New Puppy In The House

Well, I did it. I adopted a little guy from the Southside
Animal Shelter in Indy yesterday afternoon. He's 8 weeks
old, mixed breed (Rottie/Shepherd) they think. He's has the
most beautiful, soulful eyes, and typical Rottie like markings.
I'm sure Buddy would approve of this little guy. Haven't
quite settled on a name yet, but I'm thinking of Smokey or
maybe Duffy. Oh , there's nothing quite like walking around
the kitchen floor barefoot with a puppy chewing on your
toes. LOL. :D I'm getting film tomorrow and I'd like to post
a few pictures for you all to see this little one. He makes
me feel alive again.:D Liz.

Congratulations Liz!!! Can't wait to see the pictures of your beautiful new boy! Nothing helps the heart mend quite like puppy kisses!!!

I'm sure Buddy is pausing in his play at the Bridge to smile and wag his tail upon observing your new furpup! You do him a great honor, by saving a life in his place. he's a "keeper" for sure. I will start with the pictures this

I believe I probably made a mistake starting this thread in
Dog Health, but I didn't realize which area I was in when I
started the post. I had just finished reading Trisha0503's
posting of "A Simple Message From Your Pet" posted for
Darin in the loss of Blanca. Something about that beautiful
poem

Companions such as you are very rare and unique.
Don't hold the love that you have within yourself.

Your pet in heaven.

That passage brought tears to my eyes, but really does
express exactly how I feel about Buddy and me. He will
never leave my heart, & I do feel his presence , his spirit
will always be with me. Bud would want me to be happy & to share my love with another pup. Love really never dies. How

I felt your pain... and now that you've got SMOKEY, I'm so happy for you and for this furbaby, knowing that he's very lucky for having a wonderful Mom like you.... Buddy's special place in your heart can NEVER be replaced, but it can be SHARED with other furbaby like SMOKEY...

Liz I am just finding this thread now and I just can't even put into words how happy I am for you! This is just wonderful news! I am looking forward to meeting this special little guy. Boy has he landed himself in a great home or what?! I remember those days of chewed up feet and chewed up shoes. :) Just like the others, I am looking forward to lots of pictures and stories!!!

Just wanted to let you know that I turned in the first
film roll yesterday and should my CD & pics back by this
weekend. I might need some help getting them on here,
but I think I'll be able to do it. I want to have pics of both
Buddy and Smokey Joe in my sig. You know after I retire,
I would love to do some volunteer work at the Shelter. So
many furkids, there's always a need for people to help out.

Kiss your babies for me & tell Mike I said Hi. Oh, when I
get the pics I'll probably post them in Dog General thread.

Oh Liz, I was watching the animal planets the Pet Psychic tonight and she had on there a lady who was contacting her dog that had crossed and she had a little grey poodle names Smokey Joe!!!
We have a local DJ on the radio named Smokin Joe.

Luv4dogs. I don't have a scanner or dig camera either, but I get my film developed at walmart and you can have them put on a cd or posted on www.walmart.com and then you can download them onto image station or webshots. Or if you get your film developed at K-mart they put on their website anyway. I am sure other places offer the same type of thing. What I have been using alot more often is www.yorkphoto.com . They are very reasonable and for an extra $1.25 you can put them on their website and download them also. It takes about a week to get their pics back which is what it usually takes for me to get my pics from anywhere else b/c I live about a half hour from Walmart or anywhere else.

OMG!!! He is just absolutely adorable. I missed him on the website. Thanks Phred for posting the pictures. I like the new picture of Buddy too. I'll be he's giving guidance to little Smokey Joe and we just don't know it. I'm sure he approves so Mom won't be lonely.
