Fox Red is considered just a dark shade of yellow in the Labrador.
It is how Labs used to be back in the day, until someone got it in their head that Labs should be more yellow. At least that's the history I've found online.

All 3 were in avoidance mode all day. Sasha is not the least bit interested in Chance. He's chased her a couple of times. Hopefully she will accept him.Quote:

That is how it seems with the redder golden retrievers too. You look back at the goldens from years ago and they were more red and "setter-like" in appearance. Now the preferred is more blonde, shorter and blockier.Quote:

The kittens have come right up to him this morning. He was nose to nose with Cali for a brief moment before she decided that was enough. It appears the shock is over for the kitties.
Chance is beautiful! Just as cute as a bug in a rug -where in the heck did that phrase ever come from? There used to be a fox red lab that come to the Findlay Dog Park. I have not seen it in a long time but I do not go out to the dog park as much as I used to. I'm thinking it belonged to an older gentlemen that wasn't doing much training so it used to make the other dogs mad cause it wouldn't leave them alone. But a very, very beautiful dog! PLease post lots of pictures of Chance as he grows - it will be fun seeing him change from a little guy to a big guy!

Finn was considered a fox red, too...although not nearly as red as Chance. I prefer the darker yellows, although they're all pretty! Such a cute puppy! :)

Whew! OK, I'm back up! Chance is handsome little guy! I LOVE his coloring! Something tells me he's going to make a gazillion new friends. Maybe you need to put a sign on him saying *I Am A RED FOX LAB!* so you don't spend 24/7 explaining! Congratulations!! Woo! Woo!
