/lab mix dog, Sammy, thought he was dinner. Litterally, she wanted to eat him. Once Allen was big enough to fend for himself, those two would go at it and be a big black and orange tangle rolling around the floor.... but by that time, the fight was play. After Sammy died, Allen went into a shell and missed playing so he tried with Nicki. Poor Nicki is petrified of smaller animals and would go run and hide whenever he tried to play. Imagine a 100 pound dog afraid of a 15 pound cat! Allen would sit on the banister and wait for Nicki to settle down and then - SLAM - fling himslef onto her back!
He's our mellow guy and pretty much doesn't care what you do to him. He's not much on the affection front - only when he wants it. Lately, he's been more affectionate and will accept it when you try to give it to him. He'se even learned to purr!

Ah, my little baby. We got him when I was in Petco with my mom and my daughters for food. My oldest fell in love with a white Siamese and begged to get it. I fell in love with this guy too so I called my husband who flat out said NO. We left Petco and went to Target, where he called and said, "So what's the new cat's name?" He figured we'd get the kitten anyway. We ran back to Petco and adopted Floyyd. A week later we still hadn't heard from the rescue about when Floyyd would come to live with us and they gave me a song and dance about congenital heart disease... in other words, they accidentally gave him to someone else. I was heartbroken because we decided to add another cat to our family and I wanted one. That Sunday, we went to Petco and they had kittens galore. That is when we met Pouncer. He was this little black striped thng that fit into the palm of my hand, with a little grey tail looking like it was dipped in ink. He sat calmly in my hand while the tail went SWISH-SWISH-SWISH.
What can I say about Pouncer? He's the most loving and sweetest cat I've ever met. From day one, he asserted his personality on the house and has melted my husband's heart. He LOVES his big brother Allen and they cuddle all the time. They groom each other and sleep together, though lately Pouncer's been finding his own hidey hole whereas Allen has his. Somehow they always come back to each other.
Pouncer loves to purr and make biscuits. He will cuddle anytime you want and will become and instant lapcat. He is very forgiving with children and won't argue when they lug him around. He still will sit calmly in anybody's hands while his tail SWISHES... you know he wants down and wants to create some terror somewhere, but he will stay held until you release him.
His favorite pastimes are catching flies, chasing fishies, playing with the computer cursor, and eating.

Kylie is my first cat that I can call my own. So everything she does or goes thru is a first for me since I had never had an indoor cat before. Kylie came to me just shortly after her first birthday. A friend of mine from work had Kylie and her brother Max, and a mean boyfriend who didn't like cats and loathed Kylie b/c of her long hair. After an incidence of throwing her against the wall we decided Kylie needed a safe home. I agreed to it temporarily b/c my friend was going to break up with the guy and wanted Kylie out of harm's way (in fear of retalation). So I agreed to foster her, well after 2 weeks and she was totally attached to me and my dog, Shaianne. And my friend made no effort whatsoever to break up with the psycho, (she has since married him and moved out of state) I knew I was keeping her.
So began my love affair with cats. I had never been much of a cat lover until I got my dog Shaianne, and she totally changed me. She made me a better person. And Kylie and I really bonded after my beloved Shaianne died. She would lick my tears away.
Now Kylie is my sleeping buddy, she has to touch me usually when she sleeps. She loves to curl up beside me or at the end of the couch while I am on my computer. When I sit in my recliner rocker watching TV she sits on my lap if I recline it she crawls to my chest and curls her head in the crook of my neck and sleeps.
I love to watch her sleep, it is so effortless and without abandon. I think we could all take sleeping lessons from our cats!!

Grover
Grover is a whole different story. I got her April 4, 2003, when my daughter brought her home to me from school. She had rescued her out of a trashcan at the vocational school, the mechanics part. She said she went in and seen her lying in the trashcan and picked her up to see if she was still alive. She was still breathing, she found out the boys had found this tiny little kitten in one of the old cars parked at the school. I don’t know if the mother had been in the process of moving her kittens and the boys found her before she got back to get this tiny little kitten. Anyway, the boys brought her in, and decided to play football with her. One boy there said they were kicking her so hard she was actually flying across the room like a ball. Finally, after they had played with her like that for a time, one of the boys figured she was dead and threw her into the trash.
I guess it was just pure luck that Lindsey happen to come over to the vocational school. She found her and put her in a tissue box, and then put that into another box. When my daughter got her out of the trashcan, her and a friend took her to a bathroom and cleaned her up, washed the blood from her nose and the grease off her body. My daughter had to argue with the teachers to let her bring that little kitten into class with her.
I will never forget when she got out of the truck, she was carrying a box, and I told my husband I wonder what she has now. I kind of figured it was a kitten, because she had wanted to get me one for a good while. I never dreamed she was going to bring such a tiny little kitten home. Little Grover had just got her eyes open, and was just crawling. I knew nothing about raising such a young kitten. I tried to look up some homemade formulas on the Internet, but the articles kept telling me that I would do better to buy the orphaned kittens milk. That is what I raised her on, plus putting the baby food meat into her formula, as she got a little older. She never once go diarrhea, she done so well on what I was feeding her. Of course, I worried all the time that I would lose her. To make Matters worse, I fell one night and broke my foot, and it was really a struggle to go to the kitchen and mix her food. I was not very good on crutches.
That is just a small part of Grover’s story; this is just a short version.

