That's awesome, Kay!! Congratulations! I hope for your sake that nobody claims him and that he truly was abandoned. I have no non-Lion King name suggestions, as I'm awful with coming up with names. Why not name him after one of the hyenas? or another character in TLK if your Dad doesn't like Mufasa? Kovu isn't as interesting as Mufasa, but I really like it...

How about a Lion King - themed Name that doesn't require a pronunciation guide
to say it?

"Mufasa" is prolly neat - IF you know how to say or pronounce it!

Love the new pictures, he is too cute!! I actually think he looks like a Kovu ;)

I was just thinking about it since i saw the other thread of Wolf_q's thread that the little girl everyone is thinking of Keva and then your guy everyone is thinking of Kovu. I think that is really crazy, both same gotcha day too. Had to look at the pictures again they're adorable he's so adorable too!

He looks like such a sweetheart, I just love him! I hope you are able to keep him!

I've always liked the name Bonzai.....I think that's one of the hyenas....oh yeah you said *not* lion king, oh well lol.

Those bath pictures are just precious! He really is adorable, and he looks so "at home" with Ki, the pool, etc. Whatever name you choose will be terrific.

My heart skipped a zillion beats when I saw these pictures! Sleeping in the sink just about knocked me off my seat!I definitely see Rottie but the fuzzy ears are throwing me, so I'm saying GR..maybe some shepherd. All I know is that he is just about the cutest little guy I've ever seen, so whatever he is, it's perfect!

I'm proud of your muttlies too! Can't wait for the FINAL decision but I'd be very surprised if it isn't yes!

Thank you everyone for the positive replies without any nitpicking. ;) We are very happy about the puppy and he is something I've wanted for a while now. He is an absolute joy and has made me do a lot of smiling the past few days.

A few names I really like...
Mufasa, of course. It has always been "my" name for my next male dog, to carry on TLK theme in honor of Simba. I have already started calling him Moo for short.

Kovu - I love "K" names and it would fit nicely with Kiara. Koko for a nickname.
I also really like Pumbaa but I think it's too close to Simba. His chubby belly did remind me of that, though. ;)

I also really like Frank Sinatra so I thought of naming him that as his full name and calling him Frankie or Frank for short. But then I thought of Beenie and Frankie and I wouldn't want to take their names. :)

Scar from TLK is another name I thought of. Short and manly. ;)

Nuka is another TLK name and can be male or female. It means younger siblings in Greenlandic so it really works.

Oh Kay he is just precious :D.. what a handsome little man. I will hgave a think of names and post them in a bit.. we are going through the 'name game' aswell at the moment. Lots of non puppy claiming vibes coming your way ;).

As far as a name, Mufasa might wear on your dad. I agree I think he was hesitant naming the dog knowing more so that would mean he was staying. Maybe you could point out you have to call him something as far as training. I like many of the names mentioned, but it really doesnt matter. They have a tendancy to name themselves. Hotties name was originally " Infared".. .. And Femka became Precious.

Wow, he really looks like Ki, just fuzzier. By the pics I think she likes the idea of a little (twin) brother. :D Well if he doesn't get claimed, poor guy, the idea of him being lost/abandoned is horrible and you keep him I look forward to meeting the little guy.

kay! I'm surprised you'd let your father says no to mufasa, I know you've been saying this name for so long and you should name your dog whatever you want...right? I like kovu too ..(isn't that the silly birdie??) but mufasa suits him too. a good mufasa. ;)

Thanks again everyone! Gina, Kovu is Kiara's boyfriend in the movie. I think it would be cute if Amy names her pup Keva and I name him Kovu because we've arranged a marriage for her and him, just like their older siblings Nebo and Kiara. ;)

I am really stuck on Mufasa though. I have loved that name for a long time now.

I can't stop saying it but he is such a behaved puppy. No accidents again last night. My neighbor is in love with him - she said as a gift to him she wants to pay for his neuter and microchipping. She gave him a little toy.
