I am worried.......
We have just taken my daughter to a medical specialist today, a urologist, he did a scan of her kidneys and tubes, and on the right kidney and tube there is two dark black spots, which are not normal, on wednesday she will have and ivp to see what is going on.
It could be nothing to worry about he said, in the kidney it could be a vein showing up, but there might be a blockage in the tube.
I am just so frightened of the results, please if anyone has been through a similar situation with themselves or child, I would appreciate hearing from you, I guess I need some re-assuring right now.
I cannot imagine melissa keeping still for one hour, as that is how long the procedure can take.
She is so brave about everything, just takes it in her stride, she was keen to get it over and done with, she is braver than me for sure.
I sure hope everything is ok.

Prayers on the way. I hope it's nothing to worry about..
-
Thank you , me too, fingers crossed.
-
I will keep you in my thoughts!

Hi Carole
Just wanted to let you know that I am thinking about you and your daughter and sending out bigs hugs to you. I know how hard the waiting can be. Hang in there. Stay positive and stay strong.
Hugs...Robin
P.S....My sister had kidney surgery a long time ago. I think she might have been around 15 yrs. old. I'm not for sure what the problem was. I'll have to check with her and my parents and find out. How old is your daughter?
-
I sure hope it's nothing serious. Prayers and positive thoughts are on the way. Please take care.
-
I hope its nothing serious. Prayers on the way that your little girl will be just fine! Did you take her in just for a check up or was she not feeling well?

Carole, I hope everything turns out OK. It's best to be safe than sorry, and I hope these tests are only precautionary.

I'm keeping you and your daughter in my thoughts.

Prayers & positive thoughts coming your way:)

I've known many, many people who have had blockages show up in a tube, and they were just kidney stones (which are painful but definitely not life threatening). Often they were nothing at all. I've had them myself. So remember - a dark spot on a scan is not synonymous with very bad news. Relax. Worrying isn't going to help you!
-
I will be thinking of her during her tests. Good luck. You know how well the Pet Talk prayer patrol works, so she should be good to go.
-
Carole, I know how worrisome these events can be for you and your daughter.
I send you prayers that all is well and you can soon celebrate.

Prayers coming your way that it's nothing serious.

To keep yourself from worrying too much, how about planning what extra-special dinner/dessert she'll get on Wednesday after enduring another round of tests. Medical tests are no fun, but at least you don't have to study for them, or worry about how your grade will be effected! ;)
Your family will be in my prayers.

Carole, you and your daughter will be in my prayers.
Please let us know how everything turns out.

Thanks everyone , you guy's always make me feel better and help put things into perspective, as i am the biggest worry wort out, you should see me with the cats. now thats another story lol.
PCB my daughter has been having ongoing UTI's, this is why a specialist needed to be consulted, the good thing is , everything is getting underway very fast, tues consultant, wed IVU. She is 11yrs old.
My husband came yesterday, and is off to Auckland for a new job interview today,(really hoping he gets, it as it would be a promotion and more money) (and maybe more cats, just kiddin) he won't beable to take more time off this week, so my mum is coming with me, so that's great, it always helps to have extra support.
Anyway no matter the outcome, I must put on a brave face for my daughter's sake, yes logan it is part of the deal isn't it being a mum, worry , worry worry.
An interesting fact the consultant mentioned, was that the bladder has a lining of mucous, repeated infections break this down, and let the bacteria just slip in real easily, so for the next two months she will be on an antibiotic, one a day, then half a pill a day second month, this helps build the mucous up again, and prevent the bacteria getting in, with repeated infections, it does not have the chance to do this.
Thanks again my friends for taking the time to listen.

Sending healing prayers and positive thoughts your way, Carole. Hopefully the Dr. can get this under control with the antibiotics. You and your family have been through so much this year Carole. You need a whole bunch of hugs!:) Thinking of you with love, friend. Please keep us updated. Sandra

Thanks Tamara and Sandra and everyone else for your kind words and support.
Well the IVU went well, no adverse side effects, and melissa was great, she always is, she is fantastic when it comes to needles, infact I am more of a baby when it comes to needles than she is.
We ended up waiting a whole hour, as they were not keen to go ahead until they talked to the specialist, they did not realise she had already had a scan, I guess they were just making sure, so I don't mind really, better to be safe than sorry.
Appointment on monday with the specialist for the results, at 8.am, so now its just the painstaking wait and worry.
Keep those prayers and positive thoughts coming, please, I really appreciate them.
Yup Sandra 2001 and 2003 have been bad years for my family, so let us hope 2004 is better.
Hey the specialist's name is get this DIRK DRENT, sounds like some private eye or something lol.
And hey everyone YOU ARE THE BEST AND I LOVE YA ALL:)