Stubby
I first laid eyes on Stubby at a flea market in 1997, a few months after my dad died, the weather had done turned cool and I was wearing a jacket at the time. My daughter Lindsey and I were walking by this cage and we heard this awful sound, it was Stubby. As soon as we walked up to where he was, he had started screaming at us, and climbing up the side of the cage. I went over to him and opened the cage door, and just leaped into my lap, and crawled up my coat sleeve. I wanted him right then and there, but my husband said no. My daughter and I both begged and begged him to let us have Stubby. Finally, he gave in and told us if we had the 10 dollars to pay for him, we could get him. We rushed back and got him. He rode in my coat sleeve all the way home. We named him Stubby because he had a stubby tail.

Were born feral in a neighbors wood-pile. Tamed Bailey at approximately 6 months. Capture Blaze around 3 years of age.
Shadow, Gypsy, Beavis, and Spike
Were born feral in a neighbors shrubbery. Mom cat brought them over when she was weaning them and dropped them in our flower bed.
Parker & Olive
Were dumped in the park at approximately 8 weeks of age along with 4 other siblings. All were tame and the other 4 also got homes.
Gabby
Was tame and dumped in the neighborhood. She woke us up one evening running frantically across our roof. We tried finding owners, but she was never claimed.

I too will try to make this as short as I can.
First there is Trouble and Bunny Butt. Paul had just moved in with me and we where talking about the 2 loves of my life, cat wise, Snowpaws a cali and Tigger a R. Blue with no tail. So a month or so later on Feb. 14 he stoped by in the middle of his work day with Rose's an two tiny kittens. They were both calis with no tails, he told me that he went to only get one kitten, Bunny Butt but, he say that when he saw Trouble's face he had to take her too. He wanted to get me a cat that had a little of snowpaws and tigger in then. So I got 2 cali's like snowpaws both with no tails like tigger. They are both wonderfull cat and I love them so much. They do have a "tude" and they will let you know if your are not petting then in just the right way.....with their teeth. They are both so much alike except Troubles will eat anything as Bunny more picky. And I wish they both figure out the water bowl is on the floor and not in the fish tank. :)

After our family Cat died at the age of one after a short life of progressive illness, my sister decided that she was going to go and get another cat. She was living at home at the time and did not ask my dad for permission. Well, she showed up at home w/ a little black ball of fur and my dad couldn't resist. I was 13 at the time and Ali soon became my cat. She would follow me all over the house and sleep in my bed. My sister ended up leaving her with me when she went to college. After a few months at college my sister came back and lived with my mom and took Ali to live with them. Ali only stayed there for a few months since she was scared to death of the dog and then came back to live with my dad, other sister and myself after we had moved to another house. My dad was pretty adimit about not having any pets in our new place, but once he found out that Ali was living under my sister's bed because she was terrified of the dog, he finally gave in. Ali lived with my dad and I for about a year until my sister moved out on her own and then Ali moved again. Ali was moved a couple more times with my sister before she ended back up at my dad's house and then again with my sister and her now husband. I got married not long after my sister and my hubby and I rented an apartment that did not allow pets. We lived there for 1 1/2 years and then bought our own place. Poor Ali was again moved to my dad's house after my sister's husband threatened to get Ali declawed or he was going to take her to the pound. :mad: After my hubby and I got settled into our place I went and got Ali and she has been with my hubby and I ever since. It's been 3 1/2 years. Shortly after we brought her to live with us, we found out that she has diabetis, so we have to give her shots every day and feed her special food. Ali has most definately become MY cat again. She comes to me to be fed and if my husband feeds her she waits for me at the top of the stairs to go downstairs and only eats when I'm in the kitchen with her. She holds a very special place in my heart even though she is not a very loveable cat...she loves on her own terms and comes to you when she wants to be pet or lay in your lap. She is my special diabetic kitty and I love her very much.

