This week we will test some ads from Google on the Pet of the Day homepage. Hopefully, Google will have relevant ads that will help pay for improvements to our website.

You know, I've often wondered how you guys did all this with no ads. Hopefully it all works out for the best! :)
If Pet Talk needs to have ads to thrive, then I think Google is one of the best advertisers to choose :)
Ditto!
Ditto! Ditto!
They won't bother me a bit and if it helps you both out - more power to you!!
I fully agree! :) I'm sure you won't choose blinking intrusive ones. ;)Quote:

I hope they are pet related, I actually like to find out about new places and products (If they are a subjet of interest).
I fully understand the need to run the ads but don't like them cluttering up the pages! Oh well. I understand....and yet protest!
Thanks Paul.
I was wondering about that.
If it helps you pay the bills and keep the site open, I say welcome to the ads. I know that the site can't be cheap.
Is it only going to be on the POTD pages?
I like the ads and have already been to several treat sites that were in the ads. :D I don’t think they’re intrusive at all.
And notice there are different ad on the three pages; dog (& cop) related; cat related; and various pets.... WAIT the ads keep changing.:)

I think the ads are tastfully done . Not the nasty pop ups .thank you for that .
Sorry weve grown so much that you've had to go to this. Maybe not we all thank you for this wonderful place.
Some of you are referring to ads that I assume are up and running.
However, I haven't seen any ads yet. Is it my server?
The ads aren't on the board gini... they are on the COTD, DOTD, POTD, ect pages. :)
What would become of Pet Talk if there were no ads? It would not be free.
I do not see the ads when I am in a version of Netscape on the Mac, but I do when I'm in Internet Explorer on the same machine ... Gini, what platform are you on?
I'm on IE on the Mac, and I don't see ads.
Karen, Internet Explorer on a PC. I told Kim (Ramanth) that I thought I was crazy because I sure don't see any ads - not even a popup.Quote:

Instead of complaining about an ad, I am miffed I am not getting any. You just can't please everyone, can you?
The Google ads are based on javascript. If you do not have javascript turned on or you have ad blocking software or javascript does not work as expected on your machine you will see no ads.
Paul
I have javascript but my netscape browser is so old, I see no adds. That's ok with me, as long as I can still see the critters, that's all that matters to me!Quote:

Please no suggestions on updating my browser. I am not computer literate that way and would get in such a mess, I wouldn't be able to get on at all!:D
I can see the ads on my computer, and I have absolutely no problem with them. :) I was expecting something big and blinking, lol...but nope, no such luck. :p;)
