This is the week that Sam is enrolled in the "Big Dog of the Week" contest at Practical Pet Care. She has brought me so much joy over the last 17 months and I wanted to reward her for all that she's given me. Don't be mad ok. I didn't vote. :( It's just that, all of those faces were so precious. I couldn't pick just one.:( I am sorry everybody. Well, vote for whomever you'd like but when a fellow Pet Talker asks me to throw a vote for their friend, I do. :shrug: I think it's great to see a Pet Talk Pup win and take pride in it, even when it isn't my pet.

I would like to remind you all again of Samantha's story. She and her sister were found abandoned along the side of a busy highway by my neighbor. She brought them home and the moment I laid eyes on Samantha, there was just something there. I was not in the market for a puppy at all, but I knew this dog had to be mine. Being as I still lived with my parents, I went through several days of fights worthy of World War III recognition with them, but finally won out. Samantha came to live with me the very next day and has since become a huge part of my life, as well as the best friend I could have. She makes me smile when I am sad, she licks away my tears when I cry. She makes me get up 15 minutes early just so that we can cuddle before I leave for work. THAT is why I'm asking for your vote to make her Big Dog of the Week. She deserves it. I'm not saying those other dogs aren't special, but they aren't special to me. Samantha is. Samantha deserves the recognition. This isn't directed to any one person in general; rather, it's just a plea to all of those who might have not yet cast their vote. I have faithfully voted for every Pet Talk pup in every contest that anyone posts about. Please do the same for Samantha. :)

Were all of these animals homesless before? I know it's a stupid question, but...I was just wandering.:)

Oh, I didn't know that Samantha's life was like that.:( I am sorry. I thought that all of them were just people's pets that weren't homeless. I didn't know that Samantha had it rough like that. I just voted for your Samantha, sounds like she deserves to win, considering all the crap that she has been through. Its always nice to see an abandoned pet of any kind get a good home. I hate it when people just dumps dogs because they don't want them anymore, how cruel is that? I am glad your neighbor found her and you took her, I would like to ask what happened to her sister, did the neighbor keep her?
I am glad Samantha has brought you so much happiness, we all need all the happiness we can get. Sounds like Samantha is pretty happy about it too.:)

Samantha's sister, Isabelle, found a home with the girlfriend (now ex) of an old friend of mine. She and I get the girls together every so often, so they still keep in touch. :)

Well I hadn't planned on voting today, I am glad you posted the story of how you come to own her. It proved to me that there are very large hearts out there, and you have one of them by the name of Samantha, and she lives in your heart. I hope Samantha wins, she deserves it and so do you.:)
