Jack is doing pretty well with the others. He evidently was an only and so is slowly adjusting to the chaos that our house bring with 4 others and two pups just a year old. Basically he ignors the rest of them except when they are after some food he wants or attention from us that he wants for himself. He is doing better each day - we think some of that has to do with the improvement of his health day by day. He has been taking medicine for the ear infections for 2 days now; he was shampooed in his new anti-itching shampoo last night and was de-wormed two days ago. I gave him benedryl yesterday for the watering eyes and the itching from whatever allergy he has. Monday he starts eye drops for the watery eyes which I am sure will help too.
Today he started throwing the rawhide around and chasing it which is the first sign of any real liveliness we had seen in him. Mostly he has been laying around sleeping or eating or having us rub him especially his ears.
Jack is absolutely adorable :) I can't remember if I congratulated you yet or not, but if not...congrats! You got a great dog, and he got a great home :) He's REALLY cute, and I can't wait to meet him at the dog park on Memorial Day weekend :)

Don't you love it when they start to play? That is the most rewarding part of fostering and rescuing. That transition where they learn to play and be happy and they feel so comfortable. Its bringing tears to my eyes.Quote:

Such a sweet boy! Best was hearing of all the wonderful loving and tender care he's getting! And he surely won't be lacking for doggie pals to make play with! Congratulations!! He is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!:)
Thanks for all the nice comments about Jack. He is doing better each day. We got his eye medicine today and he is not too crazy about it but he let us put it in. He is sooo patient - I don't think any of our other dogs would put up with all the stuff we do to this animal and just sit as patiently as he does as we do it. Even the new shampoo has to sit on him for 10 minutes and he just stands there like why are you doing this to me but calmly waiting to be rinsed and dried.
I can't believe that he has spent the last several weeks at least totally outside. He goes out to do his thing and if the others are out checking things out he will stay out too but he is just as happy if not happier in the house with us.
He still does't smell the best but the vet said until his skin clears up he will have an odor. So we are hoping that the change in surroundings, food and the baths and vitamins will clear his skin trouble up quickly. I don't know how anyone could treat such a sweet boy this way!!!
