I love techno and rock. I am a huge fan of Blood on the Dancefloor, Escape The Fate, Brokencyde, Paramore, and a lot more.
What is your favorite kind of music?
Paramore, Coldplay, Escape the Fate, Counting Crows, Yellowcard, We the Kings, Simple Plan, Good Charlotte, Blink 182, The Goo Goo dolls, Chris Daughtry, Greenday, My Chemical Romance, Kid Rock, the Rolling Stones, and I can't think of the rest because there's alot more. :D I like pop, rock, some metal/screamo, and alot of other. Hate classical and rap. Hip hop's okay though :/
I clicked every single one. :D My music tastes are so varied. I like pretty much everything, including Wizard Rock and Time Lord Rock. :p
I especially like movie score, I have so many soundtracks. My favorite composer is Hans Zimmer, even though he does so many movies some of his score starts to sound the same.
Lets see, genres in my itunes library include
Alternative, celtic, classic rock, classical, country, dance, drum and bass, electronic, folk, what I have coined "Jossound" (basically any band Joss Whedon uses in one of his shows.) latin, metal, musical, new age, nu britpop, pop, progressive rock, punk, reggae, remix, rock, ska, soundtrack, techno, trock, UK grime, wrock.
So basically, I like everything there is with very little exceptions.
All of the above but country, and you forgot Punk, Hell Billy, Swing, and Death Metal.
Classical guitar.
I mostly listen to rock and metal. I love Pink Floyd, Muse, Radiohead, Slayer, Metallica, Kings Of Leon, and I've been listening to the Fallout 3 soundtrack a lot, lately :)
I am a country and rock person.
My #1 love is country, but growing up my dad listened to classic rock and that is the other genre I enjoy.
Alternative rock, though I will listen to almost anything.
Since I'm an oldie myself, I enjoy listening to fifties rock & roll and doo-wop music. I also listen to music from the Woodstock era.
Classical
I love country & hip hop. :)
Pop, alternative rock, and also classical! I love violin!!
Being an old fart I love the Oldies. 50's and 60's rock & roll and doo-wop.
I also like jazz, bluegrass, Mountain, Celtic, and classical. My favorite male artist was Elvis. I like the mid to late Country but hated the early 40's to 50's era. My favorite female artist is Renee Olstead.
Her jazz vocals on 'Summertime' were fantastic.
Country and Christian Rock/Pop Music
I like all music. It may be one song that or a number from an artist. So I can not say that I like one over another. Classical, pop, rag, rap, oldies, their all great in their own way.
I'm kind of strange in the fact that I listen to Heavy Metal, Techno, Classical, and Country :D If I had to choose one that I listen to the most, I would say Heavy Metal.
Don't really have a favorite, so I chose "Other." But, if I absolutely had to choose, I'd have to say singer/songwriter stuff. :)
I will listen to most anything, but my fav is alternative rock (pretty varied there). Favourite alt rock bands are Edguy, Disturbed, etc.
I listen to r&b, hip hop, rap, reggae, reggaeton, pop, calypso, soca, gospel, techno/house, bachata, salsa & merengue.
I love all different types of music, but I still seem to be in my Heavy Metal phase at the moment. Can't get enough of Linkin' Park. Just love this band.
Jazz, folk and world music weren't listed and these would be my favorites. I also love artists like Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush and all that odd conceptual sort of stuff. Led Zep and Pink Floyd (prior to 1980) are my all time, old time favorites and were the sound track to my "high" school years.
Classical- and that includes but is not restricted to George Gershwin, Irving Berlin and Cole Porter ;)
Music is my favorite music!
I've been listening to a lot of "oldies" lately... Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty.
Also a lot of newer not so known bands/people like Paul Baribeau, Maps & Atlases, RX Bandits/Love You Moon and a bunch of local friends of mine!
Amazing that Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, Bruce Springsteen & Tom Petty
are oldies!!! "Oldies" to me used to mean music from the 50's. . .now it's the music I grew up with! Geesh!!
Cathy
I love country and classic rock...
Rock, blues and classical (Bach). :) Playing "Riding with the King" by Clapton/B.B.King right now.
what i don't like is opera, most bluegrass and gangsta rap. my ipod is pretty eclectic. i just ordered Bach in Havana2009, bachs' music to a salsa beat....
My music tastes really vary a lot, i still like my old bands, like Metallica, supertramp,Chicago,Doobie Brothers,Neil Young,Joe Cocker, Eagles, America, Barry White, Fleetwood Mac,Santana,Bob Segar,Earth, wind a nd fire, just to name but a few, but I also love some of the new Music around, Coldplay,Goodnite Nurse,Creed, I love our local bands, Nesian Mystik, katchafire,Ardijah, and many more, the ones i don't care for are Techo,Rap,Opera-classical and Country, although some rap songs i can almost tolerate.
I actually like swing music and songs from way before my time also.
And because i am scottish and was raised with the music, give me the old bagpipes and accordian any day, i enjoy listening to scottish music now and then.
I like most types of music, being a trained musician, but I really like folk music and old time bluegrass and mountain music. I grew up with classical music and really like the Baroque period. Big band is great too. Mannheim Steamroller is awesome; I remember when their music came out before it called New Age.
As for modern music, I listen to pop rock and classic rock, even like positive rap, but you don't hear much of that. I'm in that small percentage of people that cannot listen to LOUD music. I get physically sick.
However, my cats do not like country-western or bluegrass. If I am travelling with them I have to put on talk radio. They will howl if I play Country.
I voted OTHER
My main likes are rock and pop, but I can take a little bit or more of almost any kind of music.
The only thing I would rather not listen to at all is opera and rap/hip-hop.
I seem to prefer songs that are Rock/Alternative; Pop or Techno/Electronic. oops,, an i forgot to vote for Other cuz i like some Indie sometimes too. but i prefer songs over genres. so it can vary.
I don't like most country or bluegrass, but my iPod is pretty varied. I have everything from about every genre. I love oldies since I grew up listening to them, but my favorite is Rock/Metal though. Nickelback, Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, etc.
My music taste is varied as well. I like hip hop (not hard core rap), pop, rock, alternative, acoustic, blues, etc. Some of my favorite artists are Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jack Johnson, John Mayer, Citizen Cope, Will Smith (call me a dork lol), Kanye West (as a producer), and a lot more!
I absolutely love my symphonic metal...bands like:
Nightwish
Epica
Within Temptation
Flyleaf
Lacuna Coil
HIM
And metal like Metallica of course! :D
if it's on the radio, I probably don't like it. :)
As you have probably noticed, first and foremost I am a Beatles fan. Then comes John Lennon. After that, all the other bands like Vampire Weekend, Passion Pit, Basement Jaxx, and Sublime are kind of lumped together.
Happy to give anything a listen although have been known to utter the ultimate old fogey phrase of "call this music? In my day at least you could hear the lyrics.........."
I love epica and flyleaf is up there on my list. I have been very curious about Nightwish as well, and HIM is often played at my place. Lacuna Coil has a gorgeous voice as well!!
I am into heavy metal though. Favorite bands consist of 36 Crazyfists, Threat Signal, and Killswitch Engage. Also really like Protest the Hero, Strata, In Flames, Into Eternity, BFMV, As I lay Dying, Atreyu, and the list goes on!!!!!!!!! Very interesting to see the variety of music everyone listens to!!
