Nevada, 1997 - January 20, 2010

I am greatly saddened to tell you that Lillycat's Nevvie was helped to the Bridge yesterday about 5 pm. No sweeter kitty lived. He was a big, grey tabby. His favorite thing was drinking from the tub spicket, loving his special meowmie, and his heart brother, Indra.

Nevvie was diagnosed with a vaccine induced fibrosarcoma, and underwent 3 surgeries, 4 weeks of radiation and 2 rounds of chemo. Nevvie was offered every medical procedure available to cats and humans alike. A chest xray yesterday revealed that the cancer had metasticized to his lungs, and it was compromising his breathing. Lillycat made the very sad, but most loving decision to send him home. Her heart is broken. Please join me in sending her special thoughts and prayers at this most difficult time. Nevvie will be much missed.

Lilycat did the last act of kindness for Nevvie that she could albeit the most difficult. She did the unselfish thing; she thought of Nevvie's comfort before her own sadness. RIP, Nevvie and peace to you, Lilycat. :love:

Dear Lillycat and Jo I send my heartfelt condolences for the loss of Nevada. I know how it is to lose a battle you always knew you could not win.
I am sure Tigris and Nevada will be in the same gang at Rainbow Bridge.

Have a nice long rest Nevada and when you are well rested could you reach down and touch your Mom's cheek with your paw to reassure her that you are alright.

:( Sad to say there will come a day that no matter how hard we and Our White Coats try , our Pets are going to pass away.
Each of has only so much time on Earth, and sadly we outlive so many of Our Fur Companions.
Nevada has a welcoming Commitee waiting home him and tonight at La Nacienda Real, the Carnivore plate of Chickem, Steak, Ribs and Sausages with sauces is ready.
Nevadas spirit will always be with His Family and will find a place where you can all be together once more in love!!

Gosh, I am so sorry to hear this. Brings back bad memories too, as this is what happened to Rutherford as well. (the fibrosacroma from a vaccine and moving to his lungs.)

Nevvie, your cancer is gone and you are bouncing around the RB like a kitten. Have fun up there and watch for my Max. He may not play with you but I'm sure he'll show you where the sweet grasses are.

Lillycat has asked me to thank you all for your kind words. No matter what PT means to any of us, its true colours come through in times like this. She appreciates it all very much.

She is struggling to come to terms with Nevvie's passing. It just seems so wrong, he was so young, we fought so hard, and then he was gone, unexpectedly, after a visit to the vet for lack of appetite.

All of this was enough for any of us to bear. Sadly, this was not the end of things, though it was hard enough. After losing Nevvie on Wednesday, she took another of her kitties, Washy, into the vet for what we thought was constipation. As hard as it is to believe, today's visit confirms it is cancer. It is truly too much. I will post in another thread, but, wanted to let you know that Lillycat just can't come here to tell you how much she appreciates you all. Between Nevvie, now Washy, and a PC that doesn't always work- you will have to accept my words conveying her sentiments.
