Guess the Cat Breed
I wanted to bring this over here! They are doing it at the dogs side. I know we don't have quiet as many cat breeds. So with that, I would like to include WILD cats as well, lions, tigers, you name it, you find it, and it's of the feline family add it, or you can do domesticated breeds. :)
I will start with this one, tell me what breed you think it is, if you win, then you get to post a breed for the rest of us to guess.
-
I am in no way an expert, at all, on cat breeds, other than some obvious ones, but for some reaon I want to say, an american curl? I don't know why, the fur looks curly to me. I don't even know if thats why curls are called that LOL! anyway I think the cat is still fairly young from the size of its ears, it has not quite grown into them yet!
so what breed is it?
-
-
-
ah! congrats Bastets Mom!:D
-
Nope, not a Devon Rex, or an American Curl. Try again. :)
It's a rarer breed, if you will.
The Devon Rex is close however, in reference to the coat :)
-
-
Nope. The coat pattern has nothing to do with it, these cats can come in any colour or pattern, size, it's just all about the curly/wavey fur.
-
Would it be a LaPerm cat ?
-
Just a guess- American Wirehair?
-
Lailamara: Very good you got it, a LaPerm! :)
You can go ahead and post your breed/species for everyone to guess. :)
-
lailamara-congratulations!
angelzoo-wow, you sure did make a good guessing game!
I got mixed, up, for some reason I thought Kathoo was the one that had posted the guess game, and when she posted that it was a rex, I thought that was the answer...duh! (wake up mary!)
-
Ah, I knew it was LaPerm... got here too late!!! hehehe
I posted an article about the LaPerm a while back! Very strange indeed!

Here's another picture where it's clearer to see what possible origins are.
-
Pretty cat, but I don't have any idea what breed. Is it a rare breed?
-
-
Bastet's mom you are on the right track. Some more clues...... Oriental type cat (longhair and shorthair forms) exhibiting the Van/Harlequin pattern. It is very obscure!! and only recognized recently.
-
My guess is Turkish Angora.
-
I've never heard off a skookum!
-
Thanks Mary i have been waiting all day for someone to say that, neither had i until i went to the mad hatter cat show, its a cross between a munchkin and la perm cat, check out this site www.purrpetualcats.co.nz i spoke with twink and saw her cats on the day, cheers
-
they will do anything to come up with more breeds, and more cats.. mad scientists is more like it!
Carole, no raps on the knuckles ok? :D
-
I thought Turkish Angora too
I'm probably wrong, but is it a Javanese? The face reminds me of one.
-
Bluekat you are probably as close as anyone will get. I've really picked a very obscure breed. They only breed them in Britain . If no one can guess I'll post the answer. Their breed name appealed to me as its a place I'd like to visit (almost did) and I liked the description of their personalities ..."Scatterbrained, demonstrative and demanding of human attention at all times," especially the scatterbrained, as that would be a cat matched perfectly to me !!!
-
I finally found ;)
It's a Seychellois
-
Bingo Kath00.... you are good....VERY GOOD.....So now its your turn!!:D

I'm not really good at all those cat breed but I do know the most propular breed of cats. My quess would be La perms. Is that the right answer? What a nice looking cat, the fur looks really unique and different. It's like curly fur, it's different then the other cats fur. Soo what the cat breed?
