What a Surprise!
Thursday night Kevin & I went out trapping for the cat we dubbed Oakley. We had spotted him in an orchard between the park and college. We started feeding him at the same spot for about 2 weeks. We decided to go for him Thursday evening and in about 10 minutes had him! Friday Kevin dropped him off at the vet for his neuter and when he returned that afternoon to pick him up the Vet Tech asked if she could have him! She came with excellent references, gave us her number so we can keep up with him, and paid for the neuter and testing. We were so happily surprised. Out of all the feral cats that go through this vet on a daily basis, Oakley was picked!!! Another cat saved from the life of the streets!:D

That's such great news! I'm glad to hear that Oakley will now be going to a wonderful forever home. Congrats on having another cat saved!
-
How wonderful. I'm thrilled for you, the vet assistant, and especially for Oakley. That counts as a win-win-win situation, doesn't it? ;) :D
-
This is great news. :D I'm so glad that he found a forever home so quickly. :)
-
Wow that is such great news. Fantastic job the both of you do.
-
What a wonderful surprise indeed! Don't think you could ask for more than that! GREAT JOB!:D

More good news...he tested negative! She called us this evening and said she just LOVES him and thanked us for letting her have him. She will be e-mailing photos and I will post just as soon as I receive them. We just feel so happy about this, and it's so unusual to have it happen this way. Oh, she said that everyone at the vets office kept saying to her "are you sure you want THIS cat"? "You really don't want this one"! "We have so many here, why take a feral"? She told us she just had to have him and is SO happy! She also said he hisses at her, but as soon as she pets him he starts purrrrrring. My heart swells!

What great news. :D I'm glad he was adopted by the vet assistent, no doubt he'll be well cared for. :)
Thanks for saving all these kitties, you're really doing a great job! :)
Looking forward to pics!!
-
That is just such good news!!! I guess the vet tech 'just knew'...right?
-
All the right purrsons met in the right moment -this simply must work out well. We are very curious to see how Oakley looks. Don't forget to post:) :)
-
There isn't much I can add to the thread, especially after reading Barbara's post. What does he look like, what color is his coat? I suppose that the vet tech, saw something in him that was unique, and therefore had to have him.

That is so great!!! That news makes me day! :)

Here's the little guy and his new owner. Don't be alarmed by his cuts and scratches - almost all of the ferals we've caught do this to themselves by running into the walls of the trap. They always heal quickly.

I received an update today, here's a few of her words:
"That kitten starts singing when you just reach for him now. So he sounds like a power unit I guess? He is not just tame but really a lover, like he was starved for affection".
"That's all for now. I just love this little guy, and I am so happy to have him"! Thank you!
This just makes me SO happy. She will be sending more pictures once his little nose clears up. I will post them.
