I borrowed the keys from Catland when I noticed that the bar wasn't open yet. It's going to be another hot day so everyone relax.
I ordered a lot of ice today so we can make lots of slushies. What flavor would you like?

Lemonade flavored slushies, please! Because there are no allergies here ...
And there are good (real) tomatoes in the stores this time of year, so how about some BLTs with the slushies? I'll make some up, if anyone wants some!
Mmmm. BLTs. I haven't had one of those in ages! A frozen lemonade sounds great too.
I'd love a BLT. I have three tomato plants growing, but so far no tomatoes.
I have some fresh Oregon strawberries that we can use for the slushies. :D
Our weather guy says no break in this hot weather for us until after the first of August. yuck
A BLT sounds yummy here. Along with a cherry limeade. :D
Hot???? Who saiz it's hot????? I had to put the heater on in my car on the way to work this morning. We haven't had a summer yet :(
I'll take something warm please - perhaps a Spanish Coffee to get me going. Have to look after a couple of orangie boyz after work, then going to the gym, then home to look after my orangie boy.
Did someone say BLT??? Oh yes please with some fine Canadian back bacon and lots of mayo and tomater..... Yummy!!! :)
This was entirely too suggestive...we actually had BLT's for dinner (L&T from the garden) with a nice Chardonnay....:D
Karen, I'd love a BLT, I'll make some mayo, for those of you who have never had homemade mayo, once you've had it you'll never want store bought mayo again. Karen's mom had an awesome recipe and it's so easy I make it right in my blender and then put it in a tupperware container and stick it in the fridge. Very nice on fresh tomatoes sliced from the garden.
Mmmmmm - BLT's and lemonade. I'm in line if there's enough to go around. Please help yourself to the cantaloupe I just set out. They are so sweet and juicy, that the stand where I buy them has a sign that advertises them as "Candy-lopes" :)
Hi guys, checking in.
I got my computer, but so many boxes to go thru and some were lost in transit.
so is life!:(
Slick I'll send you some of our hot air if you'll send me some of your cool air!!!
It is so cold in my office today I could seriously use mittens!
It's cloudy and threatening rain outside. Not nice at all. Feels like we had a few nice days and now we're into fall - I sure hope not.
Could I get a cup of HOT tea please to take away the shivers?? :(
It was 100 degrees here earlier today - my least favorite thing about having a July birthday is the weather.
But hey, birthday cake and ice cream for everyone! The cake should be Huntington chocolate, home made of course, with real frosting (I never had anything but the real stuff - butter, confectioners sugar and vanilla or some other flavoring, unless I was at someone else's house growing up) and good ice cream!
I'd love some cake and lots of ice cream please. It was in the high 90's here as well. And of course,
Hippo Bird day to you,
Hippo Bird day to you,
Hippo Bird day dear Karen,
Hippo Bird Day to you!!!!!! And many more!
Thanks, Jenny! :)
Boy, am I SLIPPING! i better the ye olde ceement slushie mixer out and running! Geeze, where's my head? Now I gotta round up Orc and get it fired up! ORC!
Oh David, just in time - everyone is lining up for a slushie....and they are so good when they are made in the cement mixer:D:D:D
You're welcome Karen! I'm glad you really liked the cards. They are making ones for Grampa right now.
The kids and I just picked about 10 lbs of blueberries today. So I think I'll make a blueberry cake. Anyone want a slice. It's almost like eating a blueberry muffin in cake form. So yummy!
Wow, I'll have some! LOVE blueberry cake, yum!
Thanks MOFF. Well, we have had some pretty hot air blowing around for the last two days and now our temps are in the mid 70's. OK, maybe that's not considered hot to you but we are sweatin' it.
Dickie, glad you got your computer. Yes, most of the stuff in those boxes can go right in the recycling. Enjoy!! Hope you see you here more often and perhaps connect with you by phone.
Barkeep, it's my day off today but have so much to do. I plunked a few bottles of home made baileys on the bar. Yummy to the tummy especially when put in coffee. For now, I'll have a spanish coffee please. Need to wake up.:)
Could I please get some blueberry cake? That sounds really good!! Another lemonade slushie would be wonderful as well. :)
Slick, our 5-day goes like this (F):
Mon. 89, PM thunderstorms
Tue. 92, Sunny
Wed. 90, Mostly Sunny
Thurs. 94, Partly Cloudy
Fri. 97, Mostly Sunny
We had rain yesterday afternoon!!!!! It cooled us down for about 5 minutes.
Now it back in the heat only now it's hard to breathe because of the extra mosture in the air. I feel like a steamed clam!!!
I'd love a big cherry limeade, Please??? and 7 iced catnip teas for the monstahs!!!
Cherry limeade coming up! We had rain yesterday, and it's a lovely sunny 74 here now!
Oh-oh-oh.......did Moff say "steamed clam"??? :p Boy - I could go for the real thing, with melted butter for dipping and some clam cakes too. :D
It's beautiful here today too - what a nice break in the weather. It's 88 but there is a nice breeze blowing, super low humidity, and not a cloud in the crystal clear blue sky. Unfortunately it's not going to last. Back up in the 90's and humid is the forecast for the next 10 days. YUK!
Yum, candy-loupe! Thank you, Pomtzu- cantaloupe is one of my favorite snacks. I don't often buy one, because I end up not being able to finish it.
