Sad indeed. I pray that she will at least have a peaceful passing.
What a sorrow. Poor woman.
Such a wonderful woman; I wish her peace, if there are no miracles for her.
I read this on the news as well and it made me so sad for her. Goodness, she sure has gone through a lot and even more now on her plate.
I think I need to light a candle of comfort for her.
I saw that on the news.. I just wanted to cry for her and the ones who love her.
This is so sad.:( She has had so much sadness & heartache in her
short life. May God bless her & grant her peace and a pain free passing.
Sad, but it is a also testament to her strength that she has been living for 6 years with cancer, fighting it, and maintaining her dignity, every step of the way.

Edwards' estranged husband, former presidential candidate John Edwards, and their three children were at her side at their home, the friend reported. Her sister, brother, nieces, nephews, former campaign advisers and other friends were also there. The friend said Elizabeth Edwards is not in pain and in good spirits despite the seriousness of her condition.
Thanks, Candace. I love that picture of her.
Just now heard on the news - Elizabeth Edwards has died.
:(
RIP dear Elizabeth. So few people have thoroughly LIVED as you have.
:( Yes I just read the news of her death.. So Sad.. This was such a strong & self willed person.. RIP & may the Angels have you in Heaven now..
RIP. Sending my thoughts and prayers out to her friends, and family.
Elizabeth had chrisma & her children were her life. May she rest in peace.
May God grant her peace.
Rest in peace Elizabeth - you most certainly deserve peace.
RIP Dear Lady! The world will miss you! My sympathies got out to those that loved her, especially her children.
The dictionary had moved her picture next to the word "class".
RIP.:(
Oh that's sad :( I'm so sorry to hear that
I broke into tears. What an elegant, classy, beautiful woman, despite the tragedies in her life. I heard an interview in which she mentioned seeing her son Wade again when she passes, so she's not afraid. I still mourn my parents, as a grown adult. I can't imagine what her poor children are going through. There's another angel in heaven today.
WHAT a classy lady.
And what a precious gift she gave us: a beautiful example of how to live well and how to die well.
May she rest in peace. God bless you, Elizabeth Edwards.
One of the news channels said the President called her estranged husband and offered his condolences. Mine don't go to that cheating sneak in any way. They go to her children and friends and parents and siblings if she had any. What a brave and gracious lady.
:o Well at least everything is Past Tense for him now.. Hopefully he is not stupid to try to run for any other offices.. I cannot stand to look at the man..
I so did always Admire Elizabeth & loved to hear her talk.. I cried today watching her videos of her talks about death & all.. She was for sure a Hero.. She is in Heaven now with her son..

As Elizabeth Edwards' family makes the final preparations for her funeral, members of a controversial church known for picketing at the memorials of fallen soldiers, says they will protest outside her funeral.
Members of the Westboro Baptist Church are planning to disrupt Edwards' funeral Saturday, saying the wife of former Senator John Edwards is "going to hell" because she admitted to doubting her faith when her oldest son died in 1996.
Its rumored the Patriot Guard will be attending the service after the news of WBC's planned protest.
Glad the Patriot Guard will be there.
I saw this story on the WBC's planned protest...wish there was a national mental health act that allowed the whole lot to be rounded up and held for a 30 day assessment, and kept AWAY from each other.
I am a pacifist and believe in free speach but I REALLY want a baseball bat and have at these idiots!
Reportedly only 5 from Westboro showed up. They had obtained a permit, and were told they could protest in a spot 2 blocks from the church.
They were vastly outnumbered by another group - protesting them. I read that the Westboro 5 left the area by 1230.
I can't believe that what that goof ball group does is not concidered "hate speech" by the powers that be and banned like other hate speech is.
Yes, there was just a report on the local news about Elizabeth's funeral today. Those "Christian" dirtbags showed up but were VASTLY outnumbered by counter-protesters and supporters! Hooray for REAL Christians and other good people!
Can't wait to see the national news coverage. (I only get "antenna" TV stations so I can't see the all-news ones or issue-oriented ones.)
MOFF, your point on hate speech is absolutely right, and I don't know why these alleged "people" aren't subject to repercussions thereto.
Her strange, ur, estranged, husband looked like he quite enjoyed himself. The news was showing clips of the service. He was laughing and shaking hands like he was running for office. If I had been his daughter, I'd have kicked him in the behind.
