First, I hope the fair went really well - I looked at it on the internet and it looks like a blast! Was the weather good?
Also - I think Reggie has been to the vet by now? Just wondering how the puppy made out there. :)

Thanks for making this thread, I was wondering this also.
Well, the bad thing is that We made NOTHING! So reggie cant go to the vet. But she is very well and in no need to go to the vet.Quote:

Alright, from what has happened in the Gabbly and what i know is about to happen here i am starting to consider leaving Pet Talk for good. I no longer feel really welcome here. Everyone is mad at me and critisizes me everywhere i go on here.
We just want the best for Reggie...Quote:

I though YOU were getting $500?
Poor Reggie.

But if your mom's friend took her to her vet - and she used to be a vet - I guess that's the best you can do.
I have been informed extensively of Collin's 'situation', and have heard the most extraordinary reasons behind not being able to do this/that/the other, and it just seems that his savings of 1 penny (yes, you read that right) and his home being completely isolated for miles and miles, yet still contained within a small town, he just cannot get that doggie to a vet.
But it's OK, because daddy's getting him a shiny new dell computer for Christmas!
So, we can all relax now.
(insert rolly eyes here)
How old are you Collin? Just curious.
Collin is 13.
Yes, i am. Ok lets just everyone just chill. Stress and arguing is what destroys our lives single-handedly. Preventing it makes your life much better.Quote:

Collin - if there was no money made, then you had to pass on the new computer, I would guess.
Take care.
Why does that just sound like a bunch of crap? I mean, I feel for the family situation, but I also feel for the dog.Quote:

Not trying to bash you Collin, but I just feel badly for Reggie. If you really wanted to save up money, you and your parents would find a way to do it, somehow. I mean, it's a lot less than buying a computer, so if you're saving up for that, then just tack on another $60 bucks and go to the vet on the way to pick up the PC.
Hello, i made NOTHING! So i got NOTHING!. Ok collin, just chill. Dont listen to the people, just chill.Quote:

Also, this mother of a friend of yours, she USED to be a vet? That's odd, it would seem unlikely that someone who has studied for many years to become one would suddenly drop out of such a career. And I doubt she's of retiring age if your friend is the same age as you. Plus, if she is no longer a vet, then she cannot give an official diagnosis in a surgery personally.
None of this adds up. I've heard too much piffle from this young man to believe anything now. I think my opinion on the matter is final and everything I wished to say was said on the gabbly chat.
So, good day to all.
I'm really sorry I defended you in the other thread. I really thought you were smart enough to take Reggie to the vet. Guess not...Quote:

Do you know anyone that knows a vet and could call in a favor?
What happened to your $500 that you had. Already spent it on your computer, huh? Can't you see Reggie is sick. Just because she stopped peeing blood doesn't mean she is better! :mad:Quote:

so she drank some kool aid I presume?
:( I sure hope she's internally okay.
I saw the other threads just now, in fact if you can't tell already you're spoiling your reputation here more than not having the right computer for school.. (which you're only gonna be there for next one or two years in your entire life) that makes me guess you're more into things than precious living things - that's ok - not everyone loves animals as much as we do but I certianly do hope she'd be rehomed to a better home soon somehow. as soon as possible, wouldn't that be a lot less stress for all of you?
and only with that, we can help - can you too?
None of the vets in the area - extremely rural area, BTW - have payment plans.
I did have an offer from the Lumpkin Shelter - I spoke to a lady there, and she said to make sure the family talks to HER - they could TEMPORARILY surrender Reggie, Reggie would get a complete check with their vet and shots, and then they could adopt Reggie back for $85.
I think that was a really good offer, as she was making exceptions to their policy. But Collin's parents did not find out, as he did not tell them. (and that meant he might have to tell them someone else called the shelter...from Canada, yet. Could be nasty.)
And ONE NOTE, if I remember right...Collin said he was getting $500 after the fair at the end of the month, and that his parents were taking Reggie to the vet.
I hope he's able to cancel the computer order, as he indicated it was non-refundable.
Also, his parents had booths at the fair. Rental for these can be very expensive...and you have to hope you make enough to pay the rent and power(if you are cooking hot dogs, you gotta hook up gas or electricity).
I do think Collin should have waited til the fair was over before he ordered...but that's hindsight now.
At this point, Reggie is not having problems. I suggest - JMO - that we drop this whole thing.
If you think everything Collin posts is BS, then stop posting on his thread and replies.
Neither my post - nor any others - are going to change the facts of the matter.
So pretty much everyone should stop replying cause I think everyone except you thinks it's all BS.Quote:

