Is there a pet you wish you could have but know it'll never happen. Explain why this pet would never work for you.
I would love to have lots of horses, goats and even a cow or two. I don't see myself having enough land for them.

A lovely kitty cat - I am horrifically allergic to them, and my sister is still highly allergic to them after 10+ years of shots to try to eliminate the allergy.
there are a few animals, won,t say pets as they are not intended that way, that I would Looooove to have but will NEVER have... for obvious reasons... they are not pets...(mostly wildlife)
I would love to have horses but don't think I will ever have enough land or money.
Saltwater fish but don't think I could handle cleaning or the expence
I would love to have a big dog like a lab, german shepherd,doberman,ect...but don't think I could handle a big dog
Well... hopefully it will happen.... but not while I live with my parents....
I would love a dog but my mum probs wouldnt be able to cope, my favs are german shepherds, cocker spaniels and golden retrievers.
I would LOVE LOVE LOVE a cat but we live by a main road and my parent dont believe in inside only cats :(
Even tho I'm a "little dog person", I always wanted an Old English Sheepdog. I just love their goofy, lumbering, clumsy manner. I have the room (land wise), but wouldn't be able to keep one in the house, and all my poochies have always been house dogs.
Anything farm animal. Welsh pony, a zebu, a cow, a donkey, a zedonk, a llama, chickens. But I'll never have enough money to buy a farm.
An iguana!
I believe I will have one someday. I will save my mum's sanity and wait until I move out first, though.
She doesn't like the idea of a little Godzilla under her roof. ;-)
I always wanted a horse but I won't have enough money to be able to board the horse somewhere. :/
I also always wish I could have a snake. I love snakes and lizards. But my mom would never let me get one.
Lol what animal wouldn't I like to keep as a pet? I wouldnt mind getting a snake or a lizard, but I dont have the money,or the space, plus the parents dont like snakes.
I wish I could have a horse and a dog. I can see it happening in the future. Especially because some of the boarding barns here are about half the cost of where I used to live.
Goats. I want goats! Pygmy Goats in particular. I love goats!
We plan to move farther out of town in the next five years.....I will have goats then!
MORE CATS! Not enough room though.
Slightly OT, though this thread reminded me of it...MANY years ago, when my sister and I were pre-teen or in our early teen years, dad said one morning that he had a dream that my sister wanted a Siamese Duck!
(no, Dad really didn't drink a lot at all! And there is no such thing...except as a restaurant dish!)
When I was little, I wanted a fox. When asked for a second choice, I said I wanted a shark. ;)
I wish I could have a Maltese, or a Yorkie.... I've wanted a small dog for quite some time now! I'd also love a cat. But I just don't know how my girls would take to that... and I probably don't really want to find out.:)
A horse. I have absolutely no place to keep one nor the time and money to feed and properly care for it. My mom said we could tie it in the backyard :p.
Maybe someday though after I move out and everything. I've always wanted a horse.
Well.. I've always said I wanted a dinosaur.. LOL I don't think that'll ever happen.
I would love sheep for the dogs to herd, but there's just no space in the city. I've always wanted a horse too.. I may end up boarding one day though.. who knows
I voted "cat" and "dog"!
Let's explain that :)
- I would love it soooo much to have a huge longhaired Main Coon!
- As a child I loved to watch the movies with "Lassie"! So I've always wanted such a beautiful doggie!
I've always wanted a monkey. I don't see that happening though.
Other than that, I've always wanted a bird besides cockatiels or parakeets, and I'm getting my little Scarlet (Cinnamon Green Cheek Conure) soon.
The one other kind of bird I would absolutely love to have is an African Grey. But I don't see that happening either, as much as I would love to.
Fish. They're beautiful and relaxing and I'd love to have a big fish tank (either salt or fresh water) but I'm so bad with fish. I've just never done well with them.
More than anything I want chickens and my husband has promised to build me a chicken coop this winter (an advantage to not having snow in Florida!) so I can get some chicks in the spring!
I want goats and I've been reading up on them like mad so I can hopefully get some in a couple years.
#1 Horse(s)
#2 pet steer or heffer
#3 alpacas
I also love fish but don't have a fish tank at the moment.
1. A black lab puppy
2. Austrailian Shepherd
3. Chinchilla
Alaskan Malamute
A Leonberger. I don't want any more pets for a long time... and can't have any more for a long time, but when the time is right (like 20 years down the road, lol), I will have a Leonberger. And someday I'd like a Belgian Shepherd too. Aside from those, I would like more tollers throughout my life (of course!).
The only future pets I want are dogs. I don't have a desire to have anything else.
i'd love to have some horses and other large animlas...maybe it'll happen someday and maybe it won't...who knows!
I would love to have a dog some day. Hopefully, when I get a more consistent work schedule and a dog-friendly home.
I desperately want a Miniature Donkey... a fuzzy, silly, tiny one.

*le sigh...*
Oh, and I would love a small herd of Angora Sheep.
I have been so blessed in my life for I grew up on a farm with dogs, cats, rabbits, cows, horses, ducks, geese and cute pigs.
I would however love to have a Tiger and or Lion to help raise them, protect them and release back to the wild. Or a polar bear, hippo, seal, Tazmanian Devil.
Two critters come to mind....
First, because of the danger factor, I will not be able to own one of these...

A leucistic cobra.
Second, because of legality, I will probably never be able to own one of these...

Nutria!
I wish I had tropical fish, but I'll never keep them because of the time, effort, and work involved.
I wish I had a horse, can't say never though. ;)
I would like a...

I think these are amazing and beautiful creatures! I have always wanted to own one.....or three!!
I said Horse, cattle, etc. It's not possible right now. Specifically a clydesdale LOL, I love clydesdales. I said frogs, snakes, etc because I cannot feed something live mice or insects. EW!! :p I want a green tree frog so bad lol. Turtles are illegal in New Jersey...
And the pet I want most, A fennec fox-
They are illegal in the entire US I believe. Very cute animals, and in some countries they are legal but I can't see moving out of a country just to get a pet lol.
Oh, I remembered one that slipped my mind....
Piranhas! For years I have been drooling over these fish, but thanks to the mean ol' state of Arkansas it is illegal to have them here. :-(
Are you certain? Not too long ago I saw a Fennec Fox for sale at an exotic pet store in Missouri.
He was a cute little bugger. :-)
Edit/ I also found a Breeder Directory online. I am sure some states allow them as long as you have the proper licensing. :) I could be wrong, though.
That Nutria eating a lollipop picture is too funny.
I voted poultry, because I would absolutely love to have an African Grey, or Goffin, (or even an Amazon). However, I don't think I'll ever convince myself I am ready to have a toddler for that many decades .
I picked other as I currently have now or have in the past had most on the list of choices (well never a monkey and don't really want one..lol). What I would like to have is a Serval or Caracal but they are illegal here so I have to wait until I move. I didn't think these qualified under "cat" as I figured that be domesticated cat just like "dog" wouldn't be wolf or coyote so I picked other hope that was right. I also would like to have a Hedgehog and Arctic Fox too.
I would have kind of liked to own a cat at some point in my life, but I am deathly allergic to them, so it was never even a remote possibility.
I had ducks when I was a kid, and loved them. I would like to have some again if I had some land out of town and a pond, and of course, lived somewhere warmer! So, frankly, I'll probably never own a duck again.
What I'd really like to own is a platypus, a koala bear and a seal. Hmmm ... I'm thinking probably not going to happen. ;)
