Liz I am not one of the folks who comments daily. Some pets really inspire me by their stories or beautiful pictures and on those pets I try to comment, although time constraints often cause me to hold back some days because I first view the Dog/Cat/Pet of the Day each morning before work and really shouldn't be on the computer in the first place at that time. :o If I posted for each pet each day all of my posts would begin to sound alike. I try to respond to the ones that *speak to me* and, with all of the PT members that we have nowadays, I trust that the pets that I miss might have inspired someone else's thoughtful comments. Hope I explained that OK. :o
I post on usually only the dogs, if one has an especially cool story, or cute face I will comment. I think more people should comment, though. The more people comment, the better it makes the owners feel. :D
I used to try to comment on them all. I do comment if one really catches my eye. I try to respond to POTD a lot more than the others especially when there's only 2 responses and it's evening already. :(
I know this is really bad, but I only comment on the dogs I know from pt, have very touching stories, or are one of my favorite breeds.
I comment ones that really catch my eye to, or that are from pettalk. Like Breanne, said it's bad and I hate not commenting them all, but they all are special! :D
To tell the truth, I honestly rarely ever comment on any. :o I think I should make that a goal.. to comment on atleast the POTD. :D
I used to post every day, but now it seems like I hardly have time to be on the computer at all :o
I look at the cat of the day and read the comments, by the time I finish I find that someone else has said exactly (or almost) what I was going to say. Same with the cat photos in cat general, there just isn't time to comment on all of them, much as I'd like to.
I feel bad i don't post everyday.I will try to post more.
I never do for cats and pets (well, I think I have for cats once), but occasionally I'll post on the DOTD if I enjoyed the story, its a PT dog, if it really catches my eye, etc.
i tend to randomly commet on them, some days i will others i wont
Not often enough, I think. I try to comment on the Cats, but I don't always manage it. Sometimes I comment on the pet, if I see a cute guinea pig face looking at me, because the poor little pets never get many comments. I never comment on the dogs, for the reason that time is limited and I thought the dogs always got a lot of replies, but from what you say they are going down.
Is that maybe a seasonal thing? More people on holiday at this time of the year (northern hemisphere people anyway), or do you think it is an ongoing trend?
Similar situation here!! I used to do it every day, and I will try to do this again :)Quote:

I always look and read about each pet of the day, (dog, cat & pet) but because my internet & time is limited (use the net at work) I don't usually comment unless I know of the animal (another pt members pet, a friend, etc...), if I happen to have extra time or if the animal has a special story (is ill, dis-abled, has a job that is important or special), etc....
If I had all the time in the world I would reply to a LOT more posts, not just the dog, cat, pet of the day posts. :p
I try to comment every day to the DOTD. I think if someone's dog is chosen, they would love to have comments made. Sometimes I just can't find the time to comment. Not because I don't want to but because the time is gone before I have to go to work. I look at all three pets every day but I rarely get to the cat side or pet side. I admire people that comment to all every day. Sometimes it's discouraging to see that there aren't very many comments made for a particular dog, cat, or pet. I do tend to say almost the same thing every day and I often wish I could be more creative with what I say. I consider it a great honor for someone's beloved pet to be recognized as DOTD, COTD, or POTD. I just wish more of the owners would come forward and join the board so we know who they are and we can get to know them and their furkids better. :)