Shortly after bringing Ali to live with us, my hubby and I decided that we would go and get her a friend to play with. He was being very paticular with what kind of cat that he wanted-he wanted a gray short haired. We went to the shelter and all of the cats were adopted (all of them including the older cats). We left that day a little disappointed, but they told us to check their website every few days to see what new kitties they had gotten in. I checked their website everyday over the next week and finally saw a picture of Jack. I called the shelter immediately to see if he was still availalbe and he was! I went out there that night and adopted him. He stole my heart. He was in a cage with his brother (I wanted to take them both, but I couldn't...his brother was adopted the next day). He was so little...the runt of his litter. He was 3 months old and weighed 2 pounds. Here he is at the shelter:

After his surgery I picked him up and brought him home. He spent the first night under the computer stand and I spent it laying in the floor trying to get him to trust me. The most hysterical thing was that when he came out he started to lick at his "surgery spot" so I put the cone on him. Well, he was so small that it didn't fit him...he couldn't walk without it getting in the way and it was the smallest one that he had. So I spent the night making sure that he wasn't licking at himself. It didn't take too long for him to warm up to us. He is now the most affectionate cat that I have ever had. He follows us around the house and is never too far from us. He sleeps in the same spot every night...cuddled up to me in some way. He loves to be held like a parrot on your shoulder. He is also very talkative and jabbers at us all the time. He is my precious boy and I'm so blessed that he is a part of our lives.

I've now had Corkscrew for two years. He was adopted at PetSmart from a friends mom, but she decided she didn't want him so she gave him to my friend. Well, my friend was pretty much living with her boyfriend at the time so she would only stop in every few days to feed Corkscrew and clean the litter box, but she never really gave him attention. She finally decided to give him away, so she gave Corkscrew to a friend.. who quickly returned him. Then she gave Corkscrew to another friend, who also quickly returned him. By that point she was ready to take Corkscrew to the humaine socitey, but thankfully i decided to bring him home. He was crazy at first, I remember the first few nights I had him I had to lock him up in the bathroom because he kept attacking me in my sleep! But over time we both started to love each other and he calmed down a lot. Now he's my sweet little lover boy :)

I got Blueberry last summer, I think on the 24th of August. First we were looking on the Internet and in newspapers and everywhere trying to find Persian cat breeders. We wanted a blue(grey) color, solid, bicolor, or just any kind of blue. We contacted some breeders from the Internet, and we were going to get a cream and white Persian. But just 2 weeks before, the breeder had a family issue and could not do anything for us I guess. So we looked in the newspaper and there was a breeder who had some Himalayans available. Himmies are also considered Persians, but they are just a different class of color- all the pointed colors. She had some seal and blue points available. We hadn't planned on getting a Himmy, but just decided to go and ask her a few questions. I remember on that day, I didn't want to go with my parents (for some reason, I forgot why) but good thing I did!:D lol. We went and just fell in love with all the cute kitties. We also saw her other cats, and they were all gorgeous. So we decided to get a blue point male. He was 5 weeks old at the time(just SO cute!) and we had to wait for 2 more weeks to bring him home. We visited the next week, and then the week after that we brought him home:) He adjusted very well, and he always used to sleep on my lap. It brings back lots of good memories when I think of it:)*sighs* I wish he was little again.
His birthday is July 1st, which is also Canada Day!:D He is now a year and 5 months. Feels like just yesterday we brought him home:) Time went by too fast!

Maggie
I got Maggie On December 24 as a Christmas gift, I was wanting a cat, but I had to wait because we were in a process to move in a new home. But un-expected a little grey fur ball is mine now! When Maggie was growing up she wasnt like my personality. Totally different. I kept thinking this isnt the cat I wanted, her personality isnt mine. But as time went on we are the best match ever! Maggie -loves- to follow me around. We love to play fetch. and we love to just chill out on the couch watching Animal Planet :P And maggie is sure a vocal cat! She loves to carry on little conversations. She's the best! Maggies birthday is Oct. 29. She is now 1 years old. I sure love Maggie alot, and I sure hope we stay together for a very long time!

Lita: I got Lita from the H.S., I went in to talk to one of the board members about helping them out with a problem and there was this black and white cat that just came in. She was on her way to be put down sense she was pregant and their policy is to put all pregant animals down. I just went over to pet her and that was all it took, she rubbed her face all over mine, meowing the whole time. She starved for love so bad that I had to give her a home. She still can't get enough love from people to this day. Sense then she had her kitten, foster some other and has been a super cat.

MII: He's one of my wild cats and I have never really been able to get that wild side out of him. He was to be a temp. till I felt he was ready to move on. He wont ever really be a good house cat as hard as I try. I would not feel safe giving him to anyone else that doesn't know how to handle him.
