Catman, what a terrible start you had, but how lucky that you found such a special and caring forever home.


People made me so mad when they do terrible things to animals, :mad: but what a blessing that you had a loud strong voice, and managed to get yourself rescued, and invite yourselfinside! :)

I am sure you reward your family every day with much love and affection - you certainly sound like a very special little boy, and I love your shiny black coat too!

Hope you have an extra special day today, although I am sure every day is special for you!

My heart aches when I read stories like this. At least you had a happy ending to a very sad beginning. It's amazing that after the bad treatment you received, you were so trusting to follow your new human to her apartment. What a beautiful catman! He is one lucky cat to have been found. I have 2 blackies also, one was very persistant about coming in my house even though I had 4 other cats and a german shephard. He didn't care. You have a lovely cat!

It makes me mad to think about who could put a living animal in a closed box down into a dumpster -but I am so glad you now have the life that you deserve and now are the king of this day:)

However, it seems to me that if I were taped into a small box and thrown into a dumpster, I'd be bizarre, too! But, not as bizarre as the sick person who did it (may he have a miserable life).

Those horrid dumpster days are behind you, but, as everyone's expressing today, I too can NOT fathom what devilish creature would ever have put a living baby in a closed box in a dumpster in the first place (eeeeek--makes me just SCREAM!)!!!. What beautiful eyes you have. My cat, Leonardo says it sometimes pays to have a loud mouth and healthy set of lungs. I found him at 10 days old abandoned by his mother. I heard him yelling his tiny head off. We are both so glad your loving guardian found you. You knew a good thing when you saw it, didn't you? Congratulations on finding a wonderful forever home and being our special Cat of the Day today, sweetie.

How could anyone - ANYONE put you in a box, tape it shut and put you into a dumpster? It makes me scream a long painful scream!

I keep saying that God works in strange ways - and He gave you a good set of lungs to pierce through the box and garbage to just the right human who has given you a wonderful and loving home.

Someone has said - it is a long way from the dumpster to our very own CAT OF THE DAY.

Catman, you are so sleek and handsome and you have those beautiful eyes that always makes my heart melt.

You are such a lucky boy that your purrent heard you!:) I am very outraged to hear how you were entombed.:mad: It makes me heartsick to think someone went to all that trouble to get rid of you when all they had to do was drop you off at an animal shelter or vet's office.:mad: You are a very hansome man. I loved how you walked in and made yourself at home. I have a stray tomcat I took in last November. The first thing Manny did was walk in and use one of my litter boxes. Thank God Catman, your guardian angel was in the right place at the right time. Oh I just shudder at the thought of what you had to go through. You were one determined little kitty and it sure paid off.

...I am ashamed to say that in my past I may have ignored a "cry from the dumpster" because I did not want to be bothered, or I was in a hurry to go someplace...your human's determination to rescue you, even if it meant diving through garbage in a dumpster, is a shining example to us all that should be emulated. May there be more people like your human; the world will be a better place for it.

I just wanted to add I agree with CatFan. I appauld Catman's purrent's determination to find you. Your purrent is truely a special person. Like Daisy, I cried when I read this story, not only just because it broke my heart to read of this poor, precious creature shut up and thrown in the trash like that (yikes!) but also because there have been times when I might have taken in another homeless cat and did not.

There is a little black cat, almost just like Catman, who showed up at our building over the last few days. He was hungry and cold, and my landlord and I gave him food to eat. It's a dilemma, though, because I have a cat with whom I have been bonded for over eight years now and I could not see breaking her heart by bringing in another one. But this little guy who showed up on Sunday really touched my heart, and I keep praying that he will be okay. I have not seen him since then.

The story about Catman shows that God has His eye on the sparrow and on all living creatures, great and small. I just have to have faith that the little black kitty at our building will find a loving home, too. (Who knows, maybe it will be mine after all? I just cannot forget about him.

Oh, Catman! I rejoice at your good fortune, but it makes me think "how many cats haven't been rescued to be happy and beautiful?". There is so much cruelty it's frightening. We must have enough love to drive it out.
