Thanks for the info - The best time to view Antares is on or around May 31 of each year, when the star is at "opposition" to the Sun.

I'm going to mark my calendar and see if I can catch a glimpse.

I've always been charmed by Antare's handsome face, I love his little freckles and that soft doeskin brown on his muzzle. That's a gorgeous photo of him.

Well, y'all can try to hug Antare, but unless you can corner him, he will run screaming in the other direction! He's very, very shy! He likes attention, but it takes awhile to convince him you aren't going to be mean to him. He's a little more cooperative if you have a harness in hand! He does love to pull, but that might not work in May! He knows he's not going running right now!
