I know dogs get spayed all the time but I'm still very worried. Please just keep her in your thoughts tomorrow, thanks. I'll be at work all day, but I'll update when I get home.

Good thoughts coming for both of you. I hope she has a speedy recovery. :)
Good luck, Keva! I still need to make an appointment for Moo. He'll be 6 months on the 16th.
Sending up a quick prayer that the whole thing is successful and completely uneventful. I'd tell you not to worry, but I know you will anyway! But that's okay, give her a kiss from me, okay?
Pawsitive thoughts headed Kevas way! I'm sure everything will be fine, but I know I worried when my dogs were spayed.

I just went through it with Raven last month. I was worried sick and fretting so I know how miserable it is and no matter how 'routine' it is it is still an invasive surgery and still scary. Keva will be in my thoughts and prayers tomorrow. What I kept telling myself is "It'll all be over soon." Just keep that in mind if/when you feel anxious about it. ((hugs))
Just don't worry if she's a little punky for a couple days. My Sophie was spayed at 5 months, she was quiet and sort of dopey for a day (the narcs during surgery) and not quite herself, but by day 3-4 she was good as new.
Jake's mom
Thoughts and prayers are going out for that little sweetheart(you too Mom). Can't wait till you're home and recovering little girl :)
{{{{{HUGS}}}}}
Positive thoughts going out for that pretty little girl. I am sure she will be fine, but it is perfectly normal to worry about our babies when we leave them for any type of surgery. Hope your day goes fast, and you don't spend too much time worrying.
My thoughts are with you and Keva. I know I was a nervous wreck when my girls were spayed. (((Hugs)))
Good luck Keva!!
Keva is probably in surgery now, good luck pretty girl.
Good Luck Keva!
We'll all be thinking about you!
aww........no more little baby Keva...........sniff sniff........
good healing husky vibes on the way!!
hoping sheŽs fine by now.........((gentle hugs))
I'm thinking of you and Keva today :)
Prayers and thoughts coming your way :) Good luck Keva! :)
Woops, I just saw this! I hope everything went well today, as I'm sure it did. (((hugs)))to you & to Keva...and Bebo boy too ;) !
I'm just seeing this, I hope everything went well and she's home safely.
Gentle (((HUGS)))
Thank you everyone for your well wishes for Keva. I'm afraid I have bad news. She couldn't get spayed today. They did a blood test to make sure she's ok to be put under and she failed it. Her white blood cell count is high, the only reason they could give me for this was she has an infection. I have no idea where or what caused this infection. :(
She threw up a little bit on the way there and I told them that but I figured it was just because she hadn't eaten (they told me not to feed her after 10:00). Her temperature was normal. She has been acting completely fine previous to this. I took her out to potty when I got home and she peed/pooped and it was normal. Then about 10 minutes ago I took her out and she had diarrhea. I don't know what is wrong with her. :( She's on clavamox to hopefully clear up the infection. I feel terrible because I dropped her off on my way to work and when they called I couldn't come and get her until I got off work, so she had to stay there all day.
Gosh I'm so sorry that she turned out to be sick! I sure hope she is better soon =( Give her some extra hugs! Keep us updated.
Oh no! :( I'm so sorry Keva is under the weather. Hopefully they get to the bottom of this and she can continue on with her spaying. Poor Keva and poor you. :(
Well, poor baby Keva. :( It's a good thing really, that they spotted this
when they did. Hope she's feeling better soon.

As for "feelin bad" she had to stay at the White Coat's Place all day ---
it was good practice for the next time.
As long as she didn't practice her version of the Yukon Death Howl,
learning that she gets to go HOME with Mom AFTER a visit to Doc's Place
is very good training.
Hoping for better luck on the next try!
;)
I'm sorry Keva is sick. :( I hope she is all better soon. I'm sure she is ok from the day spent at the vets. People and other animals all around probably kept her fascinated.
Sorry I just saw this. :( I hope you guys figure out what's wrong with her so she can be spayed. :( you both will be in my thoughts and prayers and I hope it's nothing too serious! (((HUGS))) to you both!!
Phew! For a minute as I was reading I thought "Oh no, she can't already be pregnant! She's just a baby!" LOL, pardon my stupid brain.
Poor sweetie, I hope the meds help & she gets back to her MissKevious self again soon. Like Phred said, at least she'll be a little familiar with the routine at the vets when the time finally comes. *sends good vibes*
OMG!! My heart dropped out of my chest when I read there is bad news :( Gosh, I hope she's okay and she can have her surgery as planned very soon. Get better little girl!! :(
Poor baby! I hope the clavamox fixes her right up. You both are in my thoughts. (((Hugs)))
I am sure she was just a little under the weather and its best she doesn't go under anasthesia until she is feeling her best.
Hope she gets better real soon.
Aww, hope she heals quickly! Just a thought, some breeds have abnormally low white blood cell counts. Could the reverse be true for huskies? :( Poor Keva. The worse part is not knowing what caused the infection =/
I hope she feels better asap!
How is little Miss Kevious today? :)
Keva acts fine...she's eating/drinking, playful, etc....I'm not fine. I made the mistake of reading all the things that a high white blood cell count can mean (cancer, etc.). :( I hope its just an infection. Nebo threw up this morning too, just bile, he does that sometimes so I'm not sure if that's related or not, he also acts fine.
I've never heard for huskies having abnormally high white blood cell counts as a breed thing, Nebo's had his blood tested a few times and its never been high.
donŽt get scared....... hopefully sheŽll get that cleared out soon......
they say whenever you read a medical book you start wondering "i might have this or that, I have those symptoms"......and when you read a pschyc book you wonder "maybe john or jane doe have this they act pretty crazy".....
sorry trying to cheer you up a little......
give miss kevious a big hug from us
Too much knowledge isn't necessarily a good thing. ;) I know that you are a good doggie mom and wanted to be able to do whatever you could for your pup, but you may just be worrying unnecessarily. Hopefully it is just a puppy thing, or minor infection and she will be cleared up in no time. {{{Gentle hugs}}} to the little cutie, and more to you.
Darn, sorry to hear that she has an infection:( I hope she gets over it quickly.
Now Amy don't go being like me and worrying your self to death. I'm sure if it was anything bad your vet would have been questioning it more. I'm sure she's going to be just fine. Give her some big hugs and kisses from me:)
Oh, no.... I will be praying for Keva, that the infection goes away soon. Keep up updated!
I'm sorry to hear this Amy, but try not to get too worried. There are a VAST number of things that can cause elevated white counts, from scary things (which I seriously doubt) to something as simple as a UTI, and even sometimes high stress level can elevate it. It somewhat depends on how elevated, but if it was something shockingly high I imagine your vet would be doing more testing and worrying about it. Please try not to worry. Look at it as a headache if you can. You can look up headaches and find some seriously scary things that cause them, but more than likely it is nothing like that and most headaches are minor and temporary without devastating cause.
You and Keva will be in my thoughts. I'm glad to hear she is acting well. That's a prime indication that she's doing just fine! Give her and Nebo some hugs and kisses for me :)
Amy,
Kay just pointed this out to me and I just wanted to let you know that I'm thinking about you and Keva. Try not to worry to much. I'm sure everything is going to be just fine. Give that gorgeous girl a hug from me and don't leave Nebo and Syd out gotta give them a hug too.
Don't worry, Mom! Your girl will be just fine.
