My other best friend....by Tehya

Anvik is hiding in his dog house today and he won't come out. I think he has a bone in there! So I had to find someone new to wrassle with this afternoon.

For some reason the other big dogs pick on Pacer. Mom says they have beat him a couple times and he had to go to the vet and get stitches and everything. I don't know why they would do that. Pacer is a nice boy! He's very shy, but he wouldn't hurt nothing! I hang out in his pen when Mom isn't home. Pacer isn't allowed in the big yard unsupervised in case he gets picked on again. I'm not allowed there when Mom isn't home, cuz I just get myself into all sorts of stuff!

Mom said it almost made her cry watching us play. Pacer had a hard life for a long time and Mom says it's very rewarding(whatever that means) to see him acting like a "normal" dog.

When I get to wear my harness and run with the big dogs, me and Pacer are gunna be running partners. Mom says he will be a good teacher for me. I figure that's fair. He can teach me how to be a sled dog, cuz he's really good at it and I will teach him how to play and not worry all the time, Cuz I'm really good at that!

Aww!! Tehya!! Leaky eyes here. How sweet of you to teach Pacer to play. I'm sure he'll teach you to be a great sled dog. :D

*laugh, chuckle* Oh Teyha, no one can get away with NO PLAY when you are around, even the doggie-zens (dog senior citizens). I can see YOU had a great time. And I do believe Pacer had fun too. She is learning the "back off" signals from other dogs. Doesn't mean she listens to them, but she starting to realize when she needs to move on to a different dog!

Pacer would like me to point out that he is much older than Tehya, but he's not one of the old-timers around here yet. Best guess is he's 7 now. He was a young adult when he arrived here and that was about three and half years ago.

:D :D :D Yup, Pacer looks very happy. We don't see many pictures of Pacer, and I don't think I've ever seen him smile like this before. You're a wonderful pup, Tehya, spreading your special sunshine everywhere you go!

Those are wonderful images of two happy dogs. Thanks for sharing Tehya's happiness and Pacer's progress. He sure looks happy to have Tehya to play with. I can't wait to see her in harness!

2)WHAT is the bridge-like structure toward the back of the deck, running to
the left in the picture, visible above the wheelbarrow?
Looks like railing-height side rails, and WINDOWS in the left end?

You Guys have the MOST Unique "stuff" I've ever seen!

Yup, it's a dually wheelbarrow! Very stable, goes over bumps without tipping and you can pile a ton of wood in it or a full bale of straw! Purchased at good ol' Canadian Tire a couple years ago.

The bridge thingy is a raised platform off the deck. It's where I stand to put clothes on the clothesline. Earle thinks it's his personal viewing point! The windows in the background are actually my old greenhouse, which is currently serving as the well-house. There's a heavily insulated giant box inside it designed so the well pump doesn't freeze solid in the winter(with a small heater too). I'm building a new greenhouse this summer so I don't mind giving that one up!

WOOOO, Pacer and Tehya! It looks like they had heaps of fun in the sunshine and made their mom very happy. I think that's a wonderful Mother's Day gift. I like the same photo Ginger's Mom does and for the same reason - the looks on their faces are so funny! I'm raising my water bottle for a belated Mother's Day toast to Tehya and Pacer, all their dog-siblings and their extremely caring and loving Person! Here's to the Glacier family!
