Barn Kittens!

Here are the two kittens that are at my horse's barn. The are both staying at the barn, and they will be fixed. The tabby and white is a girl, the one that is mostly tabby is a boy. I had to rescue the little boy from a grain bin today, someone had left the top of the bin loose (don't worry, the horses can't get in there, it's in the tack room) and he got in and couldn't get back out! They are very sweet kittens, I wanted to take them both but then the barn owner said she was keeping them. At least I will see them grow up.

Aww what a pair of cuties, no wonder she is keeping them, and I can see why you wanted them, they will have a good life right?hope so, thanks for posting, really made my day to see these lil darlins.:)

Awww and more Awww!! They are the cutest little kittens. :p So glad you got the little boy out of the dustbin! Hopefully, he'll not try that again! It looks like they're taken good care of. :)

What sweet looking little things - both of them! Big bright eyes and cute expressive faces. Is there anything at all cuter than kittens?? They look like an EllieMae and Jethro to me:D ....or maybe Daisy and Beau?

I like them both, and I can see why you wanted them.

I am sorry to hear that you can't take them home, but I hope there life in the barn will be good. They do have a kitty condo that's a good sign. I am also glad to hear that they will be spay/nutered.

AW they are cuties. I love the little girl, I'd take her in a sec.
I hope they have a safe and happy life there. No horse can get them, right? I just hate to hear that one of them got steped on.

This is what I'd call CUTENESS OVERLOAD!!! I hope they have a safe and happy life as barn cats. Feel free to post more pics of them as they grow up. :)

That is so nice that you were able to save those Kittens , as a Barn Cats life is no picnic. Michael was a Barn Cat , and I was able to save him , before the Farmer drowned him. Prayers for the Kittens and you!

Can someone please explain what exactly a barn cat is, its not a term I am familiar with in NZ.

We used to have a cat on the farm, to catch the mice etc, but she stayed in our home and was our pet, and we also fed her, so I guess a barn cat is different, is it a cat they keep just to catch mice, and fend for itself or what.

It looks like these kittens have it pretty good though, so will be taken care of real well, sure hope so.

Barn cats are typically cats that aren't pets, and live outside in the barn to help control vermin.

Depending on the barn owner, some barn cats have it great and some don't.

Most of the people around here are starting to see how valuable these kitties can be and are starting to spay/neuter and vaccinate. Not all have it so great, tho.

Thanks, I kinda thought this is what a Barn Cat was, I guess some donot get looked after well, and have vet treatment etc when needed, so it could be a tough life, the ones in the pic though look very healthy and well taken care of.