But, I have to say what I think, and if I think his posts and actions are BS, then yes, I will say so, to inform others of information I have gained, and, as we all live in hope, to shock Collin to the reality of the situation. Don't know if the latter will happen, though, sad to say.
Another thing I don't understand is they evidently had money enough to rent a booth, and if that's as expensive as you imply it is, surely that would have covered at least a check-up?
Plus, Collin said his family was expected to make about $1500 at this fair, $500 of which would be his; I just don't see how one can get absolute zilch when the expectations were so high.
The shelter idea is a good one though, and it's great that the shelter are prepared to bend the rules. I hope Collin realises how fortunate he is to have a) a 'stranger' from another country prepared to sort his business out for him and b) such a good opportunity to treat Reggie. I think if he takes it, it'll prove whether he actually cares for the dog, or not.
You didnt make ANYTHING?
I would of thought a hot dog stand would of taken off especially at an event like that. As for the art and crafts, people take money to spend on things like that.
You really dont have any luck do you....
Ive read through quite a few of your thread today and you need to lose the attitude. People on pet talk are animal lovers and I know you are playing on that.
Either get the poor dog to the vet or rehome her. Dont make the poor animal suffer because of your childish needs, Yes shes stopped peeing blood but SHE STILL NEEDS TO SEE A VET! you want to be viewed as an adult then act like one! If you do indeed build computers how about making a job of it? Yes your at school but you've build 11 already a few more wouldn't hurt.. You really do need to come clean because you are playing with alot of peoples emotions on here and there is no excuse for that no matter what your age is.
No matter who tries to help you, I think Catty is such a fantastic member of PT and you can tell what a devoted lady she is to animals and people like you really wind me up when you cant be bothered to accept any help. If its needed at all.
My little brother is 10 and even he would know that an animals life is more important than any toy or computer.
No excuse whatsoever.
I know I will get flamed for writing my mind but Im so sick of seeing him exploit peoples emotions for fun, Hes sat in a chatroom before watching his pug "die" before and she suddenly made a miracle recovery within a few minutes of a vet being mentioned.
I pray for Reggie's health and well being and hope that one day Reggie gets the medical attention she very well needs. :(
Holly, I couldn't agree more. I wouldn't worry about getting flamed, everyone has a right to say their piece.Quote:

And yes, I remember the 'blue gums' incident...
It's a very sad situation.
Collin claims to be a 13 yr old who apparently has the following attributes or characteristics:Quote:

4. Can post on the Internet from 4PM past midnight, and be fresh and ready for the next day. I needed 10 hrs of sleep when I was that age.
5. Able to keep chilled, while causing the adults he is conversing with to bounce off the walls. Not bad technique for a supposive 13 yr old(?).
Typical Reggie post one every other month or so in frequency:
1. Symptoms are usually serious (latest episode suggests a kidney stone or the like). The dog's symptoms usually indicate the dog is suffering more than just a little.
2. There is always the theme of asking what can be done, with the caveat the family is broke, and can not afford a Vet.
3. Almost an anticipation of the possible responses with most well thought out, but a few responses with well designed holes in the logic so as to provoke more discussion down a blind alley.
Over all the monthly or bi-monthly Reggie is sick again post does offer the forum a chance to discuss the health issue brought up, or learn about a topic that might affect one's own dog(s) in the future. From that perspective the Reggie is sick again post can be self-educational once you get past the emotional set up of the post. ;) IMO I find the Reggie is sick again posts less annoying than posts of people wanting to know how to breed dogs for the fun of it after the fact. Thank goodness Reggie is a male! :D

No but i storngly perdicted it but we had the tent NEAR Gold Rush, not IN Gold Rush. That may be why we made nothing. We couldnt afford the slot for an tent that is barely as wide as an car.Quote:

Just a suggestion. Trying to help.
