Are you ready for the Preakness?

Hey there fellow kitties,
I trust all of you are well and rested up after our trip to Kentucky. I talked to the local Jaguar dealer to see if the eco friendly hybrid Catmobile will be available around May 13 or so. She said it's in the shop for regular maintenance plus they want to check out that issue with the water fountains. It will be ready in plenty of time so I'll contact Pinot about when we should plan to leave.

Don't worry Cassie, Victoria Day at the Found Cats Hotel is part of the itinerary. Pinot is already going over the maps. We plan to swing by Montreal for Ms. Rg_Girlca's fur posse along the way.

Time is running short so please contact Pinot or me to stake your spot in the Catmobile! Have any of you heard from our new horse friends?

Um, there's just one more thing. It seems that our Meowmies think something questionable is going on and we're very secretive about our Catmobile trips when we get home. I saw my Meowmie's message on the other thread and other Meowmies seem to agree that we're up to something. Have any of you seen or heard anything about this? Any idea of what they're thinking? If so, please let us know. We need to keep the upper hand here.

I told my meowmie that what happens on catmobile trips stays on catmobile trips. She was not pleased with that answer, of course. She is still trying to get answers but I am keeping mum.

We were just going to post the Victoria Day Plans too, there a huge Wine and Dinner in Niagara on the Lake with 20 different dinners , some meat some vegan, and 20 wines!!!

Hey kitties!

I'm so excited everyone's coming here for the Preakness! Our friend Mine That Bird will be racing - and hopefully winning - and there will be others we met at the Derby in the competition for the Woodlawn Vase & the blanket of Black Eyed Susans. We can all come to my house for primping and refreshment stops, the ride to Pimlico is short, and we'll have a slumber party in the basement (it's a furnished basement, don't worry!). Meowmie will have everything prepared. There are all kinds of things leading up to the big race, including hot air balloons, parades, breakfast with the jockeys and owners...so many happenings! :D

So, hop on board, kitties, the Catmobile will be on the way shortly and you don't want to miss any of the festivities! The 13th we hit the road! See you soon!

:) They haven't checked in yet, but I think Blue's kitty Erp and Moesha's kitty Morgan need to make their first Catmobile trips! Maybe you can talk them into it, Fister!! :)

My girls are all ready to go. They are intrigued at the jingling noise coming from Daisy's purse. Apparently her trip to the Kentucky Derby was very profitable, and Sammy and Jessica think they may have a little flutter on Daisy's new horsey friends. I have tried to speak to Daisy to make sure there is no suggestion of race fixing here, but she just looks blank. I am a little concerned.

Oh Fister, look at you! Your lovely vintage car is going to attract considerable attention. So much nicer than flying to the US. :D

It's time to turn your cell phones on and kiss your Meowmies good-bye. The Catmobile is leaving Trenton after a stop at the train station to meet a few of our friends. All water fountains are working, plenty of food, a few great movies, a stock of CD's. We are good to go!!!!!

:DWell, the Fister-mobile has met up with the Catmobile and we're well on the way! The crew will be hitting my house late tonight (early tomorrow) for the festivities leading up to the Preakness. There's an escorted tour of the Pimlico Race Track at 6am on Thursday, the 14th, with breakfast at the venue following. This is a very special breakfast with the Jockeys, owners, and the kitties have a special reception in the stables with the horses. There is the Black Eyed Susan race on Friday (for fillies, this is a biggie), and a parade on Friday evening. The horsies have prepared a special spot in the parade for the Catmobile! Then, the big event, the PREAKNESS is on Saturday, the 16th. The kitties have a special spot in the Grandstand (not the lowly infield for MY friends!) and a party following.

Meowmie will be ready for all at the house - it's a Maryland Party, Kitties!:D ...and remember, the code of silence still remains! No humans know the full details!!

Well, thank goodness they got Samantha and Jessica out of the tidal pool! I don't know WHY the kitties came in through DC anyway, but that's another story. The Catmobile had to go rescue that crew it seems.

