Beautiful! Yes, he's a Goulden Finch. They're lovely little birds and quite expensive to by as a pet. We had a few rescued ones at my old job.
What is interesting about the Gouldian finch ( aka Rainbow Finch) is the Males can have three different colored heads.

It had to be a male because usually the females in the animals, aren't as pretty as the males are. :p Its a true fact, that in humans females are prettier than males, and in animals males are prettier than females. :pQuote:

Yes, that is quite the bird, hope you did plenty of research on him and take care of him well. Although I can not tell you what kind of bird he is, I can at least tell you he probibly lives in Africa or South America. Alot of times, I wish wonderfull birds such as this one lived in the U.S.A, but then I think they do, and they live right in my own home.:love:
