Well that would be the Border Collie. Love the border collies...of course owning one sort of helps in that decision.
COLLIES!:D
I absolutely love shelties - I think they are just adorable. I would probably never get one as they don't fit my lifestyle - I'm just not that active. Unless it was an older one where a good romp in the backyard would be enough. I also like Border Collies and Collies, but again I don't think I could give them the best life:(
I'm more of the couch potato dog lifestyle:D
Oh Kai isn't that active. If I'm lucky, I give him 4 walks a week. It's not so much the physical as it is the mental part. A good running around the backyard with maybe a ball or frisbee would do the trick. That's what I do when I don't feel like walking him.Quote:

As for my favourite...isn't it obvious? LOL Well I love shelties but I didn't always love them. My favourite use to be a border collie but now it's kinda half and half. I also like gsd's, collies, aussies, cattledogs, belgian shepherds and belgian malinois. I hope I get to own at least one of each of those eventually..but it's probably not gonna happen.
We voted other..... Corgi's!
I love Catahoula dogs!!! The first time I saw one was a few years ago. This guy was at the beach I was at with his and I thought "what a prefect dog! Perfect sized and everything."Quote:

Yup Yup, that's us. What size did it come up? Can you see it, because it kept looking small when I pulled it up. *sigh* I'm still learning this forum.Quote:

I would have to say my favorite hearder dog is the *eh-em* Australian Cattle Dog!!! AKA: Queensland Blue Heeler
(but maybe I'm a bit biased...lmao)
Cattledogmom, I love your pentagram tatoo on your arm!! :D It's gorgeous, I want to get a pentagram tatoo one day! And a wolf one too ;)
It was a REALLY tough choice but I voted Border Collie because there have been so many that have touched my heart.
Gosh, I just love em all!Quote:

I just had to vote border collie, i grew up on a farm, and thats all we ever had, our pet dog scott, was a border collie, he was the most gentle animal i have known, we loved him so much that when we left the farm for the city , we could not part with him, he came with us, and lived a happy life until he had to go to rainbow bridge as he had cancer, i missed him so much, he was my big furbaby, and he adored out cat, he used to sit with her between his paws and lick her to bits, she in turn loved him just as much, a gentle giant he was.
Australian Shephard cause I own one. hehe. I am biased. I must say though, the Catahoula leopard dogs look really cool. I have never seen one in person though. Just looking at the pics here.
It came out fairly big. I love your piercing (and your pup)! lolQuote:

Gotta go with the Smooth Collie. Perfect dog for me. Low
grooming requirements. Fun and Playful, but content to
take a break and watch TV, so not as intense as say a Border
Collie. Easy to Train. Not an aggressive bone in their body...
Loves everybody and everything, including other dogs and
animals of all kinds. Very in tune and concerned with everybody
in the family being happy and okay.
Par...
I love all of them! That is a very hard decision. I voted, but I love every single Herding Dog. I voted for the Border Collie, but I love Aussies, Shelties, Catahoulas... everything!:D
Slightly off the subject, but don't you all love it when animals that live together love each other so much and they are afectionate and groom each other?Quote:

My 2 kitties are so in love with each other...and my Siamese (Petey) is 6 months older than my Burmese (Twinkie) and Petey tries to be her boyfriend and father...it's precious when he just wants to groom her and she just wants to play....he holds her down and licks her and she just lays there with a look on her face like a little kid whose mom is combing his hair.
It's great to see animals that are happy and copmfortable enough to act in their "natural habitat."
i love australian shepherds! they are soooo cute! expecially the blue and red merles. :)

We have a friend who trains BC's because his sister has a cattle ranch. He is helping us with "basic training" Casey.Quote:
