I usually take my shoes off immediately when I get home. My BF, on the other hand, puts shoes on immediately when he gets up. The other morning he was in the kitchen making coffee in his robe with flip-flops on. I was laughing!!!
So, what do you prefer?
NO shoes! :)
I prefer no shoes, but since my room is in the basement and my in-laws run their business out of their basement, theres usually scraps of metal and little pieces of wire all over floor and it really is unsafe to walk around without shoes on. Plus I haaaaate getting my socks dirty!
I would love to just walk around barefoot though as shoes really are uncomfortable to wear inside the house :(

I sued to go barefoot at home. Then one day I was walking a bumped into a chair, stubbed my toe. At least, I thought I did. IT HURT! Then it swelled up like a sausage and turned blue and purple! Found out I had broken it via x ray. Must be 10 years ago, now.
Ever since, I wear flip flops in the house. Which I do NOT consider shoes, snicker. I only put on shoes just before going out, and they are the first thing off, even before I unpack groceries. My feet do NOT like being closed in!
Oh, and I seldom wear shoes, either. I use sneakers about 98% of the time.
I voted 'other'. I don't put my shoes on unless I have to, but once I have them on I don't take them back off unless I have to. It's a weird quirk of mine, so I guess that I hate to put on and take off shoes not really have a preference whether I'm wearing them or not. lol
I voted Other. I put slippers on as soon as I get home. Fortunately in my job I can wear sneakers but I still prefer my slippers once I am home. :)
I prefer to be barefoot when inside. Shoes are not allowed in the house (mum's rule), so they are all left at the door. Plus, if I wear shoes I always feel like I need to go somewhere, so I tend to be restless.
around here wearing shoes in the house is considered incredably rude. shoes are removed at the door weather its your house or not. so no I dont wear shoes in the house lol

In the house I'm always barefoot. I usually put flip flops on when I'm in the yard though.

lol I dont mean that its a personal rule, in this part of the country, its social custom to always remove shoes at the door, not doing so is considered highly improper. its not just homes either, this social rule extends to schools, churches, rec centers, open houses, some docters offices etc..Quote:

I cannot walk about in slippers or barefoot all day, I need the orthotics that I put in my shoes or my feet will ache by the end of the day, if I walk a lot. However, when I am seated anywhere, the shoes come off.
I wish it was custom here. My house might stay a little cleaner!!! But then again, Zoee tracks in stuff anyway. :rolleyes: :DQuote:

In the summer my shoes are off. Even outside. By the end of the day my feet are a totally different color.
Any other time of the year my shoes are on until all the dogs are pottied. Then they come straight off.
No shoes in my house. I figure if I can 'train' a toddler to do it, anyone can learn. :)
ew, shoes. I find it funny that some people don't consider flip flops as shoes. There were several summers when I only wore the same pair of dirty flip flops, even when I went on vacation.
When my family wears shoes in the house I get extremely annoyed. Mostly because my room is in the basement and it seems to magnify the sounds made in the rest of the house so my sister walking around upstairs in tennis shoes sounds like someone's stomping around in army boots.
In the house I have to wear no shoes, and I can't go to bed with my sock on either, for some reason. Even when I'm cold.
I voted sometimes I wear shoes at home. Quite frankly, weather has almost everything to do with it. If it is cold and dry I wear shoes until I go to bed because it is too cold not to. If it is cold and wet/snowy outside the shoes are left by the front door and slippers are put on. If it is warm outside, the shoes come off as soon as I sit on the couch to get comfortable, so my feet can breathe, but the shoes usually go back on when I want to walk around the house. The only time they don't is in the middle of summer when it is just too hot to wear shoes. I really feel quite vulnerable moving around without something protecting my feet. I always have been that way. You will almost never find me wearing sandals and absolutely never will I wear flip flops. Flip flops are not shoes. ;) :D :p
usually because I always have to go outside with the dogs and chase Miagi or Tiger if they get out. but usually for that I wear slippers. :p at work I HAVE to wear shoes - I work at my local animal shelter and it would be bad if I went bare foot. ;)
Shoes all the time. I hate being barefoot. I take my shoes off at other people's homes, but never at my own. I don't expect guests to take their shoes off. Not only do I hate being barefoot, but around here you never what you might step in!!
I hate tennis shoes but seeings that I have broken my foot 3 times in 2 years I have to wear them and can't wear flip flops - I gave my flip flops to my mom and only have sturdy looking sandals.
I don't go barefoot out of the house b/c of my foot fracture AND b/c I've been stung too many times on the bottom of my foot.
But in the house I'm barefoot especially this time of the year. In the winter I wear slippers or slipper socks.
I never wear my shoes in my house. I barely ever wear socks. It's not a rule in my house but it's WAY more comfortable. When I am rushing, coming in for a minute, etc. I wear my shoes but that's it. :p
I wear flip flops all the time in the house. Too many cat toys to be stepping on, lol!
For work, as soon as it's warm enough, I wear my sandals. Thank goodness they haven't "outlawed" them in our school district yet. If it's cold and snowy, then I wear my shoes, but as long as it's nice out, it's always sandals. They have a thing about no flip flops on the kids, for safety reasons, but they never enforce it.
I can not stand to wear shoes, I hate wearing them when I have to leave....lol So when I am home, except for Reilly's walks I never wear them at all.....:D
No shoes because my parents hate shoes inside the house :rolleyes:.
I wear flip flops all the time even in the house. I can't stand for my feet to get dirty:D I don't know what I'd do w/out flops!!!!
No shoes inside (and sometimes no socks either)... Cassie knows that when I'm putting shoes on, I'm leaving her!
NO Shoes! I hate shoes! The only time I wear them is IF I have to for work.... soon as I am home, they come off.... spring, summer, winter, fall.. I hate shoes! and I cannot wear just plain socks without shoes.... I'd go barefoot all day, every day if i could.... Currently though I haven't had shoes on for a couple months... I wear my favorite, beat up pair of flip flops everywhere anymore... though i've had to super glue the straps back together on them a couple times... might want to get new ones soon LOL but I love them!...
I don't wear shoes unless we are actually going some where.. And when I do wear shoes, most of the time its flip flops.. The only time I actually wear any other type of shoes is when its cold outside.. Since I've lived in SC & TX, it doesn't get all that cold, so I get to wear flip flops through out most of the year.
Unless I am driving, when we are in the car I take my shoes off as well.
If I'm going out in the back yard to let the doggies potty, I will some times put my floppers on, but thats only if I have to actually go out in the grass.. We have a back porch that extends pretty far, so I can go to the edge while they do their business.
I never wear shoes in the house, but if it's cold I do wear slippers.

First three things that come off when I walk in the door are my shoes and my bra. Guys, be lucky you have to wear one of THOSE things (bras, that is).
