She was lip syncing and didn't even try to make it look like she was singing!
At one point she even stopped singing!!!!

I didn't watch the award show, but I did see a little online video of her performance. She looked like she was staggering around and not sure what she was doing. Don't know exactly what was going on with her, seems like she's been really going downhill lately. I actually kind of feel bad for her (although I feel much worse for her kids). It's pretty bad when K-fed is looking like the better parent.
O.M.G. I saw it online bacause I heard it was so horrible. LOL. The guy on the radio this morning was like "Brittney was a humiliation to anyone who has ever out on a preformance. Yes, I am talking about she even shamed Ashlee Simpson on SNL and Sanjaya Malakar." I was laughing my head off. 50 cent's face was priceless.
I didn't see it. I'm just very sorry that there aren't people around her who love her. Truly love her to help her see that she needs help.
Just saw it on youtube. Sadly I can't say I'm shocked. I know she had screwed up her life, but I feel sorry for her. She just looks mentally and physically drained. She needs help.
Yeah, I saw it. I saw the red carpet preshow too on MTV. When the reporters asked the varieous celebrities what they looking forward to for the evening, all of them said "Britney's Performance of course" ... all of them sounded ironic when answering so they already knew it was going to be bad.
She looked like she was in slow motion most of the time. The song wasn't very good at all... She should just retire and live off royalties of past records.
Just too too bad.
On another note.... Chris Brown was hot. :)
I saw THAT on the news. All I can say is WOW! :eek: She looked like she was on drugs or something. The sad thing is she probably could have redeemed herself a little with this performance, but unfortunately she just dug herself deeper into the hole she was in.

Saw Dr Phil on The View - and he said that he would sit her down and tell her things straight. He said she is surrounded by butt-kissers who will never tell her the truth straight to her face.
BTW - Lip Synching is ALWAYS done for a dance and song bit. Holy Cow - NO one can move around and dance AND sing - the breathing methods required by each are totally opposite.
When a performer has a perfectly recorded version of the song, they aren't going to risk screwing it up live. Lip synch!
I think Britney was pushed back into a comeback WAY too soon...she is just stressed and tired.
Her people should book her on Dr Phil...great ratings, and maybe some REAL help for her and others in her situation.

NB - This is nothing new - young Judy Garland was kept on uppers by the studio, she was 17 in the Wizard of Oz, and they wrapped her chest really tightly so she would look 12.
Dr Phil called much of this 'feeding the monster' - buying the recordings and other products that the industry Products (Britney, Paris, Lindsay, etc) make. And they live in the a**-kissing world where no one dares tell them NO...and they have lived in that bubble much of their lives.

I saw just a quick clip on David Letterman's show. She looked distracted to me.
All I hear on the net is how fat she looked.
If that's fat, then I want to be fat....really really bad.
However, after seeing a video of her performance, I think she lacked the confidence we've seen from her in the past. I think she needs therapy to build up her self-esteem.
Rumor has it she broke down and cried after the performance. I feel kind of bad for her.

Total train wreck. She really blew what was supposed to be her comeback. We're having her body discussion on another forum. Yeah, I'd like to be that fat, too. I agree with another person that said she could have chosen different clothing and still looked sexy. What she was wearing just didn't cut it.
Caseysmom: Unfortunately, "pretty good" doesn't go very far in Hollywood and stardom. But her clothing was the least of her worries, anyway.