Meowmies, the kitties are fine! They have all checked in here at Pinot's place, they had their breakfast at Pimlico this morning with the tour, and they're taking a break. Pinot has shown them "her" Robin's nest under her deck; there are babies in there that she has to keep an eye on through the slats. That was quite upsetting to Mama Robin-it's bad enough when just Pinot is out there, but the whole kitty crew!! Oh my!! :rolleyes:

Fister has parked the Fister-mobile for the time being and that group is in the Catmobile for the trips downtown. Pinot's Dad and I have gotten everyone settled downstairs with all kinds of toys and treats, Animal Planet on the TV, and there's lots of gossip going on down there! Tomorrow's another busy day-I hope they get some rest! They're going to meet the GIRL horsies! :)

Oh my- what a cool European car you all are driving! I can see Tigris getting his goggles out and senaking around my purse - I am sure he wants my credit card.

Hi Maggie, Gossip huh? Have you managed to overhear any juicy tidbits? I know for sure you'll pass whatever you hear along to your fellow Meowmies.

Groucho checked in this morning. He said Pinot's purrents are very nice and making sure they are comfortable and have everything they could possibly want. Their new horse pals gave the kitty contingent a wonderful welcome then gave them a tour of the stables followed by a blow-out party. There were even places fixed up inside the stables for any kitties in need of a nap. Groucho then said they were pleasantly surprised when the horses said they made arrangements for the kitties to run a few laps around the race track. Groucho said that was a real treat!

He also said our Lady Edwina got into quite a discussion with the jockeys about wearing more fashionable silks. It seems the girl horses are very impressed with our fashionista and can't wait to talk to her about how to make themselves more fashionable by obtaining the right accessories for their bridles, saddle pads, and blankets. Those fillys couldn't seek better advice!

Has anyone else heard from their fuzzbutt?

Eddie warns the kitties about those sleeping places in the horse barn. He, Fister, and Daisy stopped by to visit his cousins outside of DC...and there are kitties sleeping in the horse barn certainly...but those kitties are expected to....oh he shivers to use the word.....WORK!!!!

Yup...some of his kitty cousins have nice warm beds in the house but there are others...who live in the barn!!!!

Edwina is working up a portfolio of ideas for the horses. I hope nothing she designs interfers with them running!

Well, the kitties have had a day! The Black Eyed Susan race (for those uninformed, the Black Eyed Susan is the Maryland Flower), which is just the lady horses, was won by Payton d’Oro - a lovely girl! Now, I don't know how many are aware, but the kitties have a scoop (again!) that, for the first time in who knows how long, there's a filly favored!! No filly has won The Preakness since 1924! Rachel Alexandra has had a chat with the kitties and she's very confident! Although many of the kitties are still backing their original favorite Mine That Bird, Lady Edwina is backing the fashionable gal Rachel Alexandra. Lady Edwina is not to be reckoned with! ;)

The Catmobile was a hit in the parade this evening. Edwina's designs are the hit of Pimlico! Eddie, as far as those "working" kitties in those barns; don't worry-those kitties are in the lap of luxury!;)

I haven't been able to tune in on the gossip, but if I hear anything I'll let the Meowmies know. You know they can be a BIT secretive!! I'll post any news, but the kitties are fine and resting up for the big event. :D Talk to all soon!

:DThe kitties pick a winner again! Rachel Alexandra is the first filly to win the Preakness since 1924, and only the fifth filly in history!:)

The race was about an hour ago, it should take the kitties some time to report back, but from what I understand, the Fister-mobile and the Catmobile are on to Victoria Day with the Catada crew! They're leaving in the morning and should see their Meowmies on Tuesday. I'll update further when Pinot and the crew return to the house this evening, but I think they'll be at the stables late tonight. Lady Edwina and Rachel Alexandra have some dishing to do!!;)

Cassie said she is having a wonderful time in Maryland, looking forward to Catada, the Catmobile has everything she could possibly need, and home soon.

The kitties are off to Catada- they had a time at the Preakness!! Roco and Pinot danced the night away at the barns, Edwina was a fashion advice counselor to all the fillies especially, Fister had everyone in stitches and gave rides in his sports car, Groucho passed out the usual legal advice, and it seems Daisy was a winner!! :)

I'll wait to hear from all at Victoria Day - have a good trip everyone!!:)
