Meet Sherlock! *pics*

I brought him home from the Humane Society today. He had his second set of shots last week, so we've been starting to bring him out of his kennel more to socialize and today we brought him up to the front office to hang out. Of course I just didn't have the heart to put him back in his kennel after that, so I brought him home. :rolleyes: But honestly something between me and him just clicked. I really don't understand it, but it's like he chose me and of course I couldn't say no. I almost started crying, thinking about putting him back. I know I'm ridiculous! He's soooo smart too! He already knows, sit, stay, AND come. I just taught him that in a couple of hours!!

How the heck am I suppose to take him back tomorrow?!

Actually his momma was an Australian Shepherd and his Daddy was either a umm Bloodhound or Black and Tan Coonhound. I'm pretty sure he was a Coonhound though.

That face is so precious! :D And its so very obvious he has coonhound in him.. mainly because he has that sad puppy face down pat. ;) Its obvious he could probably get away with anything!

I'm very sad to say that we did take Sherlock back to the HS. My mom just couldn't handle a puppy while I was at school. However for the 5 days he was with us, he learned A LOT and it made him a bit more adoptable than he was(if anyone is interested, he was shy and scared of people). When I went into work yesterday I cuddled in his kennel with him and he was right on my lap. Turns out the HS did me a favor and chose him as pet of the week. So in the Sat. paper his picture was there. That was all it took for his new owners to fall in love with him. They called us and asked about him before coming in with there other, sweet, friendly hound dog mix. I think he was a foxhound mix. Anyways they loved him, the dogs get along great, and he's already a spoiled boy. I think their keeping his name Sherlock. The woman even called us later on the day to tell us how it was going.

I spent the day crying because I had really felt a connection with him and was heartbroken to see him go. I did love him but he'll be taken care of by his new family I'm sure.

Ah, I'm sorry you didn't get to keep Sherlock. :( But at least you know he went to a great home and is getting spoiled, just like you would have done.
And your love for him is probably what got him adopted out so quickly. That and the fact that he is an adorable puppy!! :D
