Tigger 4-5-93 - 10-16-06
My precious baby girl passed away peacefully just after 4pm this afternoon. Her daddy and I were by her side holding her and whispering softly how much we love her as she made her way to the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. She passed with her head in my hands, very gently and very peacefully.
My sweet princess, there was nothing more that I could do for you. There was no trying to make you comfortable. The glint and glimmer that was always in your eyes was gone and I knew in my heart that I could no longer be selfish. Daddy and I enjoyed 13 + years with you. You made every day bright and we already miss you dearly.
The last gift that I could give to you was to restore your body and soul by helping you to pass. I knew when you started purring as we waited that it was the right thing for you, and as the vet tech held you in her arms before taking you away...that glint was back in your eyes and I knew that you had made your journey and were already playing and making friends.
Godspeed Tigger Lou...kiss Tony when you see him again. You are with us in spirit and will return to us as ashes in a few days.
Thank you everyone for the prayers that you sent Tigger's way...the prayers and thoughts...I know that with these thoughts and prayers I was able to be strong and I was able to give her one last gift. She would not have wanted to suffer and when I came home from work this afternoon I knew that it was time....she was not the Tigger that I had always known.
Here are some of the last pictures that I took with her over this very special weekend.

Oh gosh talk about LES. That picture of daddy saying goodbye really did me in. I am so, so sorry on the loss of your beloved Tigger. :(
I know how hard it was for you to say goodbye. You loved her so much to not let her suffer any more and to let her go peacefully while laying in your arms.
I pray and hope that you find comfort and peace in the fond memories you made together.
Rest in Peace sweetheart and have fun playing on the RB with Tony.

Still that sweet beautiful face, ill or not. Watching Daddy's expression, even the little I could see, broke my heart.
LES here. You know you did the right thing, and Tigger told you when it was time.
Wishing you an easing of pain, and wonderful warm memories of her? What else could they be but warm and loving?
HUGS to you both.

Oh Meg, I didn't see this until today. As I sit hear bawling my eyes out, I feel your pain and your loss and your broken heartedness!!! :( What precious pictures of her with her Daddy and her Mommy who loved and cared for her for so very long. I remember too well, the feeling of knowing I had to send my Tucker Man on his way, and also watching as my dear vet held him gently in her arms and stroked him before carrying him away. It is a sight that will never leave my mind or heart.
What a beautiful picture of her and brother Tony .... a true keepsake photo!
((((((((GIANT HUGS)))))))) and shared tears!

I'm so sorry, Meg. We've been without internet connection for a few days, and somehow I knew when I got back to PT I'd find this sad thread. :(
I was holding it together pretty good as I read through your memorial....until I saw the pic of daddy saying good bye. That is such a sweet but heart wrenching picture. :(
Tigger had a wonderful long life, and is now rejoined with her beloved Tony. I know that knowing you did what was best for her is no consolation right now, but it will be as time passes. You gave her a wonderful life from the day you got her until her final days.
RIP sweet Tigger. I know you're frolicking happily with Tony now. Please don't forget to look in on your meowmy and daddy now and then, and all your brothers and sisters that are still here and missing you.
{{{hugs}}} :(

I'm so sorry for your loss. :( What I do know is that there were many, many precious cat angels waiting for Tigger when she entered heaven, and my Mimi was right there, I'm sure.

What a tiny little thing Tigger was! That will make it easier for her to fly over the Rainbow Bridge!
Godspeed.....

Rest In Peace Tigger, now you are on the bridge with all the other Pet Talk angels looking down on us and watching to make sure your parents are okay.
Goodbye Sweet Tigger

Oh (((Meg))), I'm so sorry I didn't see this until today!!! :( I had no idea you have lost your precious baby Tigger!!! :( I'm very sorry to hear this, but her passing sounds so peaceful and full of love, and now she will smile down at you and the rest of the kitty gang.
She looks so cute in the pictures, and she's as small as my Lily girl...

My heartfelt condolences on losing your beloved Tigger. Tears fell as I saw the pictures of her with her Dad. I can so relate, and I hope she will befriend my Muskrat, Meeshe and Lily at the RB. Blessings to you and her Daddy, as you both knew it was her time to depart, and she thanks you for being so attuned to her feelings. It is never an easy decision to make when we love them so much, but they let us know when their time has come. Sometimes it is obvious, other times it is subtle. You have her love forever more, and you did not let her suffer beyond her capability to endure. Cats are such stoic creatures, and instinctively hesitate to show signs of illness. I am so touched by your loving tribute to your beautiful Tigger. May she rest in peace.
