Oh Pet Talk, what have I gotten myself into?

As some of you may know, I work at an animal hospital. In March we had a patient that got attacked very badly by the other dog in the home. It happened again last month and they ended up surrendering him to us.

Well, meet Ace...

He is a six year old Basenji mix, around 35 pounds or so (needs to lose a few!) I have fallen for him. :o And the feeling is mutual. It's very apparent that I am his favorite person. He's generally unamused by anyone or anything until I step in and he's full of spunk and personality. It's been killing me to leave him there every night when I left work.

The only thing that's been holding me back is Mufasa. He can be a jerk to other dogs. Well, Ace and Mufasa met today... they are in love. :love:

So, it's not official or anything, but he may just be another Muttlie!

I did start to panic when you introduced Mufasa into the equation; and then you sprung the surprise: they get along! From there, I just KNEW where this was going, lol.

What a smile! I hope it works out. I wonder what the last owners were doing to the dog. I really can't see a basenji attacking for no reason. They're a primitive breed and usually would ignore people if given a chance. Granted this is a mix, but I still wonder what they did.

The ears woulda sold me in a second! He has an amazing smile for sure :D I am so glad he ALMOST has an amazing home. Hope everything works out.

Hello Ace! With a smile like that no wonder you are irresistable:)

Ace came home with me after my shift yesterday. His first night here couldnt have gone any smoother. He fits in perfectly and is somewhat intimidated by Athena. She tried rubbing up against him and he got scared and walked away. He slept on my pillows all night and I was awakened by him grooming my face. Mufasa and Alice like to sun themselves in the morning. Ace joined them and instead of making use of their huge yard, they all layed right in the same spot. So in short, it is official. I got some photos of them together but im having a hard time attaching them from my phone. Varga, my mom was saying the same thing. He does remind me of Simba. :)

Kay, he is just the cutest! I am so glad you are now his Mom and he may live happily ever after. I am also glad the other pets have allowed a newcomer into their home. He seems like a perfect fit. Keep those photos coming - you know how we all love photos AND fun stories. He's a keeper, for sure. Congrats!:D
