Drake has to wear booties to protect his precious pads from the hot pavement and thorns around here in AZ. Upon request, here are a few pictures of Drake in his boots. He has been more tolerant of them that I could have ever imagined.

Awww Drake looks so cute in his little booties!
Missy refuses to wear them so she doesn't go out during the day. The rule of thumb is you stand outside on the asphalt with your socks on and if you can feel the heat then it's too hot for a doggies pads. So my neighbors always look at me strange because every 30 minutes or so I walk up to the road and stand wearing my socks.

I had to put a boot on Rocky, when his
toe had a boo boo. Rocky looked like he was
stepping in Lava. Good for Drake for
being such a good boy and getting use to his boots. :D
The stepping in Lava is exactly what it looked like when Drake first started wearing them. It took 2 times for him to finally get used to them and walk like a normal dog :)

I've had the thought that boots might be the answer to Tucker's itchy feet. I feel he may have some allergies to the grass by the way he likes to stay on the deck when we are outside. Where did you find Drake's boots?

Abbey and Kito have boots too, we got them last year when it snowed, because our apartment complex was always putting salt down, and it hurt their paws.
Kito did the "lava walk" too--it was hilarious!!
Rachel, we got Drake's booties at the local Pet store in town. They don't have a petco or petsmart here. But I am sure those two stores would have some. They come in a wide range of sizes. Drake's are in an X-Large. But they go down to XX-Small!
Foam, I am in Sierra Vista right now for about 7 more weeks. Then my family and I are off to Germany.
