Let's go for a ride to the drive in?;)
Awwww, it's cool here mate....hee hee.
I might go light the fire.
Anyone for some hot chocolate ???? :D:D
Oh yes indeed! Yesterday and today the weather is absolute perfection. Mid 80's, cloudless sky, no humidity and a gentle breeze - couldn't be better. It was actually chilly early this a.m.
Anyone for some ham and cheese sandwiches???
Sweet ride! My brother had one of those cars.
It felt like fall this morning.
'Tis wonderful weather, indeed! Afternoon off with the windows open, listening to the cicadas; I'll be out in the garden in a bit. :)
I'll take one of those sandwiches, please, toasted. I have some fresh tomatoes to go on them, too - anyone? How about a nice cold Sauvignon Blanc with it?
Love this weather! I didn't have to turn on my AC last night for the first time almost all summer. I went to a local park at lunch time and sat and read my Kindle. I could have stayed there all afternoon but duty called.
Toasted cheese and tomato soup is a major comfort food here. Yum!
What beverage would go good with this?
Hot Toddy? I haver never had one but have heard of them. :p
RICHARD, drive in movie or drive in food brought by someone on roller skates? If it's a movie which one should we pick? If it's food I'll have a burger and fries and a chocolate shake :D:cool: P's Mom, wine is good anytime... I especially enjoy white wine spritzers when it's really warm outside and I'm sitting in the garden.
Laurie
What, no takers on fresh Maryland tomatoes? Fine, we're putting them on Pita Pizzas tonight - you'll have to come here if you'd like some. ;)
lbaker, you know wine is good with anything, and you're welcome on the deck anytime, and you know how to get here!
Happylabs-love my kindle!!:D
OMG Richard, is that yours?????:love: I'm on the next train down...;)
What do you guys mean about cooling down.....we haven't even warmed up yet. We've had no summer to speak of. It's ridiculous.
Having said that, I'd like a rather large Iced Capp to go please.
****raises hand*****
Oh Wom, I'll take your shirt.... I'd love to feast my eyes on your washboard abs.....;)
...once again...I feel so ignored...:( MD tomatoes...really??
PM: I love maters - fried maters, baked maters, chopped maters, mater sammies, yummy!!!!!
Good morning everyone. How about a good breakfast? Some fried MD maters on toast, eggs, canadian bacon and hash browns. :) Mmmmmm
No problems Slick. Seeing that no one else wants to take my shirt off....you can ;)

**excuse me while I take wipe my drool off the monitor**
Any chance I can be part of the "surf crew"??? :)
Hi Y'all.
Sorry I have been absent.
The Great Wind Storm of August has left us w/o power for the better part of two days so far.
At the moment there are a whole fleet of Louisville Power Co trucks on the street.
Hopefully the power will be up in the next hour?
I'll be back to fill orders in a bit!
Maggie, the only thing as good as MD Maters are MD Silver Queen corn ;) Let's have some of both :p (we aren't a bit bias are we?)
I do so love real tomatoes from local farms or the garden in summer! There's nothing better. It's pouring rain here today, does that count as having cooled down?
Anyone else want a tomato, fresh mozzarella and basil sandwich?
Silver Queen corn - now I'm really drooling! :D
Drying out here after Sunday's Monsoon - nearly 6" of rain in as many hours - yet 15 miles to the south only got about an inch - go north and some places got 10". The ground was like walking on a wet sponge. We needed the rain, but moderation would have been nice too.
Headed to Baltimore shortly - I'll wave to Maggie as I drive by. Anyone care for a bagel with cream cheese before I hit the road?
If you're not gone yet, a bagel would be lovely, thank you! Coffee's on! :D
Coming to Baltimore? What're you doing for lunch?
Actually, it is a lovely day for August in Chicago-- sunny, not too humid, high 84F-- and I'm stuck inside.
It is a lovely California day - clear skys - that beautiful blue color - and no wind - very peaceful day.
Now wouldn't some silver queen corn hit the spot? And an honest to gosh tomato - what a concept - I didn't think they even made them anymore!!!
Since Slick is all over Wom without his shirt - I will just leave it alone:D:D:D
I don't do ironing anyway!!
Hey everyone,
Had a day filled with fun and work.
Gini,
I do miss the 'dry heat' of Cali, and spent the day cleaning up some of the branches that were left over from last Saturday's storm.
I thought about your tree as I chopped up wood and tore apart branches.:(
And did you have a milt julep as a reward for your efforts?
No, I have yet to sample a Kentucky Bourbon.:(
When I do, I'll post about it!
---------------------
One of the wonders of the area is the weather.
I have to apologize to everyone for being so flip about CA weather compared to what the rest of the country.
I humbly realize that not every day is 80 degrees, sunny and a deep blue sky.
(Gini, it is a culture shock!)
I stand corrected.:D
:eek::eek: WOM -- SLICK ;) (do tell...hee hee)
psst: speaking of slick, she has a birthday Sunday!!! You didn't hear it from me!!! ;)
ANyone want ice cream sundaes?
THe chocolate and butterscotch sauces are so thick you can turn the jars upside down and the sauce just sits there.........wonderful when warmed and put over ice cream, though. It's like butterscotch and chocolate flavored plastic!
I'll have some! Over maple walnut ice cream, as here in Thursday's, allergens don't exist!
